For all of you who took the exam in May:

This is the official score release thread for the May 2007 MCAT dates. Feel free to post serious information and announcements about the impending score release. You can post your scores in here when the time comes as well.

This post also serves as a warning to remind you guys that fake threads stating "SCORES ARE UP" will give you an automatic post hold for one week.

Best of luck to everyone waiting! :luck:

10-13-10 = 33R

I didn't really prep much in May, I got mono and strep, then strep again just before I took the stupid exam -I was just barely able to get through work, let alone study. But I took physics II and chem II spring semester, and used some EK and Kaplan (I'm cheap, bought a couple of books that weren't too much $$) and 4 AAMC exams. My score was basically what I was scoring on practice tests at the end, way better than before spring sem. when I didn't know half the material on the PS. TOTALLY shocked, I was so out of it, I had no idea how I did, and I literally just clicked answers on some of my marked questions in the PS (hi, experimental section or what?) because I was running out of time.

Good luck! To all of you still trapped in MCAT world. USMLE world, here I come 😉

Finally!! They took forever to come out!

12 VR
10 PS
10 BS
=32P

Not too bad. I was hoping for a little better but this will work for me. I have a 4.0 with lots of volunteer experience and some research. I used EK to study. I took 2 aamc practice tests. I got a 32 (BS10, VR11, PS11) and a 36 (PS12, VR11, BS13). I wish my real test would have been more like that.

PS: 10
VR: 10
BS: 12
WS: P

Total: 32P

I'm really happy with this score 🙂 . It's a solid, respectable score and I'm definitely not retaking. Congrats to everyone on their scores!

For those of you guys who asked, I got a 21 on my Kaplan diagnostic and ranged 29-34 on my practice exams.

Since all the folks who made 38+'s are getting all the congrats, I thought I'd give a shout out to all the folks who met their goals.

Good job guys, we're finished!

NO MORE F'ING MCAT!!!

Now for Step 1...

Yes, I was afraid I was going to have to start studying again...more importantly no more Organic forever!

Also, I think we can wait just a bit on Step 1....😀

Sure, my practice scores were as follows:

(VR/BS/PS)

CBT 3: 14/13/14
CBT 7: 13/10/10 (I did this one in a hurry. Fixed the dumb mistakes, such as misbubbling and doing the math wrong, and BS and PS go up by ~2 each)
CBT 8: 11/13/12
CBT 9: -/13/14 (Didn't do VR section)
CBT 10: 11/13/13
TPR free online practice, #4100: 10/9/10

I only did #3, #10, and the TPR freebie under real test conditions. Charmingly enough, #3 matched my actual score in every way despite being marked as one of the easiest practice tests. Physics on #3 was definitly easier than on the actual test, but everything else seemed about the same. That could have been a function of preparation too.

I took the TPR test less than 2 weeks before the real thing and nearly postponed my test. But I calmed down and took parts of #3 that night and my mind cleared. This should serve as a warning about taking a TPR or Kaplan online diagnostic (I think I got a 33 on their free online test) too seriously. The test is helpful, but ultimately it exists to convince you to take their course. So don't panic too much if you get a "bad" score on the free diagnostic.

Not to sound like one of those whiny ppl that ask if a 12, 12, 12, T (36T) will keep them out of med school, but how much will my first verbal score affect my acceptance into medical school because i DID get a 6 in verbal the first time i took it. Overall, i'm EXTREMELY happy with my 2nd score!!! Congrats to everyone else.

ok... for the sake of people studying at the moment for upcoming tests.. i must tell you not to feel any pressure from the scores posted here. these are amazing students, and by looking at their percentiles, it is clear that 90%+ people get lower scores than them. there is MUCH more to an application than mcats and many people get in with a 25+. of course, aim as high as possible, but relax!!!

from my experience, i did not take the kaplan/princeton reviews because of cost, and took classes about 8yrs ago. i bought the kaplan review book (which was great) and a couple of the 1001 questions examcrackers, which helped somewhat. i took 5-6 practice aamc tests and got on average a 29. my actual score from may 25th was a 29R so just about right, but i feel confident given my GPA and ECs. PS was hard but ended up getting an 11. BS was easy, but ended up getting a 10. VR was alright and I sucked with an 8.

anyways, just hope to make you feel better and be confident!
good luck,

I completely agree. MCAT Score Threads are not an accurate and fair representation of real MCAT scores; it's really just a penis waving competition.

If you ever are studying for the MCAT and say you'll be disappointed if you get a 36, then you know you're browsing SDN too much.

Hey guys.

My 6th MCAT scores (yeah, you heard right........6th!) :scared:

28R
PS10, VR8, BS10

the other five were 24-26 btw.................

:luck::luck::luck::luck: to everybody who's studying right now............possibly including myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀

good luck,

very much true! I do martial arts and the best way to get better is to pick the one thing that you could most easily do better... do it better and then move on to the next item of improvement.

Good luck everyone!

