Dude! That's an awesome set up. Love the manual. I cant drive anything else. Ive been driving stick since I was 16.

I actually don't use the stick much when I'm road racing, the padles on the wheel are much easier. It's loads of fun to do some heel and toe lap after lap. I'll find a good video here in a sec and show ya

Here ya go, this gives you some what of an idea - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z69OLaKr8A

Been tryin to master the 'Vette C6R the last two weeks or so. Kinda cool because I was in a race with some GP2 drivers the other night. They have oval racing as well, with a lot of big name drivers over there, but I have way more fun on the roadies.

crazyB, will you describe Boston Clam Chowder to me again? Like i said, i know what manhattan and new england style is...but I'm stumped at that one...

It's creamy and tastes really good. This page http://homecooking.about.com/od/soups/r/blss52.htm says it contains
  • 1/2 pound bacon, medium diced
  • 1 cup chopped leeks (about 1 pound)
  • 1 cup chopped yellow onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 carrot, peeled and diced
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 pound white potatoes, peeled and medium-diced 4 cups clam juice
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 pounds little neck clams, shucked, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons finely chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper

That's pretty cool. I really want to get into Auto-x, but its too costly to replace tires/suspension/brakes etc.

Yea no kidding. I plan on getting into some form of racing, whether its dirt late models or some type of road racing, once I'm done with school.

I told the wife that'll be my hobby when I'm done and her first question was how much it'll cost lol

Superfreakonomics?

That developmental bio book you have is the same one I've seen professors use in undergrad. What's with 3 water bottles? Do you dehydrate easily? Man, you have a lot of emails on your gmail

Hahaha nice observations. Yeah I have another pile of books on my dresser! The emails are just an accumulation. Those have all been read lol. As for the water, that and milk is all I drink. haha

Oh yeah, I remember you talking about that when I told you about how many sodas I drink

I kept all of my science textbooks from college. I still look at them for reference from time to time.

Hahaha I wish I did that. I sell all mine when Im done with them. :D

I would have done that for the extra money, but I used to be pre-med, so I thought I would use them in studying for the MCAT.

Why'd you switch?

Staying in school for 7-10 years after college wasn't what I wanted to do. I also like being more involved with my patients and seeing them more often. I also liked organic chem when I took it, and learning about drug reaction mechanisms interest me a lot more than anatomy and physiology.

At first in college, I wasn't really aware of things in health care other than going to medical school. When I shadowed some pharmacists, I really liked it and thought it was what I'd like to do. When I took biochemistry, I also liked it in undergrad.

Nice, someone can use that as a response during their pharmacy school interview. lol

Wow, so what kinda specs did u squeeze in there? lol

It was really a budget PC. 320GB HD, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz processor, Budget ASUS graphics card (ASUS EN8400GS SILENT/HTP/512M GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready Video Card), 4GB DDR2 RAM.

I only use it for downloading, browsing, microsoft office, watching some torrent movies, burning music cd's etc. Im not into gaming anymore, which is why I settled for a cheap gfx card.

:bullcrap:

Lol, Im serious. The only game i play now is doodle jump on my iphone. I used to be obsessed with Counter Strike in high school. Also, WOW consumed a bit of my life at one point. I just dont have time to play anymore. I feel the carpal tunnel effects coming around.

I played that in high school and also couple of years in college. I have never ever played WoW. I had to have my ex-girlfriend explain to me what it was

Lol, its an addicting game. I have lost many friends to it. Worse than crack I tell ya.

The best games are so addicting, and of those, MMORPGs are the worst, and WoW is the worst of the worst, because it's done so well with so many facets. And the ability to earn USD playing it is so awesome... Made $1,500 last summer playing in a PvP tournament, in WoW it's called "Arena".

It's definitely easy to get sucked into it... the key is to take it in moderation, like anything.

