In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

You all have too much faith in me.

You don't have enough faith in yourself, but don't worry others last year who were scoring high on practice tests were like that too and still ended up with high scores. Its a natural feeling. :luck:

Seriously, I'm the 2nd highest poster in this thread and I don't qualify for the CN seal of approval?? What am I going to do with that 15th spot on my AMCAS activities?? 😱

sdn makes me slack

I'm not. I have started it, but I just can't bring myself to work on it when I have this feeling of doom. Hopefully these feelings will be over sometime on the 20th.

I'm not, but I have till June 2007 to worry about that 🙂

Btw, how are you people planning to celebrate if you get the score you want?

Hey guys - I'll be pretty stir-crazy this weekend. If any of you have PS you want read over - feel free to send me a PM - I've got one to work on already.
Maybe if I get a draft done I'll send it to you, VD 🙂

Yep, I did 🙂 I'm scared of new things, so I decided to take the old MCAT while it's still there... Hopefully I did well enough.

I will probably go to a restaurant with my family and friends to celebtrate...

Wow, so I'm finally caught up on this thread again. To all you guys who've posted baby pics, they are gorgeous! You must be proud mamas and papas. I pointed my husband in the direction of SDN so he'll see all the cute kids too. I think when he says he wants kids someday he really means off in the fuzzy future... Haha, oh well, I guess I have enough to keep me busy these days anyway. For now I'll try to find a picture of my kitten to post...

So I'm a little disappointed to not be considered Chuck Norris or VD certified... But I suppose it's only fair since I sort of go through phases with how much I post on here depending on how busy I am at work. Where are my priorities?! I'm gonna work on that and hopefully be certified before I submit my AMCAS.

3-4 days!!!

Hey all, I've been lurking since day 1. Just wanted to say thanks for keeping me sane for the past 55 days. The only thing that seems to help with the wait is knowing everyone else is miserable as well. Does that suggest a personality disorder?

My vivid MCAT dream was two days after the test--I scored a 53 and they hadn't graded the Verbal portion yet. I woke up with a huge smile, then realized maybe, just maybe, I had added the numbers wrong. Boy, I wish I could have that dream again! 😎

Incidentally, what's the consensus on expectations? Is it generally reasonable to anticipate +/- 2 points from your average AAMC practice test scores?

The Brinks truck just drove by the office....maybe our MCAT scores somehow got loaded onto it, causing the "discrepancies".....discrepancies being just a fancy term for lost
Should I chase it down? 😉

hey, what about me???

Scentimint, you too. I was confused because I'm used to the cute little avatars you usually have, ala "I'm a little orange."

ALSO: People, people, people. Some of you are STILL checking, right? The Thx? Just in case? Come on I know there are some compulsive checkers out there.

Hey, no bloodshed in my forum. You gentlemen take this outside! 😡 And here you were all becoming such a nice little bunch of SDN groupies. 😛 There are still some more lurkers watching us, BTW. Come on out, you lurkers, we know you're there!!!

I guess I'd be one of the lurkers. Four days to go, I might as well come out of hiding. Been here morning, noon, and night for about a month- thanks for all the amusement! Love the haikus, and the dog and baby pics are too cute!!!

Morning and night, and sometimes in between 🙂

 sometimes I have cute avatars. I'm thinking about going back to one. This one is kind of scaring the bejeezus out of me. We were playing a vampire game and this one is a picture of my character.

more lurkers coming out! yay!

damn dreams

last night i seemed to have 4 different sections scored: three 16's and the fourth one, which I think was verbal, was too blurry to make out. dubya tee eff.

Yes! I got some jumping clappers! I guess I can't be too depressed about a lack of MCAT scores today...

Wouldn't it be great if our scores came with smilies all over the envelope? Unless you got like an 11, then the smilies would just be mocking...I have no doubt that the AAMC could be mean like that

I have posted once or twice, but I still consider myself a lurker. I do admit to being a compulsive score checker. I check at least once or twice an hour, since I am on a computer all day at work.

I work as a medical transcriptionist. I can't wait for the day when I finally get to do the dictating instead of just typing others' dictation =)

I trust Q. I know they won't be there until the 20th. 🙁

And checking Thx is the first thing I do every morning and when I get home from work... my fiance laughs at me. I think he can't wait to have this over so he can have me sane again. 😱

I remember having two dreams about my score, but I only remember the Writing scores for each one....First I got an "X" and second I got a "B". Not much help for predicting my real score....

You aren't alone, first thing I do I check and the last thing I do is check 🙄

Well, I am another lurker who has been reading for the last three weeks. I haven't written one post yet but you guys already feel like my mcat family...thanks for the support.

I don't know why I check Thx 3 times a day (when I get up, when I get home from work, and before I go to bed). The website says not until the 20th. I see that message every time before I click the THx page. Yet, I continue on to see if they're up. Why do I do this?!

Does anyone know how important the length of the PS is? Right now, I feel pretty good about the content of mine, but it's only 1/2 of the max length, and I feel like it should be longer.

I have not yet done my personal statement. Everything else on my app is done of course. This weekend is the big weekend to finish it up for me. Like you, I also have a meeting with an advisor next week to go over my total app before I submit (including MCAT scores). I have done a lot of thinking about my PS though, and have a pretty good plan, amorphous as it may be right now.

are there a certain amount of posts a person must have before they aren't a lurker any more?

Question for everyone: Did you all max out your allotted space in describing each experience in the work/experience section? I basically wrote little mini-essays for each one describing what it involved, how I came to be involved with it, and how it benefitted me. Maxed out almost all of them. I copied and pasted all of my comments from my AMCAS app to microsoft word and printed them out. Turned out to be like 5 pages (wow).

I must too confess that I'm a lurker myself. I have been checking the mcat forums almost every hour since I've started prepping for the April MCATs. Here's to my first post! 😀

i tried to keep them short and sweet. a few sentences max. of course some take more explanation then others but i figure some adcom is going to reading thousands of these and won't want to deal with too much flowery info.

I hear ya. You may be right. However, I am banking on them really focusing in on the apps by the time we get to the interview stage. So, I constructed my comments to try and reflect what i'm really all about..
