In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

As long as you're scoring in the upper 40's you'll be fine 🙂

Since I read that a few people would prefer to have a countdown thread where theres no apprehension whatsoever, I decided to put this up (mods delete this if you feel that this is redundant). I am going to truly assume that June 20th is the release date online at ThX, and sadly this will probably be true come midnight tonight on June 12th, when scores are not released. So until then, let's blow off a little steam here. 7:40pm June 11th here, this gives us roughly 196.3 hours until midnight on June 19th going into June 20th. Cheers until then.

What's everyone doing until then? Should i start pregaming, good or bad ill be drinking 😀

Is anyone still holding out realistic hope for the 12th/13th release date? I am, but now I'm starting to feel naive. Why would the Iowa office tell so many people this date if it weren't accurate? It's not like they told them "mid-June," they told them the 12th or 13th (which, to me, seems pretty definite). Is anyone planning on calling tomorrow to check on the discrepancy (sp?)? I would, but I'll be at work the entire day.

I am on board with this......the whole June 12/13 online but somehow every single person that took the MCAT getting his/her score in the mail on June 20 is just too ridiculous for me..

it's only about another week anyway!

Let me just say, too, that at first I clicked on the "Non-MCAT" link, and it said something like 183 pages, and I was like, "What!?!" I leave to eat dinner for a few hours, and then 100 pages get posted. Then, I realized...wrong link.

Yeah, I'm still holding out hope for release tomorrow or Tuesday. 😉 I'm probably going to be disappointed, but whatever.

Maybe we'll be happily surprised. I just can't let got of the fact that so many people we told that it would be Monday or Tuesday. Why the heck would they do that to us???

Of course, I've said all along that I wouldn't expect scores before the 21st and now look what I've let myself believe. 🙄

Salutations and welcome to SDN. Two things:

1) Check out the non-trad forum if you haven't already. There are a bunch of us who are PhDs in med school (along with one resident named njbmd), and we've been in your shoes. You'll find several threads discussing issues pertaining to PhD applicants there.

2) Being a PhD doesn't get you special consideration. Sorry. You still need to do well on the MCAT and have good UG grades just like everyone else. What do you mean by "decentish to okay" UG grades? If you're sub 3.5, your grades are below the avg. for allopathic matriculants, but you can still counter that with strong MCAT scores, grad grades, ECs, and LORs. If you're sub 3.0, you might need to do a post bac to get yourself up above 3.0 so that you don't get screened out pre-secondary. Seriously. CA schools are notoriously difficult to get into. You might try PMing a user named relentless11; he's a grad student in CA who is taking UG courses as a grad student to try to get himself up above that 3.0. He posts pretty often in the non-trad forum. pseudoknot is another PhD applicant from CA who's now an M1, and you might try talking to him also.

Haha anyone notice the percentage of people who view/post for that thread compared to this one? We have like 3x the views and they have like 3x the posts...

That's because we have few lurkers for our random thread. There are tons of them on this thread. I get PMs sometimes from people who read my posts here but who have never posted themselves. They're watching you, MCATers. 😉

yaa man im wastin like 3 hours daily watchin the games but its good cuz its keepin me busy not thinkin of the mcat score but i hope they post it tomorrow soo all of us can keep goin with our lives

when does gujudoc think scores will be released? she seems to be right about most things....

my husband told me that LSAT scores are usually released before the "official release date" and my mother in law told me that pass/fail grades for the NY Bar exam also come out earlier than expected. I think the AAMC is not that nice 🙁

Congrats on coming out. Though I have to warn you that SDN is totally addictive. Next thing you know, you are checking this site daily and some of your best friends are people you've never even met. 😛 (I'm exaggerating slightly, but it's actually true that I've met a few real-life friends through SDN, and I even know someone who met her boyfriend on here.)

Come on, you lurkers, say hello. We don't bite much, and the angst is easier to bear when you share it with a group of strangers. 😛

yo man the anxiety is getting to me soo much that i cant go to the THx WEBSITE IM GANNA WAIT HERE UNTIL I SEE PEOPLE SAYIN THAT THE GRADES ARE OUT THEN TAKE A BREATH AND GET READY TO SEE THE GRADE I DONT WANAN GO THERE TO THx n be shoked with the score

well i think im already addicted for the last week i checked it like 100 times a day i work at a pharmacy so i use the internet to check it every min to see what happened with the scores and when they r comin out

We're on page 81. Write that down and you can pick up where you left off. BTW, I like the chunky monkey. Bonus MCAT points for whoever buys the MCAT mod her favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream. 😀

hahah QofQuimica that is one hilarious buddy icon. Yea I would like to believe that June 12/13 will be the date that online scores will be released, but if my memory serves me correctly. that would make us one of the earliest mcat scores that has ever been released, and since when does AAMC aim to please? Online scores may not be exactly on the 20th, but i would assume it to be around 16-20, probably leaning more towards the 20th.

we aren't going to know until the 20th...there would have been some sort of notification if they were going to come out tommorow...i bet the iowa office just takes pleasure in stringing us along...perhaps the TPR, the iowa office, and whoever else are part of a group looking to make people's lives miserable

I think the announcement would come out the day of the release.

scentimint, were those announcements you were referring to (like 10 pages ago) on the THx website? Has there ever been an official announcement on the MCAT website?

By the way, greetings to all the soccer fans! I love soccer and the World Cup just makes me smile. When it was in Korea/Japan, I don't think I slept for that month cuz I stayed up watching the games all night. For this Cup, I set up a pool at work and since I work with several Europeans they're really into it. All the soccer folks should get into the same med school and get some pick up games going!

hey so im sure this has already been asked a million times, but does anyone know whether we can submit our amcas before we get our mcat scores back? im going abroad at the end of this week (before we get scores back - grrrr) so i want to submit the amcas before i fly out, but i dunno if im supposed to wait till the scores come back...

sooo. yea, i'm one of those who reads but doesn't post (only for about a week though). i really wasn't thinking much about it until then...nervous, but nothing extreme. now i can't seem to fall asleep at night unless i force myself to think about something else.

alcohol is gonna be necessary one way or another when i get those scores. would it be bad to just stay drunk UNTIL then?

If you submit AMCAS before MCAT scores.... how do you add schools afterwards? Do you have to wait until it's verified?
