How did I not get rejected from Columbia yet?! I just wanna email them and ask them what they're waiting for.
Sorry to hear that... but you have to keep trying.REJECTION!
School: LECOM
Notification date: 6/26/14
Method of notification: Email
Residency: Minnesota
AADSAS mail-out date: 6/20/14
Application complete date: 6/6/14
GPA (science, overall): 3.51, 3.67
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 20/20/18/22/no
The email was in my junk box and I just saw it. What's weird is that I got an email saying they're reviewing my app and then 15 mins later a rejection email. Like, ouch.
*********UPDATE***********
I called and it was due to "not being a citizen or permanent resident." They only want citizens and permanent residents and I AM a permanent resident so it was a mistake on their part. And not once did they apologize! Like, this is my life and feelings you're playing with, home slice. And then they took about two weeks to send me the supplemental. I kept telling them I couldn't see no damn supplemental in their portal and they kept telling me it was there and they kept making me feel like I was schizo or something until their IT people helped a sister out. LECOM, you're stressing a woman out. But no shade. I still gots love for ya. Supplemental is sent (nice and short) and application fee is paid.
Me too! I have yet to receive a rejection from Harvard, Columbia, and U Penn...Surprisingly Harvard and columbia haven't rejected me yet!
Does the fact that NYU accept 300+ students for a class bother you? And what did you like and dislike about NYU as a student who was looking at prospective dental schools?I don't know much about tufts, but I'm in love with NYU, the program, opportunities and outreach.
W/ or w/out interview? 🙁Rejection at UCSF and UNC
Both withoutW/ or w/out interview? 🙁
No I don't believe that is how it works...you don't interview for an alternate spot. Pre-dec acceptances went out as a first wave and then the schools work through the next round etc...I know it seems like doom and gloom on here but other people I know that have gone through the process keep telling me this is just the beginning and more news will come in the coming months so hang in there and good luck on the interview!Hello all I have a question for anyone willing to answer. I see everyone has talked about post December interviews and am curious as to what it signifies other than the date obviously. I mean does it mean you will be interviewing more for a wait list spot or what? Just out of curiosity.

To make sure I am understanding you correctly. You are saying that they gave out the Pre-Dec acceptances but they didn't fill up the whole class yet and still have spots to award?
What it means is that the schols usually give out the first round of acceptances on December 1st. However, many people are accepted at more than one school, so they will decline any offeres except the one they will accept and where they will end up going to school. That means the other schools that were declined now have more spots open, and sometimes they need to interview more people to fill those spots. Hence, post December interviews.

PREACH!!! It's absolutely ridiculous and unfair to us.. I'm in the same boat. I have to put down a deposit this week and I still have more interviews. So much for saving up for next year... Goodbye money!!Does anyone else think it's a bit ridiculous to HAVE to pay a deposit when you're still waiting to hear back from other schools? Shoot, if I was rich, I would put down deposits for all the schools I was accepted to and make a sound decision once I can truly weigh out my options. It almost feels like I am being forced to commit to a school...after all the time and money I've invested into my dental career/app process, I feel like dental school's could be a little more lax about the deadline. *end rant*
This made me laugh because I was thinking the same thing the other day.How did I not get rejected from Columbia yet?! I just wanna email them and ask them what they're waiting for.
The fact that there are so many students is a little scary, but honestly it seems like they have this all worked out nicely. They seem to have a lot of professors willing to help you with whatever it is that you need, and I feel confident that if I want to specialize and do peds that I will have numerous opportunities to get a lot of pediatric patient exposure... Their research department is huge and I plan on participating in the summer research program which is exciting. Besides the $, all 3 dentists that I know that have gone their are proud NYUCD alum and wouldn't go anywhere else if they had to do it again. That tells me to overlook the 300+ student issue 🙂Does the fact that NYU accept 300+ students for a class bother you? Rejected from Western today
It's great that you think that way. For me, I'm a people person and want to have very strong relationships than the superficial relationships with everyone. So...I doubt NYU will fulfill my needs...but at the same time, I don't doubt the quality of education at NYU.The fact that there are so many students is a little scary, but honestly it seems like they have this all worked out nicely. Same here.
After the 20 "still in review" emails form Western....rejection.
thank you so much for the feedback. you did however scare me when you said "wait list spot". im interviewing at UIC on the 20th of january, i actually thought that was an early post-december interview.
Me too lolI am actually pretty surprised I haven't been rejected by them yet actually.
Yes sir. Not recommended for interview 🙁Notified via email?

Today might be your lucky day! just kidding. I thought the same thing yesterday morning when people were being notified by email. I thought I was still being considered until I got my rejection email later in the afternoon. Best of luck, you still have a chance!
Perhaps they are going in alphabetical order. Sure as heck they aren't doing chronological since I applied the first day it was available -_-
I guess I'll just have to wait for me turn
EDIT: Called WesternU because why not. Apparently I am still under review. I'm certain they are just going alphabetically.. we'll see this week!
Not sure what your last name starts with but I'm "S" and I got my rejection email two days ago. I hope your results are different than mine.
I had a really really nice and genuine interviewer at NYU who addressed my concerns about the large class size and the students seemed to agree with my interviewer as well. You are broken up into smaller groups with a lab instructor and senior students at every single bench during lab.. Which I think is more than many schools have actually. They also stay open on weekends with instructors, and I think the pure # of instructors present makes it really easy to ask for help and get attention if needed. I think a lot of people turn down NYU solely based on the price, which is ok.. But don't take the time to look into the program and find out this kind of info! Best of luck with your decision!Hi Everyone! I have been lucky enough to be accepted to NYU and UB Dental school and LECOM and now I don't know which one to pick. I was originally wait listed at UB so I already put down a deposit at NYU. NYU is closer to home (about a half hour) and is better known. I also feel that in dental school you will gain resources that will help you establish yourself near that school, and I want to end up in Westchester, Long Island or NYC. UB is cheaper (because I am in-state), I went to UB for undergrad so I know the area and the school and have friends that are going there next year as well as years above me. The thing that I am most concerned about is the large class sizes at NYU, I feel as if you don't get enough attention, especially in labs and stuff. LECOM is a new school in a great location with small classes and state of the art facilities and after being in Buffalo for 4 years wouldn't mind going to Florida, but it's a very new school and is PBL. Can someone please help me with this because I am so confused?!
Thanks!! Congrats to all of those that have been accepted!
ps: also for those of you wait listed at Buffalo on Dec 1st, I got off the waitlist today!!! 🙂
I'm S too and my stats are similar to yours. This is so weird. Not sure what your last name starts with but I'm "S" and I got my rejection email two days ago. I hope your results are different than mine.
This is interesting that you have not been able to decide in the past 7 and a half months!PREACH!!! It's absolutely ridiculous and unfair to us.. I'm in the same boat. I have to put down a deposit this week and I still have more interviews. So much for saving up for next year... Goodbye money!!

I agree with this that there are some uncertainty, but here we are talking about the ones who seem to have multiple acceptance offers from their lists. We all have a favorite school (either based on location or cost or reputation...), and then the next one and so on. Unless we just pick them randomly, we should have a pretty good idea which one we would go for, if there are multiple offers. This is just my logic! To be fair, you don't know exactly what your options are until Dec.
I mean, I was pretty set on going to CASE at the beginning of the cycle and they didnt even sent me an interview.
