Hello everyone, sorry if this is a dumb question. My interview is on thursday afternoon session. I have an exam on wed that I cannot miss so I would have to catch a flight super early thursday. Cape air estimate time of arrival is 11:25 AM. Interview is 11:45 AM. Realistically can I make it off the plane, catch an uber and get to the school. Thank you for your help. I really want this interview but I have "guested" in too many classes for my professor to give me any chances. Any advice is appreciated on what I should do. Thanks again!
There’s no Uber :/ just kirksville oats which is like a slow taxi. The airport is about 15 minutes from school. I haven’t been on cape air, but you know how airlines usually keep you sitting on the track for a while before finally letting you off the plane.

With that being said, I was late to my interview and made it into the class. The admissions person litterally called me to let me know that I have an interview as I was walking there. So embarrassing. Dont risk it. I got hella lucky

My application has been complete for several months now, but I have not had a rejection or interview invite. Does anyone know when they let you know either way? I know it's still early, I just have heard nothing for awhile now.

I still haven’t seen a change in my application either. I wish we could get an update. Does anyone know if they do a lot of post December interviews?

Don't know for sure but I would think that they probably do. If I remember correctly someone from their admissions office said that they will interview until the spring.

OOS D1 here to answer questions.
I have not heard anything from them and getting worried. My application is under review and everything has a check mark beside it except application complete. Since it has been over 2 weeks should I call to check on it?
Does the school have a cut off for DAT AA? Do you know the lowest AA they accept or what the lowest score you've heard that is in yours or previous years class?

I know someone that was accepted in Feb., months before starting.

Super late and last minute notice but just curious if anyone wants to split a room for interview tomorrow AM session? Room will be from tomorrow night to thursday morning. PM me or just reply here thanks!

Do you know if anyone in your class was accepted with 17AA and 3.1 SGPA OAGPA 3.4?

Hey I am a D1 OOS! Here for any questions regarding the program or surrounding area! I noticed a lot of you are commenting about not receiving an interview or any update reagurding your application. What I would do is check in and ask if there is any other information that you can possibly supply to improve your chances of getting an interview. And make contact about admissions once a month and try to be super personable with one particular person and always check in with them, anything more might be an overkill! A lot of movement usually happens a month after first initially acceptances and more interviews are offered throughout March, usually. I am assuming since they’re increasing the class size from 42 to 63 they’ll still go that long as well! I can necessarily speak for the numbers that admissions is looking for reguarding DAT or GPA. However, if you don’t get in always always stay in school and retake your DAT! Ive heard of people with 17 AA on their DAT have gotten accepted but I am not sure about the other things on their application that would make them a strong candidate! Hope that helps! DOnt hesitate to ask anything more!

You are so helpful and I appreciate any advice you can give. My application was actually submitted and verified Oct. 13th. Can I PM you with a few more of my details?

Sure, I am not sure how helpful Ill be again, there are tons of variables to consider in the admissions process and more I’m sure I dont even know of! Just keep positive as hard as that sounds! Remember the squeaky door gets the grease!

Anyone know if they call or email on the 3rd?

Hey guys, not sure if anyone would happen to know, but I just received an interview at MOSDOH today. Very grateful, as I unfortunately wasn't accepted yet to the 2 other schools I had interviews at (one being ASDOH haha).

My question was just if anyone happens to know if there are any interviews past December--the only one I saw on the portal is the 13th of this month. Of course, I will be willing to go if that's all they have but I was just curious if anyone knows if there would be others. I was planning on calling them tomorrow too. Thanks so much!

Would assume/hope that there would be. Would you mind sharing your stats and/or letting us know what you find out?

Sure! I will post again when I find out more info regarding interview dates 🙂 hahaha my stats are really like at the ends of the spectrum, so I don't know how useful it'd be...I'm a 3rd time reapplicant:
Undergrad: ~3.0 overall gpa, ~2.7 science...
Graduate (Master's): ~3.8
DAT: 24

Update: there are more interview dates being added for the new year. The next one would be at the end of January, so I think that would work out a little better for me! Thanks everyone.

Have you interviewed here in the past? If so, what did they say you needed to improve upon?

Anyone know how many they took this round?

They replied to my email! I was planning to call today if they didn't but it worked out.

Have you interviewed here in the past? If so, what did they say you needed to improve upon?
I applied here my first cycle, no interview the first time before I did my Master's, and I did apply to the sister school (ASDOH, no interview). When I asked ASDOH for ways to improve last year for this cycle, they had mentioned more community service hours and raising my GPA (a lot of schools that I had asked told me that my ugrad GPA is the biggest concern by far). I was able to get an interview at ASDOH this cycle. I realize this info might not help you cause MOSDOH doesn't require the community service letter and whatnot but since the mission statement is the same, idk just thought I'd mention it! My Master's definitely helped me a lot when I think of my experience this cycle vs previous ones, but unfortunately yesterday was a very heartbreaking day for me lol cause I wasn't accepted.

Anyway, I feel like we shouldn't lose hope...from last year's thread, they invite people up until March 1st? So fingers crossed it'll work out for everyone!

Anyone know how many they took this round?