BS 13
PS 11
VR 08 (!!)
WS R

Well, I was ranging a steady avg of 35 in all the AAMC tests- with 32 my lowest score and 37 my highest. I kind of expected this outcome; VR was quite straightforward and I missed three qns because of no time. I totally wasn't sure of PS and was guessing the last few qns(without even reading them) because of the time! (again, sigh!). BS was easy, and probably I made some silly mistakes.

So all in all, I told myself I would get a 32+ score. Guess I estimated just right🙁

I took the may 25th mcat and thought the physical was way harder than the practice... i seriously thought i was going to get somewhere in the mid 20s! so im soooo shocked and happy with my score!😀 also on my practice test i never scored 11's on any section... so i did better than my practice tests!!! God was on my side!

if ur taking the mcats and think u did bad... do NOT cancel ur results because u never know!!! and when i first started studying for the mcats i was getting below 20s... so study hard and never give up!!! also it is definitely possible to raise ur scores by a lot within a month, if u try really hard.... im not that smart, so if i can do it nebody can!! 🙂

Yeah I agree with many of the other test takers. I took my test and thought that I aced the verbal section and completely bombed the physical science. I ended up with a 10/14/12 O split.

I also learned that the practice tests are pretty reflective of the actual thing, despite how much easier many of the practice tests feel. I took the 4R to 8R and scored between 33 and 36 on each of them. I thought I did really poorly comparing to my usual performance on test day, and it turned out to be very comparable.

28P (10 VR, 10 BS, 8 PS).

The physical sciences section threw me off. They managed to cover every weak spot of mine (magnetism, optics, electricity). The PS was nearly entirely physics with little general chemistry (my strong suit) in there. I guess it's luck of the draw in that sense. No kinematics either.....ugg!!!!

You said you thought you aced verbal and bombed PS, and you got a 10/14/12. Was the 10 in PS and 14 in VR? Or the other way around? Cause that's pretty much how I feel (score back next month though). But most people on here seem to get the opposite of what they expect.

OMG.. what is the word on taking it that many times? a lot of us know the old guildines on retakes.. you can take it 3 times... less times you take it the better.. the schools look at the average or the most recent.. but with the frequency you can take it now.. whats the word on "how much is too much??" I for one can totally identify with the urge of trying to take it tons of times... because now we can..! 😱

here's my score on the may 25th:

PS - 11 (whaaat???)
VR - 9 (pretty much what i expected... i had to guess on the last passage. ran out of time)
WS - Q
BS - 10 (again - what I expected)

Total - 30Q

I am pretty happy with my score. I was hoping for a 32/33, but a 30Q is definitely good enough to get my foot in the door for some interviews at my state schools!

My practice tests were around 29-32, with a practice test the week before being a 26 (it FREAKED me out!).

I also took the MCAT in Aug. 2004 and got a 24Q w/ the following breakdown - PS: 6, VR: 9, BS:9
I worked like none other to raise my PS score and it looks like I was succesful!

I'm not planning on taking the MCAT again... do you all think I need to with a 30Q? I've got a decent GPA (3.65 from a good school) and good EC with 2 years of work/clinical experience...

Wow, congrats on pulling up your PS score from a 6 to an 11! I don't think you need to retake, especially since you feel you can get an interview at your state schools with your stats. It might help if you said what state you're a resident of, but overall I think you're in a good position, and I definitely wouldn't advise a retake. It's a solid score, and you don't want to deal with the risk of doing worse on a retake. Good luck with your apps!

I did 1 point worse then I did before... I am going to cry. I didn't break a 30.

Awww, don't cry. If you're considering a retake.. Well since I'm still new to the MCAT, i'm not sure if you can review what you got wrong.. But maybe ask yourself what you can do raise your performance and get as much advice from people who have done well. Like how they studied, what tests they took, how much they studied... etc.

Have faith!:luck:

Anyone have any idea what time the scores will be out tomorrow?? so that i don't keep compulsively checking every 5 minutes :scared:

Hahah, what the hell went wrong with my VR. I thought I did well on that thing. Good thing I'm not pre-med 😀

Hmm, I don't know whether I am happy or not with my scores.

VR: 9
PS: 9
BS: 11
WS: Q
Total: 29Q

The highest score I got on an AAMC practice was 33..should I apply with these scores or re-take? I really don't want to take the test again, but I feel like I could have done better. 😕

Did you underperform (-2 or more pts below average) in any sections? If not, you may want to just go with the 29.

I know this isn't anything fabulous when compared to what most SDNers score, but to me this score is incredible and I'm very happy with it. Last year my score was a 28Q (09PS, 09VR, 10BS) so its definitely an improvement but more importantly there was so much I went through and I worked so hard to get here, so I'm just so, so excited.

And more importantly: ITS OVER WITH! WOOT.

What do you guys think, practice scores were between 28-32. 28s on AAMC and ~30 on Kaplan. But I never practiced the writing sample, and I guessed it showed. Do you think it'll be a problem? Should I retake? I don't plan on it, but I would like some input if possible

I wouldn't retake. Don't sweat the WS score, it doesn't matter much. Simply make sure you write a good personal statement and secondary essays.
