Osteopathic friendly residencies

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
UF at Pensacola. Many attendings as well as residents are D.O.'s. My friend who was a resident was a D.O. as well who graduated last year and found a great job in private practice in the area.

Good Luck!

AFAIK, USF doesn't have any DOs in it. I know Bayfront in St. Pete had a few DOs in their program. One of my classmates is at the MCG program which isn't far away from FL.

BTW Global, was your friend's initials at UF-Pensacola JD? I rotated there as a third year for our core rotations, she was great! I think she woudl have graduated last year.

Hey Quinn, could you tell me some of your thoughts about UF-Pensacola? I've been looking at that program some and would like to know what someone who has been there thinks of it.

Thanks,
Jamie

How about DO friendly residencies in the North Carolina/Virginia area?

Does anyone know of any Ob/Gyn residencies in Florida that are DO friendly?

My advice to you is to apply to all programs you are interested in whether they are DO friendly or not. Maybe you will be the first DO in a program and create new opportunities for DO students who follow. I plan to do the same. The way I see it, I've worked too hard for someone to tell me that my DO degree isn't good enough. If that is the case then it's their loss. As you begin appying, try to have this outlook. Don't try to be both an applicant as well as the selection committee. If all else fails, at least you can say you gave 100% effort!

Good luck,
community 🙂
