Weird with Buffalo.. My buddy is rotating there now and they are interviewing him during the rotation. I am planning on 12-15 more like 12 though. Things are easy and complex as I am cancelling based on my S.O. (significant other). Good luck getting Buffalo! My bud likes it there.

I talked to Dr. DeBlieux at ACEP and he said, "Of course." The situation at Charity is still up in the air - it will likely be torn down and rebuilt. The hospital itself didn't take in any water - except for the basement where the power grid was. I know they will be having a program though. 👍

I did - received it about three weeks ago and have since cancelled it.

Word is they are a go.. Since they are the only show in town I am sure they will find work for you somewhere. Why not email them and see what they say? Someone mentioned they spoke with Dr. Dibleux (the PD until this yr) at ACEP and he said they are gonna roll. BTW I met him at SAEM and he seems like one of the coolest attendings..G/l..

BTW the reason I asked about MCG was when I called they were like yeah I dont know if we got that far. I asked what that meant.. Was I far down some list? She said no they go through it alphabetically and since i am near the bottom.. This seems like a weird way to do it and im not sure if she was just trying to make me feel better..Anyhow I got them today 🙂

Ectopic, not that it matters but I got an MCG invite today and my last name starts with a "W." Congrats though!

I received my invite Sunday night and my last name starts with a C, so they probably are telling the truth about reviewing things/handing out invites alphabetically.

No invites the last 2 days for me. I emailed Temple to check the status of my application and they said they received a huge number of applications and have not gotten to mine yet.
 
Seems like a real weird way to go through apps. I would have thought they would do it by when the apps came in. Anyhow I am happier than a pig in ...... Now I need Emory...and U Arizona!

I got U of AZ EM/Peds, but probably didn't send them out with regular EM interviews.
 
Got East Carolina today but likely to decline. Ectopic, I got MCG 3 weeks ago and my last name starts with M. So who knows. Anyway, congrats! Would you mind sharing why you feel it is a great program? Perhaps a PM is more approriate to save the integrity of the thread! Gracias.

No real solid answer but my conclusions based on the forum... You should do 10-15 maybe more if you arent competetive.

As soon as you know you dont want to interview there. There isnt a real good answer to how far in advance. The sooner the better. I would say a min of 2 weeks notice is courteous.. 1 month would be ideal. All that being said if you arent interested then I guess you could drop whenever. They dont want to waste their time.. and you dont want to waste theirs.

If you have interviews at your top 10. then do them and be done. Why interview at places you know you wont rank? The thing is sometimes the gems are the ones you dont know about.

Has anyone out there heard from NYU/Bellevue or the New York Presbyterian (Columbia/Cornell) programs? Those are the big ones I'm biting my nails about.

So far interviewing at: Jacobi/Monte, Cook, Penn, LIJ, Mt. Sinai (NYC), SUNY Downstate, Yale, Northwestern, Boston Medical, and MGH/BWH
 
I'm personally interviewing at 6 places. The other EM folks at my school are doing 6, 8, 12 (those are just who I know so far).
