Is there anything similar to this for AACOMAS?
I recommend going to the DO forum to ask, and also google AACOMAS traffic rules.

Briefly, DO schools tend to offer admissions through the season and closer to your interview date, asking for a substantial deposit to hold your seat.
You are discouraged from holding multiple seats or paying multiple deposits, rather compare one by one and keep your first one or withdraw & move to the new one.

Does me accepting an offer from an OOS DO school affect my current WL schools and potential future offers from any IS TMDSAS schools?

what is the last day a tmdsas applicant who already matched can hold on to acceptance offers from the waitlist?
Are you still holding 2 offers even after getting your big scholarship?
That’s okay for a few days but you should look on your new offer to see when they need your answer.
And then as I have explained before, no new offers after May 15 at 5 pm to Texans holding another TMDSAS offer.

AAOMCAS does track to ensure you dont have multiple admissions (not certain about May 1st deadline). They dont look into the MD space for admissions, same as AMCAS not keeping up with your DO admissions.

No I withdrew already, but I got a message a few days ago saying that the deadline was 4pm May 2nd? That’s the first I heard of it

Since there’s a lot of offers starting up now, the schools are going to set you a pretty short decision timeline. Read each offer closely

sorry if this had been answered already, but does anyone know if the May 15th deadline for schools to offer waitlist acceptances to applicants with another TMDSAS A also applies to OOS applicants?

It is the rule for Texans. Do you have more than one offer at the moment including OOS schools?
Corrected: It is the rule for both IS and OOS applicants.

Yes, it does. The rules state "After 5:00 pm CT on May 15, 2025, no medical school in Texas may offer a position to an applicant already accepted by another medical school in Texas." This is not limited to Texas residents. So, after 5 pm on the 15th they need to offer spots only to anyone who does not hold a Texas spot. They will also honor CTEs that they are aware of (which should be all of them). They may not know which out of state school you are accepted at, but if there is a CTE and it isn't for their school (Texas schools get CTEs in AMCAS, even though it isn't part of TMDSAS and has no formal meaning), Texas schools will not intentionally offer you a spot. Or at least, they shouldn't. Mistakes can happen. For example, sometimes my master gives me dinner twice and I don't tell him.

You know, @Doodledog, I used to argue with applicants on SDN about this exact point for years.
The OOS applicants used to say it didn’t apply to them and I said it did. Texas applicants thought it should be the same rule for everybody.

Was I wrong then and right now? Probably. I answer questions as accurately as I can and am willing to correct myself when I get it wrong.
As far as I understand, admissions directors are free to make their own WL choices about offers after May 15th. They can certainly give new offers to folks with no prior TMDSAS admissions.

Editing my post because the source I found was a cached page from 2014.

The wording sent to schools is what was quoted in my post verbatim. The website you showed has different wording. I have no idea why. Regardless, I think it is extremely unlikely that such an offer would be made. The school must notify the other Texas school when doing that and that would not be taken kindly in this situation.

Hi! Sorry I could not find the AMCAS thread, but I'm having an issue when I'm entering coursework on AMCAS. The summer before I entered college, I had my AP credits from high school transferred to my local community college thinking I was going to take some classes there in the summer. I ended up not doing so, and ended up transfeerring those community college classes to my main campus. Those classes show up on my main campus transcript as classes from the Summer of 2022 from my local community college. However, on the transcript from my local community college (which I also plan to send), the courses are listed as Fall of 2022 classes. Which one should I follow? I am struggling with a lot of anxiety surrounding the timeline of the cycle, and really don't want to make any mistakes that could put my verification time at risk.

If you never took classes at that CC, you don’t need a transcript from them.
It might look weird if your 4-year college calls those transfer credits from the CC.
You might need to get together with your registrar to straighten it out before submitting your apps, to clarify that they were AP credits.

Is it okay if 2 out of 3 of my most meaningful activities are mentioned in my primary essays also? I would write about different aspects of the experiences and highlight different things.

i think so personally! if it's a meaningful experience, i'm sure you would have multiple perspectives / takeaways from it.

do we have to list siblings? i really dont consider a sibling of mine to be family and i don't really like being connected to them.

(replying here because of no tmdsas 2026 thread)

It’s just for statistics on family size and how many in your family have attended college & their ages.
They don’t ask how close you are or even a name 👽

Hey, I'm a proud mini-golden doodle. We're not competitive in the doodle world like you premed hoomans are. I'll sniff the you-know-what of any doodle type. Oh yeah, remember Texas people, and I can't say this enough, that TMDSAS does not use or mandate the CTE/PTE system. If someone has done a CTE for a TMDSAS school, it's because they also applied to an AMCAS school and are on the CYMS system and CHOSE to do do a CTE. TMDSAS schools DO NOT require a CTE. Having said that, Texas schools will honor them whether done for a TMDSAS school or an out of state school. Finally, we're currently just under 9 hours until the last time a TMDSAS school can offer admission to a WL applicant who currently holds a TMDSAS acceptance. I expect few such offers to be made today as most schools have filled and got folks to give them decisions by yesterday.

