In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

Wow is that a standard practice for TPR to email its students information like that? I took kaplan, and they barely sent out things of that nature. The only thing I do remember them sending post-mcat was a survey about the mcat, what they thought, its difficulty, hard sections, etc etc, which was very useful. Makes me look down on TPR intensely.
 High standards? 😉

I would really like to understand the logic behind not releasing them as soon as they're done. Not being snippy, just curious if it serves some purpose.

I'd love to know this as well. And I'm perfectly willing to be snippy about it to somebody -- anybody! -- at AAMC if I get half a chance. 🙄

And that soccer game wasn't exactly cheering. At least it was better than the England-Paraguay one. That was embarrassing.

haha not quite, but i did really enjoy kaplan, so i guess ill be more defensive about it. I just think it was quite unethical for TPR to makes all its students paranoid, then making those students who post on SDN pass on that paranoia lol

I think their protocol previously has been to post them in THx as soon as they arrive at AAMC. Not sure what's up with this current bullsh*t. I would hate to think that they have scores and aren't releasing them.
It seems like the sooner they release the scores the sooner they would stop being inundated with premeds calling in.

FWIW, TPR had us sign a waiver to the effect that they could play as many head games as they wanted to with us. That is how they get by with teaching their "Verbal Method", which was very much of a joke to me.....hey you only need to get through 7 passages to score a 10 and get in somewhere.

Waiting impatiently on the hot, windswept plains of West Texas....fitting surroundings for the score doldrum.

Now because of all the confusion, I trust no one in AAMC. I only trust ThX. Adcoms should really see the crap that AAMC puts us through. I wanna call AAMC and tell them, im angry as hell, and im not taking anymore of it

i am sooo pissed and upset...wtf is taking hte AAMC so long to release the f*cking scores!?

Ok, so I think I may just submit my application now before scores come out. However, can you change the schools you are applying to once you submit the application? Say I end up with a 20 (just making a point), and no longer wish to apply to Northwestern, can I take it off my list??? Same thing goes with adding schools....

Once you've submitted your app, you can't take a school off your list, but you can add any number of schools. In my opinion, it's a better idea to just wait a few days and submit once scores are out. I doubt the few days' difference will give you much of an advantage, since schools usually get the first batch of applications at the same time.

What exactly did they do wrong? Their policy is that scores come out sometime in the 60 days after the test, usually on or about the 60th day. The only notice that was ever posted on their website was that the scores would be available on the 20th, the rest was all rumor, speculation, and the idiots at TPR.

I'm as pissed to be waiting as anyone else, but if anyone is under duress the aamc is not the true cause.

I completely agree, the TPR verbal strategy is crap. It only seems to work for people already doing well from my experience. I ended up using the EK strategy, I hope it work for me :scared:

Yep, that's what I used too... Gave up on TPR strategy after I got 8 on the VR diag and never got more than 7 using the TPR method. The EK method got me to 10 on practice tests...

I guess you're right. I think Im officially joined the disgruntled crowd. It woulda been nice had they followed through the 12/13 date that many of their AAMC customer service reps have been telling anxious premeds. I guess that their unorganization at aamc, where one set of reps were told 12/13, and a whole set of other reps were told the 20th, and a variety of other answers led to most of the frustration that many students have here

kaplan's VR strategy didn't get me much of anywhere. EK definitely helped with my confidence, though I didn't notice much of a difference in score.

Same here, highest I ever got with TPR was a 7, highest I ever got with EK was an 11 (an 11 is a happy score for me 😀 ).

On the day of the MCAT, I really struggled with the last passage about history or something lol. I ended up guessing on some of the questions because of time constraints, I hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the A$$.

Ii'm sure you will be just fine. I've heard from lots of people who said they had to guess on a few questions and still came out with 10+ in some sections.

The irony for me was that I was finishing verbal with ease but on the actual test day I guessed on the whole last passage about...can't say on here....here's to hoping that one was the experimental passage. 😳

All in all is doesn't bode well for my composite score.

Im so freaking frusterated! I thought that my stress levels would be lower now than they were when I really took the test but it seems to be worse. Last night I couldnt fall asleep and Ive started grinding my teeth when I do finally fall asleep. My mom's theory is that I dealt with my stress before by studying more but now I cant do that... How am I (and my teeth) going to ever make it through the week???

I'm impressed that so many of your remember specific verbal passages from your test. I only vaguely remember one. I seemed to have blocked everything from my memory at this point.

Do something physically exhausting (for me swimming or 18 holes in 30 mph winds), put in a mouthpiece (Academy for 5 bones) and cry yourself to sleep (If you are a college football fan, then think about Oklahoma winning the Big 12 South this year after their one year hiatus). At least that's what I do.

Never going to happen. This is A&M's year. I can feel it.

(Yeah about the same odds of that as me getting above 40 on my MCAT  )

Ack! I guessed on 2-3 questions at the end of each section and I'm hoping for at least a 10 on each section....

