Yeah, I guess you're right. He's pretty hot. 😍😍

The girl in that video is pretty.

The debate on PC vs. MAC can go on forever, but it really depends on personal preferences. Some people prefer MACs, some people prefer PCs.

Serious dramatization o.o! So low-tech too! They should have pulled out more dramatization to make both resemble their category more (apple pulls out their signature products and PC pulls out their signature products).

She was okay but the way she talked sounded like she was a future miserable wife with a miserable couch potato husband. At least her character is. I'm sure that's not how she REALLY talks. >.>

You'd be surprised.

In Killeen where Fort Hood is (where I was stationed), you can buy even new RFI (Rapid Fielding Initiative) gear at the off-post "surplus" shops.
Why would they let a civilian get that kind of gear? =\ I thought it was RESERVED for the US Military. You know, how it's supposed to be specially only for US soldiers. 😱

Mmm, well lots of Soldiers sell it, especially Soldiers clearing post for any number of reasons (Discharge, PCS, TDY).

Nothing is "reserved." Now, that said, a civilian picking up an issue M4A2 is extremely unlikely. We're talking mostly about ACH (ballistic helmet), flak jackets, etc.

Lots of companies make reproduction gear also for Soldiers to buy extras of (For FTXs and such). In short, it's a complicated subject but suffice it to say, especially around bases, if you have cash you can get just about anything you want of military issue gear.

Maybe. The first guy is hot but the second is "okay". Can't really see his physique underneath that large loose shirt. =P

If you want to talk sportsmen, well... that's a whole different league. Military men have their own manliness that sportsmen can't compete with. It's like apples and oranges!

But that doesn't mean athletes can't join the fun >:]!

Oh right.

Lol, I'm just saying that she SOUNDED like an upset stereotypical wife who works at the diner. Just an association with how she talked and the tone of her voice. I never said "oh she's totally a miserable wife" =P.

Like how if I had an ex- named BOB I might associate your name and maybe even you with how I felt about my ex-. 😛

None of those guys really appeal to me, I like the intellectual nerd type - give me an astrophysicist or a chemical engineer to drool over. This is what I want my bf to look like with the shirt on:

Well damn, I step away for a few hours and you guys pile up 5 pages for me... great... :\

Carrol Shelby = complete sellout. Seen the new GT350? Yeah... sure... I'm going to give you $33,000 OVER THE COST OF A NEW GT for a level of power/handling/stopping that a dozen other reputable Mustang tuners can provide for about a third of the cost?

Oh, but I forget... I'd be driving a 'real, honest to goodness Shelby!"

Don't make me laugh.

American cars are P.O.S...no offense.

You may go to the hell. 😛

May I add that there seems to be more than the usual amount of half-nekkid men on this page than we normally see?

Lol, I love my Asian cars. AWD ftw.

There seems? Hrmm, it seems normal to me. It's to balance out the half-nekkid girls everywhere else! :meanie:

Regarding the POS comment, my Mustang has the exact same reliability ratings and crash safety ratings as the precious Accord and Camry, so yeah.

@NaOH - You know, people will pay for anything. Take the Cadillac XLR as a great example. Wanna pay for a Corvette, but pay 40 grand over MSRP? Without the extra performance of a Z06? XLR is for you!

Wouldn't that just show that you weren't over your ex?
In that example it would depend on the circumstances. The point was trying to convey that people associate the tone of your voice and your word choice and sentence structure with what they have encountered. But I'm just saying the widely known. =P It's sort of like word association.

Lol, you don't need to defend your car brand and makers. Every car has it's own ups and downs here and there. I'm sure we can all acknowledge that. I just like Asian cars just that much more because I am Asian. 😳 Subaru's reliable AWD, woot! 😛
But damn... I feel inadequate... :lame:

emergency pushups, brb
Lol =P

And I only like American cars because I'm a red-blooded, patriotic American! Rawr!

Actually, we have 3 Priuses in my family. I've got no problem w/ imports. I just hate not having a big V8 growl when I press the gas pedal, and FWD cars just don't have the same neck-snapping, seat of the pants ass-whoopery that RWD big displacement V8s do.

