Got called off the waitlist today. Originally was #39 on the OOS alternate list. Already accepted a spot elsewhere but am strongly considering OSU. Have a week to decide.

One of the biggest factors for the decision is the process of becoming IS after year 1, specifically not having outside assistance. My parents plan on helping some financially through my 4 years, so do I just have to make it work 100% on my own year 1 or are there ways to get some help?

You basically have to do it all yourself. At the end of the first year they require you to give them bank statements, proof of maintaining a residence in OH, proof that you paid for insurance/car insurance, etc.
