Hey guys!

Fellow D1 from LSU wishing all of you applicants good luck.

Thought I'd start a thread for you all to stay on top with the application process.

If there's any way that I can help you guys, just ask.

So post those interview invites/acceptances!

I'm having my very first interview this Friday, any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Be yourself! Interview day should be enjoyable. They won't try to "grill" you with any tough questions. Just answer honestly, dress professional, and enjoy the day with your fellow interviewees.

Hey all. Pretty new to the forum, don't post very often. Finished my AADSAS on June 5th. Sent off my secondary app July 19th. No invite yet. Andrew, are you OOS? I remember Dr. Cheramie saying that IS interviews start in September.

GPA: 3.7
Science GPA: 3.67
AA: 21
PAT: 23

Hi THS, I am OOS. LSU do indeed interview all OOS applicants first, so if you are a Louisiana resident, don't worry just yet. I'll let you guys know how the interview goes. Good luck to all !

Good luck man!

good luck man. You will do fine.

Thanks for starting this thread Trey!

Have any in state applicants received an interview invite yet?

I need to start on that dang chalk carving!

Andrew, how did the interview go?

The interview was great, all students and faculty at LSU were the nicest people I've ever met, very down to earth. They tried to calm us down and made the interview process much less stressful. I had an 1 on 1 interview and a 2 on 1 interview. Both were around 30 min or so. The chalk carving and group project was quite fun. Don't worry about the timing, 35 min is sufficient IMO. Most people finished with 5 mins to spare. THS, are you an Arkansas resident?

That's so great to hear! I was wondering if you thought the interview feedback was still pretty accurate to what you experienced? I remember reading about someone saying 40-50 questions. Is that true?

No, I'm in-state. I have plenty of time until my interview, I'm sure (no invite yet, but confident.)

I'm glad it went well!
Reading statements like this always calms my nerves a bit. I was able to speak with a few D1's during Pre-Dental 101, they seemed really down to earth and willing to help each other out.

Sneakerblues21, it is true that most people were asked up to 60 questions from a list. It all depends on who you have for your 1 on 1 interview. I and the guy that went before me were asked only 5 questions, we just chatted for the rest of the interview which was very nice of him.

Oh that's awesome! Good to know, thank you!

Interview invite for Aug 23rd. In-state applicant.

Are you a reapplicant GSU? And when did they notify you

Not a reapplicant to LSU. They notified me Aug 5.

Does anyone know when the last interview date is?

Does anyone know when the last interview date is?

I think Dr. Cheramie mentioned in October. I can't remember the exact date though. This was the update under the school decision section on aadsas.

"All Interview invitations have been sent. If you have not received an invitation and want to talk to Dr. Cheramie, please call after January 1st."

Wow, LSU is really on it this cycle! Everyone from these upcoming interviews keep us updated.

Good luck to everyone interviewing today!

So how did it go, recent interviewees? I am excited/anxious for this Friday!

How's your chalk carving going?

It's been fine so far, it's frustrating how non-uniform the chalk is that I've been practicing with. Hopefully they choose really straight and round chalk for the interview.

it's good that you are practicing on non-uniform chalk. The chalk for the interview will be the same.

True, my chalk was like a banana. You just gotta make it work.

Hahaha that's about right 🙄 . I'm assuming the texture of the chalk is the same as well? (Relatively soft, crumbles easily.)

Yea, pretty much exactly he same. Just be careful that their knives are very very sharp, so carve a little bit at a time. I bought a cheap and dull generic one to practice with, so I was so used to carving with lots of pressure. I had to get used to that really quickly.

Hey, y'all! I interviewed on August 23rd so if anyone on this forum was in my interview group, pm me!

If you have an interview scheduled or you're waiting for one, don't be nervous. Everyone is SO nice at lsu it's crazy. I'm sure you guys have been in contact with dr. Cheramie, but if not, he's great, and really made us laugh and calm down. We started off watching finding nemo clips, and moved on to the chalk carving. If you practiced, you should be fine. I had 5 or so minutes to spare. I highly recommend practicing with imperfect chalk. The ones we got were a tad rough around the edges.

Group project was fun. The students really got to know each other (like I said, if you were in my group, message me!). One-on-one was really relaxed. My interviewer asked me a couple of questions. Two-on-one was more conversational. The important thing to remember is to relax. I know it's easier said than done, but be yourself! The interviewers are really nice so don't be afraid.

Good luck, guys!