I'm not sure exactly how many people they just accepted, but someone on the bootcamp interview page on facebook started a poll to try to measure this for all schools. Not many people have responded for MOSDOH... You could maybe check for that to be updated though? MOSDOH is also increasing their class size from 42 to 63 for the next year, so I'm sure they will have a few more interviews especially after people make decisions. I will be turning down my spot soon, so hopefully that will bring good things for someone else in this group!

If I interviewed in sep and haven’t received a call is it safe to say it’s a rejection?

Def not! You’re still in it. Keep the school updated on your hours and as soon as your semester grades are finalized, send a transcript. Be sure to call to ask if they have received the updates. It will remind them that 1. You interviewed so you're clearly awesome. 2. You’re not afraid to be an adult and call 3. You’re still involved in serving your community 4. You’re still getting experience shadowing 5. You’re working hard in your classes 6. You’re still interested in MOSDOH 7. You aren’t giving up this easily

People accepted on Dec 1st have 30 days to make a decision and place the first deposit. Plenty of people will turn MOSDOH down for their state school. There will continue to be acceptances from both predec interviews and postdec interviews.

Those of you that know you are accepting another school should decline MOSDOH’s offer asap to speed up the process. Withholding a spot will only increase the stress of your peers that are waiting anxiously to hear back. With that being said, myself other current students on here are willing to answer your questions to help you decide if you are having trouble choosing between school

Hi, to everyone waiting... I will not be accepting my offer and it will be an open spot for someone soon.
This has been a difficult decision! The people at MOSDOH are amazing, faculty/staff and students alike. I believe the education component is excellent as well. I honestly have nothing but really good things to say about my opinion of MOSDOH!
The location is probably the only aspect I didn't prefer, mostly because of having to move twice. (To Kirksville and then to St. Louis)
Good Luck to everyone and stay optimistic!

Hey p_arrowhead5! If you don't mind me asking, what masters program did you do? Did you like it?

OOS D1 here. Willing to answer any questions. Highly encourage you guys to reach out to as many of us here as possible to learn more about the school from different perspectives. You can also message me privately if you want to.

Hi, I’m thinking about going here but trying to decide between a different school. Can you give me a list of pros and cons to help with my decision? Thanks!!

OOS D1 here to answer questions.

Hello, I was recently accepted here and at UNE on Dec 3- can't even tell you how blessed I feel with 2 acceptances. I am really interested in attending here but I have a few questions about the clinical side of the school. I know that you are a D1 and may not be able to speak to that but I am trying to connect with some one who can speak about the clinical years of MOSDOH (Strength and weaknesses)- may be you can connect me to a D3/D4?

Following are my question for D3/D4 year?
1) Is there a sufficient patient pool for all the students? At any point do we ever have to schedule our own patients?
2) What kind of support is available to students when they are specifically struggling with a particular areas(s) during clinic?
3) Are students happy with the algorithm match that occurs for D4 offsite rotations?
4) Overall, what's the general vibe in the clinic at St.Louis?

I also have questions for you for D1/D2 year?
1) What are your thoughts about cramming one course/week? What is the stress level? Do you find it doable?
2) How are you guys being prepared for the integrated boards? I didn't get a very clear answer about this in my interview!
3) Is D2 mostly sim lab with fewer courses? I think this is what our student ambassadors stated but I wanted to double check?
4) Do you feel like being at a disadvantage because you guys don't have access to the clinic during the first two years?

Also, any thing that you like/dislike about the school?Or information that helped you decide on this school! Sorry about the long questions- my husband and my four yo daughter will be moving with me so I really want to find out the maximum amount of information before the first deposit due date!

I am blessed to be in the same boat as you. Which two schools are you deciding in b/w?

I have not received an interview yet, so anyone that hasn’t received an interview yet, do you know of any updates for when they will be inviting for post december interviews or if they are?

So I just got this email from admissions. I had a pre-December interview but didn’t hear anything back until today. I’m just a little confused. Does this mean that I was accepted or am I just being too optimistic?
Please help me decipher this. Thanks!!

I got the same thing

Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using SDN mobile

I am wondering if a LOI would help at all in improving my chances of receiving an interview invite? I feel like different schools have different stances on a LOI and so would it be a good idea to send one to this school or would I just be bugging them with one?

They just want to know if you still want to be considered for MOSDOH since a lot of people have accepted offers from other schools at this point. It doesn't necessarily mean anything other than that. I would just reply and tell them whether or not you want to be considered.

Got a missed call from MOSDOH today, called them back but got the voicemail. Guessing it is an acceptance.I interviewed back in September.

Just got accepted today but I have already gotten into my state school so ill be turning down this offer. Good luck to those who are still waiting you guys will hear some good news soon 🙂 I have until Feb 4th I think to pay my fee so that the 3rd round of acceptance will be around there. Beautiful small campus! You guys will enjoy your interviews

It’s asking if you’ve been accepted and committed to another school.

I’d do it forsure!!! I did it to all the schools I interviewed at unless they strictly said during interviews not to! The only one that said that was Roseman. So unless ATSU has changed it worked for me. I’d only do a letter of intent if you’ve received an interview. For now I would update them on anything acedemically or work wise and express interest, there’s a huge difference!

Got accepted yesterday on the 4th via phone call. Will not be attending

Hello everyone! So I have not received an II yet and I am thinking about sending in a letter of interest. Would anyone want to read what I have written so far? It would mean the world. Thanks!
