Good Morning,

Ready for another wonderful week!! Good luck to those of you with interviews this week. I have my first on this Friday!!!

Has anyone heard anything from GWU or FDU (Ph.D) programs?

Thanks 🙂

Good luck on your interview, Psyched4Life!

Has anyone heard anything from Rutgers (PsyD) or Seton Hall (PhD)? They're my mystery schools right now.

rutgers psyd are meeting today to decide then notifying us by email - so i guess we should be hearing today or tomorrow?

Just spoke with a Drexel graduate assistant. Because they received so many more applications this year than usual, they still haven't finalized all of their interview invites. Seeing as the interviews are scheduled for 2/16 and 2/19, I assume they should be letting us know very soon!

Someone posted earlier about Teachers College, I applied to the Counseling Psych Ph.D program and just received about my third email from them saying they are reviewing my application. So I guess no progress on that yet, dunno if that helped anyone

I received the same email(s) for clinical at TC. I guess that means we're still in the running? I don't know what's going on anymore. 🙂

From Baylor's Clinical Psych website:

" IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
APPLICANTS WHO WILL BE INVITED FOR AN INTERVIEW WILL RECEIVE AN E-MAIL INVITATION FROM OUR DEPARTMENT STARTING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH. OUR INTERVIEW WEEKEND WILL BE MARCH 2, 3, OR 5TH.

I am a current student at Baylor. We have a party Saturday night for all the interviewees, so if your making travel plans try to be here Saturday night (even if you're interviewing Monday). Otherwise you will still get to have lunch with the students. I am looking forward to meeting some of you!🙂

I know that the admissions offices intentionally avoid phone calls during this time of year!!! It's so frustrating... THEY NEVER ANSWER!!!! Nor do they have clear answers about the status of the application process on their websites.

columbia tc (counseling psych phd) just sent me an email saying I was missing LOR and my writing sample, even though I sent in 3 (they only require 2) and I remember sending in my writing sample because I was pissed off at myself (and my school) for printing it double-sided instead of just one side. Anyway, that's the only thing i heard about today.

I called Fordham today and they said that they'd sent of some interview invites last week but would be sending more this week (to the Clinical PhD)...so maybe there's still hope... Someone mentioned though on this board that they called the admissions who was able to tell them if they were rejected, I didn't dare ask!

Other than the 2 folks that posted that they had been called/e-mailed anyone else heard anything?

They sent me an email a couple of weeks ago saying that I was missing my statement of purpose, which I definitely sent in...

I'm with you- please don't tell me if I've been rejected if I can still hold out hope for an interview for another week! Let's keep this dream alive!

Has anyone heard from UWO? I had a phone interview last week with my POI, and was invited down to see my POI's lab and meet his graduate students (I'm going next week; I get to choose the day). However, the UWO clinical psych website says they have a clinical psych "Interview Day" during the second or third week of February, so I'm a little confused.

Has anyone heard anything about the Interview Day?

Got an invite from University of Memphis (clinical) by phone from my POI. Interview day is 3/2.

Broke down and called the Clinical Psychology Grad Admissions lady today, and she said that students with interviews were contacted via email and phone on Friday and that snail mail invites should arrive shortly. this puts me out of the running unless it was faulty intel, but thought I'd pass it along since I did speak to someone there. sigh.

Ouch!! Thanks for the info.

they emailed me a couple weeks ago saying i was missing all my writing samples, which i also definitely sent in.

I guess they are a little disorganized there to say the least.

so does that mean there is still a chance to get an interview invite via snail mail? Why would they call some and use mail for others?

I haven't heard a peep from George Washington's PhD program... I don't think anyone else has, either. There's still hope!

Has anyone heard from UofH's Counseling Psych program?

Thanks...

Wow, thats awesome. I hope to be receiving a similar email!! Although feb 26th isnt too much notice, huh.

Good luck to all the other Rutgers hopefulls!

I think she meant that the they were just contacting the same interviewees three different ways - last Fri via email and phone, then the paper mail invites this week to seal the deal. I can only assume, but that's how it sounded.

Congrats on Rutgers! Your post is going to cause much excitment/unhappiness on this forum! Do you or anyone know if Rutgers Psy.D. is sending out invites in one large batch? Or are there different waves?

was it a mass email? or addressed only your email?>

the Rutgers PsyD was not emailed specifically to my address, so it looked like a mass email, but as usual, we can never be sure.

Anyone heard anything from the clinical programs at McGill or York?

Has anyone heard from Case Western or North Dakota? They both had late due dates so it isn't surprising that they are still out, but I just want to make sure that I haven't been passed by. Thanks!

