I would kill for an interview from a top school right now. Well, maybe not kill, just maim or cut.
Ditto... for an interview from any school really. 🙁 It's been 2.5 months since my last interview invite, but that was for a DO. My one and only MD interview invitation was sent nearly 4 MONTHS AGO!I would kill for an interview from a top school right now. Well, maybe not kill, just maim or cut.
WashU invite at 5 am this morning!!!! yay -- coming out of retirement!
So I think there needs to be some amends to all the relativity stuff, time dialation occurs during near light speed travel as well as when you're waiting for emails from med schools. Cause honestly it has only been like two and a half weeks since I got my last invite, but it feels like a few years. Anyone else feel like this?
agree.
i got a few in the beginning. waited. then 2 more. waited. then one more about 2 weeks ago.
but it feels like i've been waiting ages. and the results from my interviews thus far are not what i'd hoped, so i feel like i need more options.
i do not think i am being greedy, just realistic.

Getting an interview from a top 5 school isn't up to your expectations?![]()
i understand that reaction. my point is that interviews are just interviews and wait lists are just wait lists. at the end of this process, some one with one interview and one acceptance may end up at my dream school (whatever that is).
so the waiting and the hoping go on. we may not all be in the same boat, but we are afloat and drifting nevertheless.
(i so just made that up. luvit?)
Hey, you can do whatever you want. If we see you posting a Penn vs Yale thread in a few months, you'll probably hear it then, though.
congrats on Wisconsin, btw!!!
Thanks!
no comment on my cool boat metaphor?? i didn't get an "S" by accident, dude. only wish the schools gave a crap.
Heh, too bad you're not Canadian, they only care north of the border 🙂
you are having a craaaazy few days! hey when were you complete at NYU? I've already kind of assumed rejection but there is a small part of me that holds on to hope just because i want to be in NY so badThank you so much lucky thread! What I've been praying for... NYU! So excited!

i worry about the whole getting fired for taking too much time off thing a lot too...they knew i'd be going on interviews before they hired me, but i think the last girl that had this job got 3ish interviews, and i've had a lot....I know! I'm starting to get worried about scheduling them all. I hope I don't get fired! But if I do.. eh.. 🙄
I submitted the application in mid-August but did not receive the "You are complete" e-mail until Sept. 26th (LORs went out late). So yes there is hope and I really hope you get an invite from NYU (and all the other NYC schools)!

Should i worry that I was complete more than a month (about a month and a half) before all the people getting NYU interviews these days? I always tell people not to worry about these things, but the fact that they havent mailed out any rejections yet makes me think that maybe my app is on that pile waiting for that day when they do send them out.
yes, yes they are...although i thought it was feb, maybe it is march. Either way, i'm pretty sure my app is already in that pile, and fairly unhappy about it. But as long as i haven't received the letter, i'm leaving some room for hope.Isn't NYU one of those schools that sends out bulk rejections in the March timeframe? I seem to remember reading that somewhere...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure mine is on that pile too. If that's the case, I kinda wish they would just put us out of our misery and reject us now!yes, yes they are...although i thought it was feb, maybe it is march. Or, perhaps they've already made their decisions but just haven't started sending out rejections (or send them out in batches and they decided before the next batch was sent out). A sad thought, but it's possible. And, at the risk of sounding pessimistic (although it's realistic in my case, I think), probably the most likely scenario for me at most schools.I think some of the schools have forgotten about us...or worse lost our applications! 🙁 That's the only logical explanation I have at the moment.

holy cow now that is a great collection of interviews!! congrats. may i ask when you were complete at harvard?8 week hiatus turned into interview invites at Duke, Emory, and Harvard NP.
The other thread didn't help me any (invites came after it was retired), so I refuse to ask this one for good luck... But I d hope this is encouraging news to someone out there who thought it was over for them. Particularly if you applied late, it doesn't seem like there's any reason to despair yet.
You most certainly may, but I think there's more to their order of invites than your completion date. I think they may go based on your secondary submission, instead of when they complete your letters, but it's just a theory of mine. I was marked complete 9/24, but submitted secondary around 9/10 and I was (probably) held up by a research prof's letter which came separate from my committee's. Hope this helps. 👍holy cow now that is a great collection of interviews!! congrats. may i ask when you were complete at harvard?
thanks! haha i kinda hope that's not true, but only because they had a lot of trouble with my letters, and for some reason i submitted my secondary in early august, my letters were available aug 10th, but i wasn't complete there until the middle/end of october i believe. So i feel like i have absolutely no idea when i'll be looked at. To add to that, the dean of admissions told us at an info session that they have one specific person who reads all of the princeton apps, so i'm sure that'll effect when i'm read too. I guess it doesn't really matter since i don't actually expect anything to come of it, but just curious. You most certainly may, but I think there's more to their order of invites than your completion date. I only guess that because there have been a few people who have received interview invites before being marked complete.thanks! haha i kinda hope that's not true, but only because they had a lot of trouble with my letters, and for some reason i submitted my secondary in early august, my letters were available aug 10th, but i wasn't complete there until the middle/end of october i believe.
