Got LSU New Orleans today. I was just joking the other day about how I wasted my $$ applying there. Has anyone heard if this program will be up and running by July 06?

I talked to Dr. DeBlieux at ACEP and he said, "Of course." The situation at Charity is still up in the air - it will likely be torn down and rebuilt. The hospital itself didn't take in any water - except for the basement where the power grid was. I know they will be having a program though. 👍

Word is they are a go.. Since they are the only show in town I am sure they will find work for you somewhere. Why not email them and see what they say? Someone mentioned they spoke with Dr. Dibleux (the PD until this yr) at ACEP and he said they are gonna roll. BTW I met him at SAEM and he seems like one of the coolest attendings..G/l..

I received my invite Sunday night and my last name starts with a C, so they probably are telling the truth about reviewing things/handing out invites alphabetically.

No invites the last 2 days for me. I emailed Temple to check the status of my application and they said they received a huge number of applications and have not gotten to mine yet.

How many interviews should one go on?

No real solid answer but my conclusions based on the forum... You should do 10-15 maybe more if you arent competetive.

When should one begin to cancel interviews and how far in advance of an already scheduled interview?

As soon as you know you dont want to interview there. There isnt a real good answer to how far in advance. The sooner the better. I would say a min of 2 weeks notice is courteous.. 1 month would be ideal. All that being said if you arent interested then I guess you could drop whenever. They dont want to waste their time.. and you dont want to waste theirs.

How many interviews above one's presumed rank list should we go on?

If you have interviews at your top 10. then do them and be done. Why interview at places you know you wont rank? The thing is sometimes the gems are the ones you dont know about.
