I am going to be applying to all Texas dental schools this summer, and the only prereq class I have left to take is Organic Chemistry II. I was wondering if it would be alright to take it at my local community college this summer? This would be the only prereq class that I would be taking outside of a 4-year University. I have looked over the admission requirements on each of the schools website, and the only thing I have found is that the prereqs must be from a regionally accredited college or university. However, I don't know if taking Organic Chemistry II at a community college will turn them off.

The only reason that I wish to take it at my local community college is because of work, and because I want to graduate on time given my busy course schedule.

It would be great to hear from someone who was in my situation and has been accepted to a Texas dental school or just any dental schools in general.

Thanks in advance!

It's all school specific. I took my pre-reqs at CC so I only applied to schools that didn't have a policy against that. If you're in doubt you could always contact somebody at the school directly and ask. As to whether or not it will "turn them off" I think that's a question that only a committee member could answer.

Is there a part in there that seems to be confusing?

if the website ofthe school that you want to go to says that that school only accepts credits from a university, then that means that they do not accept cc credits. It's pretty simple.
