just seems a little silly given that uconn isn't her first choice. i'm in limbo at four schools not at the top of my list and i can't be bothered to think about the "why" behind it.

i'd rather pound mimosas.

I understand that sentiment. After I got accepted to my top choice, I just brushed all the silence/rejections off my shoulders. But I understand why someone would want to know. I'm curious about why some schools left me in the dark, but I'm not curious enough to care.

'Cause I'm intrigued! I genuinely would like to know their reasoning. Sure, it changes nothing... But knowledge is power. 🙂

It definitely isn't like I'm losing sleep over this. UConn fell of my "want to go to DS here" radar months ago, when I finally started hearing back from other schools. If a few minutes of my time could enlighten me, though, I see no reason not to check it out.

I had no clue it would be so strange to want to be on top of my game. It might help in the future if I want to specialize, or maybe they just have a bogus reason. Who knows... hence the asking.

you are intrigued as to how your 26aa and 3.95 gpa didn't land you an acceptance there?.....

Probably... I'm not expecting much, since they haven't been very verbal throughout this process. But, if so, I've lost nothing but the 30 seconds my email took to shoot off. 🙂
 
so i have not been accepted yet and fall semester grades just came out.. I took 15 credits and got A’s in three of my classes(dance, intro gender studies and my senior psychology thesis) but got B+ in biochemistry and genetics... since i haven’t heard anything I’m afraid they are waiting to see what my fall grades are to send an acceptance but am nervous that they won’t be impressed with two B+ in sciences classes.... what should i do? do the academic update or give it a little bit more time (my cumulative GPA is a 3.77 and my biology minor GPA 3.64)
 
Interview invite from Pittsburg via Email yesterday. Unfortunately, I will be turning it down.

What date did they give you? I got an interview invite from them too however they told me 1/13 was their last available date. Just wondering if they opened up more interview dates.

Anyone heard back from NOVA yesterday? (1/3) Someone in the school specific thread said he got an acceptance call from them on Friday.

No, it's not bad news. If you are on the wait list, then it is just a matter of time until you receive an acceptance email. Unfortunately, I don't think they tell you where on the list your name is but as long as you haven't received a rejection letter, you still have a chance to get in! :xf:

Not really. If wife gets job in VA and we both move then I can change my residency and VCU would become cheaper overall. So will have to see how everything plays out but offer from Pitt certainly complicates things a bit. I,m still debating UMich interview since I've heard ton of good things. One thing is for sure - I am definitely not done spending money on the application process.
 
I guess it is safe to assume I am not invited to the party at Pittsburgh if I haven't heard anything from them at this point.

wow. when we were at buff i didn't get the impression fam would be moving with you. that's a huge deal.

i might be a little biased (now), but i would strongly urge you to hear umich out. i'm confidently throwing my education in their hands and wouldn't mind having some other old timers in my class.
 
Received an interview invite to Tufts today but will be turning it down. Good luck to all those with interviews lined up!