In the grand scheme of things, does that mean the majority of offers made after May 15th will be due to OOS applicants CTE at an out of state school?

No, I believe that all the TMDSAS schools will honor CTEs and not offer those individuals a spot. When doing a CTE, students indicate they will withdraw from all waitlists. Although CTE is not a legal process within TMDSAS schools, I would be extremely surprised in the current year to see a TMDSAS school intentionally offer a place to a person with a CTE regardless of what state that school is.

After 5 pm Central today, offers will be made to individuals who do not currently hold an acceptance anywhere, including those in Texas, OR who are out of state and have not done a CTE (i.e. have a PTE or no such designation).

I’m on two Texas WL’s, unmatched. After this point, if my rank #2 school offers me an A, and I accept, will I still be eligible to get off the WL at my rank #1 school or will I be removed from consideration there?

I am not 100% sure of the rules about this, but I recall one guy from 2-3 years ago that got 2 WL offers in the same week the last half of May. The first offer came from his favorite school and when he got offer # 2 after that he was able to turn them down & say he had accepted another offer.
If lightning strikes you twice too, tell us all about it!

Is movement post-May 15 common? Or is it pretty few and far between?

Interesting question and not fully answered by the rules. But, the rules do say "after 5 pm CT on May 15, no medical school in Texas may offer a position to an applicant already accepted by another medical school in Texas", now, I would interpret this as meaning that "already accepted" refers to the applicant formally accepting the offer. From the time they make the offer, they will give you 2-5 days to accept, depending on when it is relative to the school start date. However, the second school might not see the first offer or acceptance on the TMSAS website (remember, no CTE in Texas) for a couple of days after you accept it and could offer you a place without meaning to violate this guidance. So, I think there would be a bit of flexibility for a few days around this. I do think that once you had accepted the first offer and it appeared on the TMDSAS site that the second school would not make an offer, excluding exceptional circumstances. I also think you COULD call school number 2 after you get offer #1 before accepting it and see what they say. Not sure what they'd do but I don't think it would be a terrible thing to do if you really preferred school #2.

Slightly less common than me refusing a treat from my master. Mostly it happens when an out of state school offers someone late in the cycle and then it cascades. This likely is becoming less common with CTE use in AMCAS and may go away entirely if AMCAS ever creates uniform CTE dates (which I think they should). It is possible, but i wouldn't count on it. I do think such spots would mostly go to folks holding no current acceptances anywhere so the offering school is confident of it being taken so late in the game.

That’s a good dog!

I saw the official TMDSAS examples on how to write activity descriptions, and I'm a bit confused.

For example, if you volunteered in a hospital, they seem more interested in just listing what you learned. Here's an example a Long SOM Dean said was a "good" activity.

"Served as a liaison between pharmacists and doctors to ensure medication was delivered in a timely manner to the appropriate rooms. Communicated with doctors, nurses, and pharmacists when medication needed to be modified and resolved issues quickly. Developed the skills to work effectively on a team."

But stuff like "developed the skills to work on a team," or "resolves issue quickly" just seems generic. Plus no mention of the department, scale (how many patients helped, what hospital unit) etc.

Is this generally the style of what to write? Just briefly list things you did and lessons learned, one after another?

You can put more detail and personal value of the experience into it. Value and takeaways are more important than listing every task you did or technical details if it was a research activity.

when do you guys think the super early submission period ends? i wanted to submit as soon as it opened on the 15th but ended up delaying to get some feedback on my writing

I would say turning in your primary within May 15-May 30 assuming it takes a ~month to verify and having your secondaries in by June 30th or right before July begins is "super early", as in the earliest possible submission that will make any difference. For example, the Tech schools love to send II's early, like July 1st and 8th, which means they were already doing secondary and primary review well into early June. Most other schools however will start sending interviews July 20th onwards, which means if you turn in your secondary by the beginning of July there's a good chance you are within the first few pools reviewed and have most if not all interview slots available to you.

Possibly silly question - I am unmatched but have an AACOMAS A. It’s my backup option in case the WLs aren’t successful. Confirming that I am still eligible for TMDSAS and AMCAS WL offers?

Yes you are

For the long essays, is it necessary to get near the character limit? For my personal statement & personal characteristics essay, I wrote 4500/5000 and 4200/5000 respectively. Is this enough?

sounds good to me!

So when entering planned activities on TMDSAS that are actually ongoing activities, what should I enter in the description. The applicant guide makes it very clear that I should not copy and paste previous descriptions, but what if I am going to be 100% doing the same thing?

Enter expected dates and say I plan to continue my weekend volunteering at the hungry hungry hippo food bank every Saturday

If we are continuing an activity up to August of this year, how do we calculate hours? Do we just put the number completed up to now, or do we extrapolate to what we have done by August? I was going to put anything I did after I submit under planned activities but just realized the planned is for things after October 1.

estimate what you will do by August and list your August end date.