Most things have the ability to be addicting if they supply dopamine fixes for the dopaminergic reinforcement pathway (Mostly the VTA and nucleus accumbens) and it's even worse in people, like me, who have a deficiency in the DRD-2A1 allele that causes dopamine deficiency. Nasty stuff, really have to stay vigilant on anything that "normal" people would find even moderately habit forming, including adrenaline fixes. This was particularly bad in my line of work before pharmacy.

Is that legal? How does that work?

Not selling characters.

Check out MLG - Major League Gaming. The #1 prize in one tourney I placed 4th in was $100,000 (split 3 ways, it's a "3v3" tournament). They do other games but WoW is their biggest by far. Counter-Strike is pretty high up there. More common prizes are $30,000 split 3 ways and $15,000 split 3 ways.

Completely legal and sponsored by all kinds of big names. Intel, Gillette, Chipotle and UFC are 4 of my team's sponsors. We played at Blizzcon (a big convention in Anaheim every year, total nerdfest) and it was broadcast on e-TV.. pretty cool stuff. :)

How exactly does that work for something like WoW? I mean I understand how Madden tourney's work because there is a clear winner, but I've never understood how they decide who wins

It's easy.

Not in a traditional raiding PvE format for WoW. We play in a PvP setting called "arena", where it's a team of 3 versus a team of 3. You can choose any class/race and form a team, get sponsored, and get pretty big money playing video games. One of my teammates, plays a Rogue, is 17 years old and already has $120,000 in the bank from Arena tournies. Our sponsor flies the best teams (Each sponsor has a few teams under their auspice) to tournies all over. I've played in St. Louis, Anaheim, New York, and Atlanta. The best teams go to Germany, Amsterdam and Dubai to play in tournaments.

The teams queue against each other in any number of formats, best of 3, best of 5, grudge match, etc. And the team that kills the other team wins. Think "Gladiator".

Google ESLTV, they often stream Arena competition. It's great money on the side for doing something fun, plus we get swag like HP Blackbirds and such from sponsors.

Edit: I did not mean to say competing is easy, LOL. The tournaments are often very high stress and people get just as into the games as football, soccer, and hockey (you name it). And it draws massive crowds. At Blizzcon we had over 10,000 people there at the convention center and over 175,000 watching from home on Blizzstream.

 Dang.

That sounds so cool to be able to fly to Europe to play video games

Yep... I've never been able to indulge because

1) I don't play on the best team (booo - but one of the best sponsors)
and
2) my schedule won't allow for the long trip (Usually Thurs-Mon) and we have to play at weird hours to account for prime time in America.

But it is pretty cool. And something I never really advertise, since WoW is such a taboo.

Only for Americans, though. Koreans and Europeans LOVE video games, especially e-sports... it's strange.

Gosh whatever happened to good old Mario Kart and Wave-racer? Sega Genesis? Duck Hunt!!!!! Call me old fashioned.

I've played Mario Kart. Never heard of Wave-racer. Never played on a Sega Genesis. Never played Duck Hunt except on my TI-83 Plus

What about Doom? That used to be on the computer...

Wave-racer was on the same N64 console as Mario Kart. It was also a racing game except with jetskiis and you can change the player's names.

haha, it was Wave Race 64. That was an awesome game back in the day.

Here's my current set up:

And I have both the grey and orange Zappers (the orange ones are put up).

WoW is the crack. Doesn't stop me from spending too much time on it though...

<aside>
The new instances are fun, but I kinda worry about them handing out purples like candy these days... my priest has gone from scrubby quest greens and blues like 3 weeks ago to 2k spell power and the ability to heal pretty much anything outside of a 25-man. Seems kinda borked.
And I suck at the peeveepees. Horribly.
Out of curiosity P4S, what class do you play?

Here's my current set up:

:love::love::love: I am ENVY.

I bought one of those NES/SNES combo systems about a year ago. It gets as much play as the PS3 and computer in the apartment.

I'd get a genesis, but they have pretty much all the genesis games I want in the Wii store. At least I get to play me some Vectorman
