Osteopathy and genetic engineering

I have heard from a few people that many schools are asking about genetic engineering in their interviews. What do all of you think about the philosophy of osteopathy and genetic engineering? I was thinking that osteopathy believes that healing comes internally so entering a foreign object and changing one's genes are consistent with osteopathy. What do other think?