There are plenty of Americans who like Japanese cars. I'm sure there are plenty of Asians who might like American cars.

I don't think there's a need to stereotype or categorize people based on what they like. If you like one type of car, then it doesn't necessarily mean you like all of the same type. You could be someone who likes Ford cars, but dislike all other American cars. (Is that even possible?)

I still have a serious case of blower envy, though.... always regretted that I never had a chance to own a supercharged Grand Prix, those were my dream cars for a long long time.

I think the small displacement + turbo thing is the way of the future though, so I'm sure I'll be able to scratch that itch eventually.

Indeed, the new 2011 Mustang has a V6 TT option I believe. Pretty cool... and I love my blower whine 🙂 It's subtle, though, not like the Paxton on the 2003 Cobra. Dear god.

I'd heard and approved. I guess it would slot inbetween the NA V6 at 305 and the V8 at ~400? Considering we've got a TTV6 at 350 in the SHOW, I mean SHO...

I'm actually kind of partial to the Mustang these days, despite being from a 'GM family'. The Camaro is beautiful but a fat pig, and the Challenger... :meanie:

The first Hybrid that comes out that can hit 60 mph in under 4 seconds, I will buy 2 of them.
Psh, hybrid? Might as well stick a 120v battery into your Mustangs and call it a hybrid!

Two words: Tesla Roadster

0-60: 3.9 seconds. It's not a hybrid though, at least from what I've glanced.

I don't REQUIRE that much speed. Maybe your mid-life crisis will though. 😛

Honestly, I have this romantic fantasy of a world that has run out of oil. We'd have sailing ships, and wagons, and solar-powered gliders. Humanity managed without the ICE for tens of thousands of years, after all. I'm just trying to help make that dream a reality, you know?

Yes, yes. I know. What we'd actually get is The Road Warrior. Just indulge my dreams, okay?

🙂

I require that much speed. I've got my Mustang down to 4.2 seconds on a good launch on drag radials at a track and it's still not enough.

I always wanted to fly an F-16... this is the closest I can get. =]

The Tesla looks like a Lotus. Very visually pleasing... but I doubt it'd sound as good as, or anything like, a V8 wide-open flying down the track. Nothing beats that sound.

I would be happy that I was a sharpshooter.

Oh jeez. Now it's the speed AND the sound. =P If they made it sound like a Mustang, it wouldn't be a Tesla.

Whenever I think of sport cars I think of 6 inches of snow and RWD and FWD sport cars in snow banks. :meanie: I also think of waving at the drivers as I pass by. But I suppose that's not the image you get in Sacramento. 😛

What we would actually get is Umbrella Corp. and genetically modified soldiers fighting for countries, and then later, space colonies (with Earth countries or those "other" beings). :meanie:

No... we get rain and that's just about it. Occasionally snow fall, but it never, ever sticks.

If I end up in Cambridge I will get a snow-appropriate car/SUV.

Been watching some YouTube videos about the Tesla, and so far, there haven't been any truly testing the performance. Just some dudes driving around, tapping the throttle every once in a while.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8hJw6sihXg&feature=related

Has a little speedo viewing in it.

It seems peppy, but the sound would drive me batty.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kq9izwf4glw

Sounds very similar to these:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaIkRUVOuk8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uyPkavo66Y

🙂 They almost sound the same except it sounds like the Mustang puts more effort into the sound while the Subarus have less effort and more smoother tones. Sounds like the Mustang has more "rugged" tones to it. 😛 Lol

Edit: The Tesla sounds like a typical electric car, at least in my opinion. Sounds a LOT like the Honda FCX Clarity when you floor it. Never heard the Prius accelerate though. I have heard a 1st generation Prius start though. It didn't make any sound. =P

It has everything to do with crankshaft rotation actually... the less crankshaft rotation, the lower, deeper, and more "robust" the exhaust note... Which is why you hear a Ferrari and think, holy crap and why the V8 has such a pleasing warble. Granted, not everyone enjoys the sound, but I have no doubt I get more praising looks at my exhaust note than a Civic does, or a WRX.

