Ok I'm kind of worried I cannot seem to change the settings of outlook acct junk mail it's auto deleting the mail- I've had the acct for 3 months and every time I've ever checked the junk mailbox it's empty anyone on here outlook/ hotmail savy ???? Also in general what's the time frame btwn verified and secondary emails? I just got verified today

outlook put my VCOM secondary in the junk box and deleted it! i'm a new outlook user so after that incident, i quitted outlook and switched to apple mail app.
 
So I decided not to apply to schools that want to know why this state.

So funny because a teacher from my uni medical school said you are not suppose to choose schools based on locations but what they have to offer you and yet there are more than 5 schools that want you to focus on location.

I thought only Marian asks you why you want to practice in their state. The other schools have regional bias/preference but they don't ask you in the secondaries.

Marian asks about practicing specifically in Indiana, and Ohio U asks specifically about practicing in Columbus, but only if you're interested in a seat at the Dublin campus. Those are the only ones that I've seen, but I have only received 6 secondaries so far.

Western used to have a question of why practicing in Pomona, but they don't have it this year.
 
for those of you who have received secondaries from western and ccom, would you mind posting the essay prompts? maybe i just missed them but i didn't see this year's prompts in this thread

Holy crap! That's exactly what I'm worried about happening!? In order to change your email associated with your AACOMAS acct can you just login and change it????
 
So for anyone completing Western's secondary, what do you consider a page? Are you using the standard academic page(size 12 double spaced~250 words) or are you cramming as much into a page as possible? I hate the ambiguity of no character limit...😕
 
Anyone get the UNECOM or PCOM applications yet? Yesterday, I filled out the NYCOM application by finding it on their site, but I don't believe that UNECOM and PCOM make their app. available to everyone. Can anyone confirm?

NYCOM has their secondary available, but you need to go their website to fill it out.

Has anyone received a secondary from UNECOM?

I think you meant Touro. Western has a limit of 1650 character per essay.

Wait, so if you don't have a preference for the Dublin campus, you don't have to fill out the "Columbus" question?
 
Seeing you guys turning in secondaries is nerve racking because I'm studying for my mcat in two weeks! Lol

PCOM sends their secondaries to everyone
 
I got a Email from KCUMB‏, the title is "Learn more about KCUMB‏", there is no secondary information in the Email. Do I just wait for secondary invite? did anyone get their invite?

These people are the ones with stats that make them competitive enough for MD schools.
 
It is beyond early guys, lets chill out. Getting an invite in Aug-Sept is still early, Oct-Nov is average, Dec-Jan is later, and Feb+ is a late invite. Unless it is the end of the year and you have zero invites there is no reason to start panicking.

And typically, unless you have above average stats and solid ECs with a good fit an early interview isn't realistic. Fall is when most applicants will start to see invites.
 
I posted this in the Ohio HCOM thread, but haven't gotten an answer. Are the personal essay and personal statement two separate essays? Or are they speaking to the same thing?
 
there is no "problem facing healthcare in america" type essay question this year? 🙂
 
I would do a suit and tie, but at least have on a collared shirt.
 
so far I've received and completed secondaries for MSUCOM, MUCOM, KYCOM, LECOM, and CCOM.

I am wondering if anyone knows when there will be secondaries for the following or if you have already received these secondaries and I just suck (?) 😕
VCOM, KCUMB-COM, PCOM

And I know WVCOM does not have a secondary they first select for interviews. Has anyone been selected yet?

I have received VCOM's secondary and I haven't heard anything from WVSOM at all.

I've read that some people have had vcom's go to their junk mail, so check there just in case!

I just received PCOM's secondary today. Haven't heard from VCOM or KCUMB-COM.

I have had my VCOM one for a while, but only got an e-mail from KCUMB that they received my app. No secondary yet. (I didn't apply to PCOM)
 
PCOM is region biased? I am from CA and got a secondary from PCOM but I was wondering if I should even bother with it.

Yes PCOM has a regional bias for that whole Pennsylvania region. though some would say it's worth a try regardless, and that the bias may be explained by the school receiving a larger pool of applicants from the area.
 
anyone hear anything about OSU? I got a secondary awhile ago and I could not find a specific school thread for them. Was wondering if they're regional bias or not.
 
is this the only 2ndary thread? i ask because it hasn't had a post in weeks. Anyway, when filling out LMU 2ndary app, under "professional experiences" and "job", do you only put career or like undergraduate, part-time jobs? thanks
 
Finally been verified by AACOMAS, how long did it take to start receiving secondaries?

Officially though, AACOMAS says that the application is 'Released' to schools the following Thursday. Just take it as it comes I guess.
