It doesn't match any previous cycle activity, and I do not think they are rapidly changing their acceptance trend this cycle anyway.

Yes. Emphasis was put on April.
 
I interviewed end of November and I still haven't heard back. Anyone interviewed end of November and heard back?

I think it is more likely that post December candidates will be considered for future acceptances but then again if you interviewed end of November you could very well still hear back as well. Since the school doesn't give us any information whatsoever and puts out a broad range of acceptance dates "from now until August" :bang: then that means that anyone who hasn't been given a rejection is actively being considered, but to what degree of consideration, nobody knows 🙁

My interview was on last day of November so I think they will put me under post-December candidates. Do you know anyone who interviewed around the same time and heard back?

I know of maybe two people who interviewed at the end of November who heard back on 12/16. I agree I think you are still being considered! I just really really really wish Maryland would give us some sort of smoke signal or something to notify us of when they will decide. It's not likely anyone is going to wait until August for a decision when they have other offers looming and the new application cycle begins in June every year. Maryland registration for Fall classes begins in April as well so they definitely need to tell us closer to the end of this month and April so that newly accepted people can at least register and sign up for Fall classes and figure out living situations.

August acceptance is possible, even after starting a second round of AADSAS applications.

Well I hope we all don't wait until August for a simple acceptance decision. It is SO strange that no acceptances have been given since 1/20

Negative, I go to UMB. You dont register for classes yourself and they dont fill up because you didnt register because its set for the whole class. You do not choose your classes like in undergrad.

Its likely that the reason you didn't hear is the class size is unknown because they havent gotten word from everyone who has deposits out. Basically those seats are being held until they know the exact # because otherwise there would be too many people in the class and they would not have room to seat everyone in the labs. There are people who are accepted in June and some even the week before classes begin. That being said, they're not going to accept everyone, they will re evaluate applicants if there are seats. Its the same at every school. You're not entitled to an acceptance by a certain date out of convenience. Admissions works really hard and goes out of there way and there are over 2,000 applicants per cycle. There will be housing somewhere if you do get in.

Oops well I was given that information from another UMB student. My mistake. Guess they aren't with the program. So what you're saying is even though there was a deposit deadline of February 20th for the last batch of acceptances, there's a chance they haven't received all those deposits from that batch?

When I said that nobody will wait, I wasn't saying anyone is entitled to a decision, I'm just saying that waiting until August like they say over the phone is ridiculous because who wants to wait until a week out from school to hear back? A little insane. My post was not supposed to be interpreted as having feelings of entitlement so I think you missed me there.

I would also keep in mind that unlike your cycle that had about 4-5 acceptance waves Pre-April 1st, everyone on this thread who is waiting to hear back is just a little puzzled because there have been only three acceptance waves so far counting December 1st. Maybe that's why everyone on here is a little uncertain of why Maryland is taking so long past the last deposit deadline of 2/20.

Current D1, just for those who have been still waiting to hear back from UMD, i know it's really stressful and it sucks, but you guys just have to patience and try not to freak out. FYI, I have talked to several my classmates, and some of them had a interview around November and got accepted around late April, or someone had a interview on October and got accepted around May. So just hang in there guys!! and keep your head up!!
 
Just a heads up that UMB is on spring break next week so there most likely won't be a wave of acceptances this week (3/17) or next week (3/24). So the next possible date is 3/31! I've also heard that the admissions committee has met multiple times since the last acceptance wave (1/20) so I assume decisions on applicants have already been made, they are just holding off for some unknown reason. I know the wait is brutal but it'll all be worth it!! Wishing the best for everyone still waiting!!
 
Just got an email that classes are full, asking if I would like to be on a waitlist in case there is a new opening for seats

If they have already decided about people who interviewed in Feb, where does that leave people who interviewed in Jan? Did anyone who interviewed in Jan get waitlisted?

What does the email say? I thought it was a regular waitlist email that people received.
 
Has anyone gotten accepted today or heard of anyone that got accepted today? I've only heard from people who got waitlisted or didn't receive an email at all. If there were no acceptances today, that could mean good news to come for waitlisted people....

The email basically says that the class is full, and that your name has been placed on a list of applicants being considered for admission. They then ask to let them know if you want to be placed on the waiting list and that according to past trends spots should be opening up by April 1st
 
I interviews 1/11 haven't heard back anything. People who got waitlisted. Did the email specifically say the class size is full ??
 
If they have already decided about the waitlist then they have chosen the ones to accept to fill the class. I guess that means the acceptance batch would go out soon