Adrian Peterson is only a Junior 🙁.

Edit: It is raining in Amarillo right now, so I guess anything can happen.

i switched from kaplan material to all EK for the april exam..damn it totally changed the way i approached the test..esp verbal. boy all the bs about underlining stuff and trying to map the passage is a complete waste of time and is only preached for kaplan's money motive purpose. I highly recommend following EK's suggestions...it will make you think straight and approach the exam on your strengths rather than a stupid kaplan strategy. Hopefully none of us ever have to take this annoying test again..by the way anyone remember what section your test was?? I had BQ!

BR for me... I didn't really do much prep for verbal, but one thing Kaplan did help me with was getting me thinking about "wrong answer pathologies" as they put it. There definitely was a pattern to the wrong answers I was choosing and as soon as I figured that out, it was smooth sailing. I'm sure other companies mention that kind of thing as well though...

I don't get it....if the scores are going to be mailed out by the end of the week (I called MCAT again in Iowa) why can't they be up online? Have the scores ever been mailed out before they are posted online?

Q, any comments?

I had BJ....I thought I was well prepared (after taking Kaplan and much cramming), but quickly began to lose confidence 2/3 of the way through PS; this particular form was harder than any of the others I had taken (Kaplan or AAMC)....VR was hard also, BS seemed to be a tad better...anyone else have this form?

By the way, did any of you have form AT or an A form and think the bio kind of sucked???

Well, yes, I had AN and thought bio sucked... but I'm not great at bio, so you might not want to take my opinion seriously. 😳

Edit: Besides, wouldn't not-sucking have meant missing the point? It's supposed to suck.

Iowa again said that they'll be mailed this week but not online till the 20th??? Wtf, this just seems so bizarre... I'm looking forward to hearing from Q on this crazy business as well. Thanks for calling and sharing the info.

By the way, I haven't written/spoken the word "Iowa" so much since a project I did in 3rd grade...

CJ here.
Could have used some help there I am pretty sure. I tried to identify these myself but unfortunately for me I am too impatient. It will, as it often has come back to haunt me. Most everywhere in life everyone has that one flaw they are just a little too arrogant or apathetic to correct, that is mine and arrogance is for sure the reason I don't fix it. That'll all change in med school I suspect, when I am no longer the pacemaker but just another graded potential trying to get to threshold. A great subset of minds to be average amongst, hopefully average. Have always enjoyed the fight, win or lose.

This shizzle is making me far too philosophical, I need a beer. In the words of Ray Wylie Hubbard "Screw you we're from Texas".....there I feel better. 😉

These MCAT dreams are getting worse and worse... I had a dream last night that I was sitting in a classroom with former students from high school and college classes, some that I haven't seen in years. They were writing everyone's MCAT scores on the blackboard at the front of the room.

I remember seeing one of my friends had an "18". I felt bad for him. I, on the other hand, had a score of "2770".

Hey, I never said it was an interesting dream.

I've never been a big wine person but I discovered recently that I'm nuts for Rieslings and Pinot Grigio. I'm not a fan of reds. When we did a wine tasting I kinda spit out a merlot and the teacher decided no more reds for me.

Merlot is a very dry wine. It's starting to be a little too dry for my taste so that was a bad one for you to start out with. I had the same bad experience with white wine where I was given white wine for the first time warm (we were in Nicaragua and just bought it off the shelf) and I haven't had anything white since then.

CR here. The PS and BS were annoying. I always finish bio with time to spare but I actually had to guess on 2 questions at the end. They were orgo so I probably would have gotten them wrong anyway

PS had some very odd passages....

100% agreed. I know we can't mention them here but there were a couple of passages out of left field.

I felt the same way with the EK strategy. Hopefully I hit a peak right at the time of the MCAT and it shot up a point or two. I'm just worried that I went down for some reason.

That was for the most part how I felt about the entire morning section when I left the test center. I don't remember much of the BS section either, but at least I left feeling really good about it.

not releasing the scores as soon as they're ready?
whoever thought that up deserves a good beating.

Whoa.. I missed when that was said. I'd be pissed if they did that and the scores reached my house (I'm in a different state for the summer) before they went online. I'd have an issue with my parents reading the scores to me on the phone.

No, sorry, I didn't ask her when the printed score reports would be mailed. I only asked when they would be available on line.

so does any one know when they will be released ONLINE??! anyone??!! THANK YOU!

There is a lot of confusion on this. I don't think the AAMC even really knows.
If what is true about them mailing out the scores this week and then only releasing them online next week, then it's confirmed they are sadistic folk.

Ah - any suggestions on a sweeter red I might like?

you should try cabernet sauvignon. it's a little fruitier and definitely not on the dry side like merlot. if you are looking for a sweet red wine that's cheap but still relatively good, try carlo rossi's sangria...it's usually 5.99 for a big jug of it.
