Hey guys,

Like many of you I am planning to apply this cycle. But I also am planning to continue to take a class or two to add during the academic update period. One of the classes I was looking into was from an online physio course from a university. My first question is:

1) Would online courses count towards my overall gpa as well as my BCP gpa?

2) Even though this is just mainly for a slight gpa boost, would online courses be frowned upon by dental schools? Or should I just be taking lecture courses instead.

I really just want to take some easy science classes this coming fall since I've already completed all of my pre reqs. Please let me know! Thanks guys and good luck with applications!

I don't see why not? I am also going to take 2 science classes online because my undergraduate school did not offer them. I believe that as long as the subject is BCP, it would count as a part of your BCP GPA.

yes they do. I took some and they counted last year in my cycle. I had no issues with online classes last cycle assuming that they are from a reputable university and not a junior college.

So schools don't mind if you take online classes? I'm asking because I was wondering if they would maybe look at my online courses on my transcript and see me as a lazy person since I didn't take the lecture instead 😛. Truth is...I am lazy haha.

Yes, they will be included. So long as this isn't a pre-req, I don't think you will run into any issues. It's not like you haven't taken plenty of "live" classes! 😀