Well...15 schools and only one rejection so far...and now one interview! I received a personal email from the program director inviting me to an open house and interview for the PsyD program at Pacific University. This is the only PsyD program I applied to, there rest were all clinical PhDs...does anyone else think this is a sign? I hope it's more a sign of things to come (i.e., more interview invites...and not something more disappointing. Here's to things looking up!

I recieved a wait list letter from DePaul's Ph.D. in Clinical Psych. program. The letter states that the school completed a "preliminary review of more than 290 application" of which I was highly rated but not in the top 10%. But rather than a rejection, the letter goes on to say that I am being placed on a wait list. What are the chances that of the people who are interviewed and then offered an acceptance that DePaul does not get enough people to accept their offers. In addition, not all of the interviewed applicants can and will get an offer but many are still fine apllicants who the school does not want to lose right away. Therefore, it would seem that DePaul will place some of those applicants on a wait list too. This means that they are even higher up than those waitlisted by a mere letter with no interview. Any ideas on what the purpose of this is? Also, has anyone ever heard of a waitlisted applicant moving off the wait list and onto the A-list?

I had pretty much given up hope for any and all programs I hadn't heard from yet, but I just got a pleasant phone call from Adelphi inviting me to interview. I'll be going March 6th. The prospect of a group interview with 6-8 others is terrifying, btw.

I don't know if anyone else is just now hearing from Adelphi, but the guy I just talked to said they would be doing interviews up until 2/26 and then the week of 3/5-3/9.

Man... that makes me a little less paranoid about UW... now that I know at least one other school might potentially want me. I don't feel like it was such a fluke.

It has been pretty quiet on here lately, good luck to everyone with the interviews you have and to all those you don't know about yet!

Well, I was told that Depaul only invited 12 students for an interview (i'm assuming this number is based on which track you applied to). So, if they offered 6 people admission, and only 4 accepted then they have additional openings. So, lets say they went back to their alternates (the other 6 people) and they said no, well then they still have two spots open and would then move on to their wait listed applicants. Not all of the students who received interviews would place the program at the top of their lists. I interviewed at a school recently in which the program had to make 5 offers to different students before they received a taker, so there is still hope.

I got a similar email about my LOR as well, so I emailed and them and they responded a few days later saying that it was emailed out in mistake! Apparently, they are still "reviewing" our apps and will be in touch with us via email in the next few weeks

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but this is what I know about the DePaul child track: They are interviewing 26 people and accepting 3. Apparently, they do not use a mentor system, so you are applying for the program rather than for an individual lab.

Got my first rejection today ... oh well... what can ya do ... im just glad i heard something! im moving on and preparing for my interview (at a school id much rather be at!) on friday!

I felt that the application did not give space to say a lot of things that I had wanted to say, so I crammed as much in as possible. After speaking with the program director, I got the impression that it was not appropriate to name professors. I was nervous about this, but I was also happy to have the space to say other things.

I thought the same thing, but it is good to know that others approached it from a similar direction (and that the director felt it was not appropriate to). Good luck.

Any more word on whether invites were only for the dual program or for the general clinical program? I haven't received a rejection letter from them yet either, so I am still holding out hope. (I applied to the general program.) QUOTE]

Someone posted and said they received an invite for an interview to the dual program. The process of applying was a bit strange as I applied for both clinical and ws, but through the ws department. I called the contact for the ws program and asked her about interviews and she said they are conducted with the clinical interviews and that the clinical department handles them, which I believe means that any info about interviews for the dual program would also apply to the clinical (general) track. So, I hope that is helpful. Here's hoping that they just haven't contacted us yet!

Hey GiantSteps- Hold out hope! I work at a private practice with lots and lots of child psychologists; some are PsyDs and some are PhDs, some went to great schools, others went to the ones that would take them. I will tell you, however, that two of the clinicians (that I know of) were waitlisted and got in! Keep in mind this was like 10 years ago, but take heart! One was waitlisted and accepted at Washington State University and the other was waitlisted and accepted to the University of Denver (!), even after he had given up all hope- he was only accepted before April 15th to a different school he did not want to attend. Obviously, getting waitlisted is frustrating and sometimes has fruitless propects, but don't give up yet. DePaul may be contacting you with good news. If not, at least you can know you were waitlisted and that hundreds of other applicants didn't even come close.

I have interviews at:
FSPP Psy.D. March 3rd
GSPP Psy.D. March 16th

Has anyone heard from the following programs?

University of Hawaii - Clinical
Iowa State - Counseling
Loma Linda - Clinical
University of Kentucky - Counseling

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
