Official Transcript - processing delays

hey everyone,

My school told me they sent out my transcript both electronically and by mail last Monday. It's already been a week and AMCAS hasn't sent me an e-mail yet. Should I be concerned and send another one? How long did it take for you ?

mine was sent on the 1st and they got it on the 7th or 8th.

mine was sent on the 10th and i got an email confirmation today (the 14th). plus there was a weekend.

give AMCAS a bit more time..If nothing happens within another two -three days, contact them.
By the way, did you remember to tell your school's registrar that the AMCAS transcript request form must accompany your transcript when they send it? If not, then AMCAS will have a difficult time verifying your transcript without it (according to the online application)

I had two schools to request transcripts from. I requested both of them on 6/2 and the first one was received by AMCAS on 6/7. The second one has still yet to be received and it's 12 days later (6/14). I just requested another copy be sent to AMCAS. It's cheap and probably the easiest way to deal with lost/delayed transcripts. That's my opinion.

I have the same concern with one of my OTs...the school said that they mailed it on the 3rd, but no email from AMCAS yet. I actually got someone on the phone at AMCAS this morning (after about a 20 minute wait) and she, in a very apathetic and vague way, said to just give it a couple of days. The reply email I got from AMCAS said to re-contact them on the 16th if I haven't seen an email saying that the OT is there.

Clear as mud, right? I guess they plan on two weeks from registrar sending to actually getting entered into their system.

I hope this helps...It's keeping me from constantly logging onto Thx!!

has AMCAS ever lost a transcript *after* they sent the student an email confirming it has arrived?

Okay! I just checked my email and AMCAS has received my transcript!!! YAY!!! So apparently, it takes them a week to process it. This is a bit strange since my school is in Baltimore, about 1.5 hr drive from DC. My guess is it will take longer for applicants who are far from DC.

This is my first teeny victory in the application process. YAY!!! GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!!
