I am wondering the same thing too Beanjamime....Hopes are falling fast for me. I had called Amber today and she told me about letters and it seemed that there would be no more calls being made (that's how it seemed to me...she was kinda unclear). When she looked up my file (which is what I thought she did since she asked my name followed by a pause), she said there was nothing for my status....so yeah...someone else had emailed her and she told them they were waitlisted. I don't know...
 
I also haven't heard anything by phone or e-mail yet, but the person I talked to indicated that it was nothing to worry about. Hopefully they weren't just being nice. They also indicated that the last committee meeting was held today, so I am conjecturing that it is possible the last round will hear by mail only.

I checked last year's acceptance thread, and it looks like everyone there heard by phone or after the interview...but they did change some things this year, so I'm not sure how reliable last year's data is.
 
Thats not entirely true. My friend was accepted by letter in mid Febuary last year. The letter was the only way she heard.

By the way, the new OSU CVM c/o 2013 facebook page is now up for those accepted to OSU. Join!

I know it's irrelevant at this point who your interviewers were, but this paranoia is killing me. Did anyone else out there have Dr. Sanders and Dr. Yamaguchi as their interview committee? :scared:
 
Has anyone (accepted or waiting) seen any update on their appilcant status page (http://appstatus.osu.edu/)? Mine still says AcadReview (for a few days it gave me the message: This account has been disabled -- YIKES. But the page is back PHEW).

I am desperate 😱 to hear from them, soon I hope!!!
 
telling you the truth, it will probably say that until you get a letter in the mail. But thats just my opinion.
 
I definitely check the applicant status page more than is healthy... haha. I think we all do!

I also interviewed with Dr. Sanders and Dr. Yamaguchi, and was called and offered a seat three days after my interview. As for my status page, it says "Decision" under Status. When I click on "show more information on status," this comes up:

A decision has been made on your application. To ensure privacy, you will receive written notification of that decision by mail.

So I'd assume, if you don't have that yet, they're still considering you 🙂
 
Click the "Show Status of Required Items" button.

It says my Professional Career Accept Fee and Prof VetMed Deposit are due 04/15/2009.

Or maybe I am just reading too much into that.

Thanks for responding. Congratulations too! Mine still says academic review. I'm beginning to lose my mind. :scared::idea: I also just found out that no decision has been made for me yet. How is it possible they know who's on the waitlist already and not have a decision for me. I think that's bad news, maybe they just didn't want to tell me over the phone that I didn't get in. So sad.

I received an acceptance phone call this morning! 🙂 I go to school at Wisconsin but am a buckeye at heart! See you this fall!!!!

Someone on this thread wrote that they emailed Ohio inquiring about their status and was told that they were number 80 something on the waitlist. (Sorry too bummed to look back for the screen name) Therefore my question is if they already have a waitlist going, what does it mean for people like me who have no decision made as of yet concerning their acceptance. It sadly seems like bad news to me.🙁
 
I called OSU last Thursday (I think..the days are a blur now), and the women I talked to said that she did not have a status for me either. It is very much discouraging. I can't even log into my application status. I put in my SSN and Birthdate and nothing happens. I almost want to call again.

That won't get you very far on that page. After you applied they sent you an email with your log in information to check your status. Search back through your inbox for October-ish and you should have better luck logging in.

I don't know if it's much consolation (or any, for that matter), but it took forever for them to update my status page after I was accepted. It said academic review for a while. I can't tell you when it changed, since I stopped checking it until I went back last night and saw the Decision. Try not to be too discouraged, hope is not lost! If they haven't made a decision on you yet, that means you haven't been rejected, so try to think positively! Good luck!
 
I have been accepted since 12/17 and my application status still says AcadReview. I called the office to double check and she says the vet school really doesn't use that website much, it is more the "Professional Admissions" and that your status doesn't necessarily correlate to your actual admissions status at this point. She also said that letters were mailed out this past Friday (1/16/08). Hope this helps, good luck everybody!

OMG!

I n my state of anxious paranoia I just called to get the latest update and started to brace myself for my impending rejection when she began verifying my name, address and VMCAS number........instead I just got offered a seat for the incoming class!! Not a waitlist, not a maybe, but an actual acceptance!! I AM COMPLETELY FREAKING OUT!!! I'm honestly afraid I'm dreaming and I'm going to wake up soon. I even had a dream last night that I had been accepted and was so sad this morning thinking that was the closest I'd get. This is the happiest day of my life. I'm 29, I survived an abysmal GPA, dreams do come true if you just don't give up.

I am such a paranoid freak!! I just called Amber from OSU and asked about my status...still nothing yet..she said I'd found out in a couple of weeks as they are still making decisions...so nerve wracking! Congrats to everyone who already got in and good luck to all others!
 
I second the too big of a wimp thing. My applicant page says decision made.... but I'm too scared to call. AGH!

And my status page still says Academic Review. 🙂

So I take it that acceptance letters went out already? I'm at school and nobody's home at my house, i've been waiting for the letter for a while.

My status page says decision and when I clicked on the status info, it says conditional acceptance. Since I am a junior, I still have two outstanding pre-reqs to finish this semester. I tell you what though, its hard to focus on anything knowing that you are accepted.

I'm in the exact same boat as you Bmichs. So far, Physics II is kicking my as$ and it's only week 3!
 
Ya, physics is a pain. My pre-reqs are Microbiology and Biochemistry II. As for OSU, they say you only need 1 quarter of biochem, but our semester doesn't fulfill everything they want you to have (b/c we skip 2 chapters and come back to them in Biochem 2). So had to petition them to look at my appl, but oh well, I’m still in. I was planning on completing both of these courses anyways this semester because they are both required for my major.

bmichs75DVM: In response to your post on the Acceptances thread, I received a phone call this morning. The call is kind of a blur after the lady said I was accepted, but I think I remember her saying that the vet school is starting to send out official letters this week. I am pretty sure she also said that another envelope will be coming from the professional admissions office. That envelope will contain the forms about officially reserving your seat with a $ deposit. I could be COMPLETELY wrong... but that is what I can remember.
 
Thank you! I'm so freaking excited I could barely string coherent sentences together earlier!

My status still says Academic Review and they said that they mailed some of the letters on Friday and are still in the process of notifying people. Final notifications should occur in the next 2-3 weeks.

So, what I wonder is are they sending out the acceptance letters to those who have not been notified first, then to those whom have known for a while now in the next couple weeks, or visa versa.
 
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!! No call though, so if you still haven't heard, there's hope!

I just received a phone call this morning 1-21-08 that I was accepted. I cannot believe it.

I just got my letter today. I won't be able to read it until I go home on Friday. So all of those who have been waiting, letters are coming soon.
 
Yeah, those who are IS should be getting it (or could already have it) since they were sent out Friday. When I talked to April she sounded surprised that I hadn't received it yet. Since I live just outside of Cincy, hopefully by tomorrow it will be here!!
 
The mail has been pretty slow because of the Holiday

Its sad, I really have started stalking the mail man.

Hopefully tomorrow. I want the letter in hand before I drop out of the college I am at now, and class starts Monday for them. Worse yet they keep sending me letters asking why I haven't paid my tuition bill for the spring yet.

Congrats!! I was so emotional I could barely let the poor woman finish her sentences! She must have thought I was insane, I kept apologizing for babbling and telling her she just made it the best day of my life.

david594, are you done with all your prereqs then? How awesome if you can take next semester off.
