I know that some schools just offer scholarships upon acceptances. Today when Michigan called me, they offered me 120k over 4 years.

Wow that's a big chunk taken off! If Michigan accepted me and removed that much loan, I would take that offer in a breath! Please, decline the offer so I can get it 🙂 jk congrats!!

Go ahead and call. I just called Michigan and they told me all first round acceptances were notified yesterday. I'm on the backup/waiting list for now. More acceptances will come the early part of January

OMG same for me. It said "invited for interview" yesterday and now it says "offer made"!! Doe this mean I got into the school?? Feels like I am dreaming right now 🙂))

Unfortunately I think they are just given so there is no application or qualification process. If you ask me my personal opinion I think schools might just really like certain applicants and don't want to lose them to their state schools so they offer scholarships to even the financial playing field.

I agree... I got a 20k renewable from one school and another generous scholarship offer from a second school that would bring me down to instate tuition costs there. 🙂

Well, out of state tuition at Michigan is 48k. So I will owe 18k in tuition each year. I'm guessing I'll graduate with 150,000 in debt. I feel very fortunate. It's honestly surreal.

What exactly did you want to know? The scholarship is generous enough I'll be paying the same as in state students.

did the school notify you on the phone or by email to about the scholarship? I missed the phonecall from them and it didn't say anything about that in my acceptance letter

It was mentioned in my phone call and a separate email was sent detailing the scholarship.

Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking since the summer figured I should finally start participating. I am super psyched to say that I was accepted into Pitt and Tufts and I have an upcoming interview at NYU next week! Thanks to everyone for sharing your stories so far it's been inspiring to read about your journeys. Congrats to those who got into school this week! There's still a lot of interviews and acceptances to come so to those who are still waiting on good news, keep the faith!

Got an acceptance call from Corky last night at UPENNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!

EDIT: I asked her about scholarships, and she said that they sent out a 1st round of offers. They will continue offering scholarships each round, so we just have to wait and pray.

Sorry did you say 48k a year? So 200k for 4 years? Or did you mean a semester?

Interviewed: UCSF (Sent out an email today saying that I am still being considered if I haven't received the 12/1 offer call or a rejection.)

Stats:

And 8 other schools with no news whatsoever. No interviews, no status updates, none. It feels like this is gonna be a lengthy process that lasts through like, Feb/March??!!
