August 2006 MCATers -

This is the official score release thread for the August 2006 MCAT. Feel free to post serious information and announcements about the impending score release. You can post your scores in here when the time comes as well. Post any random musings in the Official August 2006 Score Release Countdown Thread so that we can keep this one uncluttered. 🙂

Best of luck to everyone waiting!

congrats to all of you who did well, you surely deserved it!

as for me, i can't help but feel a little sorry for myself because i didn't score as well as i wanted to, esp since you guys are so smart, but i'm confident everything will turn out fine.

once again congrats to all of you!!!!!!!!! if you're gonna be retaking it with me join the club!

41Q (14PS, 14VR, 13BS)

1) Form AG

2)Practice Scores 39-43

3)Kaplan Course

4)Sublime. Thankful. Congratulations to all who have worked so hard!

You my friend are Anastasis's new Score twin. Sorry Dr. durden someone's beat you to the title. 😉

OK, so my high prediction was 35...and I nailed a 35...except not at ALL in the fashion I had expected =(

14V (holy smokes 99.9-99.9%ile!!!)
12P (yay!!!)
9B (DOH!!! MISSED THE 10?)

And worst of all...

AN L IN THE WRITING...WTF!?!?!!? They're going to think I'm completely ******ed, that I'm like crazy brilliant at reading but for some reason I can't write my words out. Ugh. 3.3-9.7th %ile...no joke...jesus...

This is what happens when you try to write on 2 hours of sleep =( The same thing happened during the one practice where I didn't really sleep, my other sections were ok but my writing looked like garbage.

What really sucks is that during the real MCAT I totally went over the checklist of their requirements and I'm pretty damned sure I met their stupid 4 points or whatever...wtf?!!?
It was a few years ago, but I scored an L on the writing portion.

I was told on several of my interviews that it's a red flag regarding communication abilities but, given the subjectivity of that part of the exam, as soon as an interviewer can tell that it's not an issue, it's irrelevant.

/32L and multiple acceptances.
//Oh, and I scored that as a published author with a few writing awards to my name. 🙂

Dude, SDN does not represent the applicant pool. A 36 (97th Percentile!!!) will make your application experience very comfortable!!!

hehe, I know. Seriously, though, congrats to those with the killer scores. Make sure you mention it every couple of sentence during the interviews

PS 10 VS 11 BS 12 P

highest practice score was 30

im very pleased,

kinda worried about my P on the essay though?

there's no reason to worry about the writing...and a P really isn't too shabby either the average for accepted applicants is a Q, so you're totally fine, and i don't think it's considered much anyways. congrats on your score!!

Having read Anastasis' posts, truly honored to be designated as such. Perhaps 'Score Triplet' is a better term?

Heh well I'm just worried it won't even get me to the interview.
I'm hoping the essays that go with my application will help show that I'm not a complete basket case for writing...I seriously do NOT know how the hell I got an L...I mean I was thinking my writing was kinda crappy but...an L should mean that I basically ignored any of the instructions, and I sure as hell didn't do that...like wtf?

39S

13 PS, 12 VR, 14 BS

I used Examkrackers, and my practice scores ranged from 31 to 36....

I am totally in shock right now....I'm surprised I did better on the science sections than on the verbal though, since I really felt better about the verbal....oh well, not going to complain, especially since this was my first time taking it! 😀 😀 😀

Hey everyone,

I've avoided SDN like the plague since August - too stressful. But, I'm better now:

PS: 14
VB: 12
W: R
BS: 12
Total: 38R

Congrats to all of you who took the exam, looks like SDN did fairly well overall. 😎

hahaha  i was so worried i wouldn't make the 10 vr and O WS cutoff at queens.....can we get a f*ckin hell ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!

34M - 12VR 13PS 9BS

Not bad considering I haven't been in college for 5 years and I have had no bio courses or organic chemistry yet.

1: BJ I think.

2: No full practice test scores. I just practiced on BS and scored 8-11 range.

3: I studied for one month prior to the August test using ExamKrackers books for Org and Bio while I worked my day job as an engineer (decided in July to go to medschool).

4: Relieved. Now I can focus on getting the bio prereqs done and hopefully my score was good enough to get an interview this year. Kind of bummed about the writing, but I hadn't written an essay in 7 years, so I guess the M is probably about right.

my mom checked my scores I dont want to know, but she said it will get me in, lol🙂

haha well i told her she cannot tell me!! So she swore to it. I was getting decent practices so I think she has an idea of what I wanted.

Form DK.

Did all full length practice tests out on the market (except Kaplan #10/11, did all the rest, all three of EKs and all of AAMCs). Went over all of Kaplan and EK study materials for 10 weeks. I had gotten consistent 33s on few of my Kaplan practice exams.

My score was exactly the same as AAMC #9 I took few days before the test.
Practice scores ranged from 30-35.

I am extremely happy that my verbal hit the two digit mark as that was my biggest struggle (always had 8s and very few 11s). Physical was 1-2 below my avg practice score and biological was on the dot.

I had told my husband that I would bit content but not ecstatic if I get 32 and it'd definitely be enough for me to not retake. And I would retake if 31 and below (only b/c I needed to have my MCAT score make up for my subpar GPA.) But I also told him I would be jumping up and down if I had gotten a 33.So, I feel bittersweet.

I'm just so glad it over. 😳

You guys REALLY make me feel like the 36 from last go'round for me was worthless. Some AWESOME scores out there, and congratulations to everyone. Best for me was that one of my students called and got the cutoff to stay in her 7 year program, Im so happy for her.

shaddup!!!!! j/k. But seriously, this is SDN the home of the high scorers!!!!

The first time I met spoke or heard of people getting 43s or 42s or 41s or 40s or anything higher then 37 was on SDN.

LOL. Seriously, SDN is barely a fraction of test takers or the applicant pool.

BTW GOOD LUCK this coming week!!!!! I know you are going to be accepted!!!! 😀 😀 😀

Hey guys,

Finally checked. I did as expected, a little disappointed but I'm fine with it.

36R (P: 14 V: 9 B: 13)

I don't know how I got a 9 in verbal. I never scored a 9 on verbal even on the practice tests, I was always 10+. If I had my usual 11 on verbal, i'd have a 38 😳 . But oh well, its over.

Practice range:
Last four tests were:
AAMC 3 - 37
AAMC 8 - 38
AAMC 9 - 39
AAMC 7 - 37

So yeah, a 36 was a little disappointing for me compared to my practice tests, but hey, its over, I don't have to take it again, and its good enough for med schools (I think).

Nice job everyone!!

Here are mine:
April 2006: 10, 10, 10, Q
August 2006: 11, 11, 13, P (Form BR)

Practice range: 33-36

Does anyone know how to find out which med schools take your highest/most recent score and which take the average? Is there a thread for this on SDN? I'd really appreciate it if someone could let me know. Thanks!
