Oklahoma State c/o 2020 applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm on the waitlist. Today I got the "class is full" email. Its not even June 1st! I suppose the IS students accepted right off all decided to go? Ah well, guess I'll start polishing my application for next year!

I'm sorry @apopken! As a waitlister who was on the OOS list I feel for you! Best of luck with your application for the next cycle!

^^This reminds me, I need to purchase plane tickets too!

I think we should be getting more info next week- at least I hope so! All I have heard is orientation is during the week of Aug 8th and I am assuming the white coat ceremony is after orientation but prior to the start of classes on Aug 15th? Not sure if that helps at all.

White coat is generally the Friday of orientation week. In the afternoon I think. It *has* been a while so I can't remember exactly.

Y'all just be glad you don't have to do a ropes course in August in OK. It was in the mid 90s at least...

Is orientation just at the school or do we go somewhere like some of the other schools do?

Does orientation typically start that Monday or later in the week? Our email said exact dates TBD, but I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding in San Diego on August 7 and was planning to return on August 8. Haven't purchased plane tix yet pending this potential conflict and would like to let my friend know ASAP if there will be a problem.

I don't know what is up for this year, but it has been wed-fri in the past I think. Until they post the final schedule, no one will know unfortunately.

Thank you for letting us pester you with questions, Lupin

I am super excited to be moving! (Well, not the actual moving part.) I put in a deposit for a duplex about 3 miles from campus and it will be the first time in 7 yrs I won't be living in an apartment complex. I am SO tired of lugging my groceries (and 40# bags of cat litter) up stairs and noisy neighbors in the corridors. Ugg! Really hoping for a little peace and quite at my new place.

Plus, I only have 19 days left until the last day of work! Then I move a week later! And it's a long weekend to boot. :soexcited:

They took down c/o 2017 boxes today in prep for c/o2020! Feels weird to me I am no where now. haha
What class will you eventually be? Or will you still be 2017 with your PhD? (pretty sure I recall you were doing both?)

Random musing- but the school I just graduated from is playing my future vet school tonight in the college World Series. I don't really care about (or understand....) baseball, but it is kind of a fun rivalry to watch for me.

(Post somehow got edited by accident. So posting again.)

I have never kept up with baseball in my life and I watched all of Mississippi State's games up through the super regionals. I definitely want to check one out, it looks like they have a good time!

I grew up following college basketball with my dad, and through undergrad it was a blast since we were often a top ten basketball team, but I have never followed baseball. I don't know that I've ever watched an entire game in my life. I made it through about twenty minutes last night and then just followed the score on my phone lol.

I've never been a college sports fan but did enjoy watching the World Series and the Kansas City Royals! Hoping for a repeat this year.

On another topic, I have now moved to Stillwater. Unfortunately, my move did not go very smoothly - hope yours is better @alohacat319! And I am now relaxing (and stressing) before school starts. We only have 31 days!

About two weeks for me left before I move. It's gonna be a crazy couple weeks getting set up before school starts. Excited though!

Ugg. Just got the email about tuition increase for this coming semester. 12.5% is hard to swallow. Hope this kind of a raise does not continue each year. Guess I shouldn't have been poking fun at my sister when her tuition went up by 5.8%. Karma....

Made me sad too...

Any suggestions pertaining to Clinical Anatomy?
what ya mean? You pretty much get everything you need to study from lectures. It is now putting normal anatomy with common things that go wrong. You need to start getting better at reading radiographs, but nothing too outrageous if I recall.

Ahaha! I was too fast for you. You don't need any books. 🙂

Everything was taken from lecture if I recall. Holla at me if you need the radiology book, or even any other book you think you might need.