The high-pitched vacuum cleaner sound is just so... wimpy.

Pleasing, right.

Like how Harley's have a pleasing sound to some people too. 😛

Three different cars, at least two, for completely different purposes, as I'm sure you're aware. The WRX's home turf isn't the pavement.

Lol, AS expected, not enough "ruggedness" for some people. Ahahaha, the robust wheezing and coughing sound from a Mustang sounds a bit too old for me.

Ugh, really doing that whole "Post Breakdown into Quotes" thing? That's so unfriendly, professional and painstaking. It's so much work... ok...

And how some people love Death Metal, I guess?

Sound has nothing to do with off-roading or prowess in that turf. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner on steroids.

Wheezing, huh? A V8 with that exhaust system breathes better than any Inline 4 with a couple of fart pipes out the back, you know. The "couching" you're referring to, of course, would be the back pressure from revving the Mustang at idle (Which is a stupid thing to do, anyway, it makes the sound not so amazing, assuming you're talking about the clip you referenced).

Bottom line is, different strokes for different folks. The argument of import vs. domestic will wage on for years to come, even after we're all out of dino oil and we're racing hover cars or whatever.

All that matters is, when we line up at the track, I put you in my rear view mirror. =-]

Don't look at me; I never liked rock, even from the 80's, 90's, nor today. And I certainly shut metal and heavy metal out before it was even born.

My point was that a Mustang was originally built to drive on the pavement and the WRX was (or later was) built to drive on unpaved roads. I'm not car expect but I would think someone would have to keep in mind that with different engines of course there are going to be differences. But when I hear the Subaru WRX, it sounds like they didn't want to bother that much to make a signature sound like the Mustang does. I'm just saying the Mustang was meant for the pavement and the WRX was meant to go off-road so that at least is worth noting.

Ahahaha <3 no need to get defensive :meanie:. I guess Asian car enthusiasts and American car enthusiasts can keep going at it like they always do with everything else. Lol, "fart pipes". This is exactly how I imagined you would retort though. :meanie:

Edit: LOL, the rear mirror retort huh? Careful, you of all people certainly DO NOT have enough time to look back at your rear view mirror as long as we do with your FWD and RWD sports cars. 🙂 After all, you just might lose control of your car. Hubris softens the Earth beneath the feet of victory. Mustangs are no exception >:]!

You're a masochist.

Don't look at me; I never liked rock, even from the 80's, 90's, nor today. And I certainly shut metal and heavy metal out before it was even born.

Well, that's good. I'm a Steve Winwood kinda guy.

The signature sound you hear most of the time is actually made by a company called Flowmaster. They provide exhaust applications for a wide variety of vehicles, including god awful sounding I-4 ones. 😛

I'm just saying the Mustang was meant for the pavement and the WRX was meant to go off-road so that at least is worth noting.

Be that as it may, there is absolutely no doubt that the current iteration of WRXs, being those massive-winged things which rev at me at every stop light have absolutely nothing to do in the mud.

Ahahaha <3 no need to get defensive :meanie:. I guess Asian car enthusiasts and American car enthusiasts can keep going at it like they always do with everything else. Lol, "fart pipes". This is exactly how I imagined you would retort though. :meanie:

Glad to be predictable! Hey, what can I say, I'm a patriotic, Iraq-killing, Asian-car-hating, red blooded American. We're all simpletons, and highly predictable. Like a bear, you know? Poke it with a stick and see what happens. Very predictable.

But eh, not really, since I can appreciate any fast car, as long as it's fast and quiet (Unless it's got a V8, in which case, it can be really loud). For example, the Supra TT of the mid-90s. Now that is one import which I am afraid of when it lines up next to me on Saturday morning.

I guess Asian car enthusiasts and American car enthusiasts can keep going at it like they always do with everything else

you know what it reminds me of? PC vs. Mac.

But again, when an import smokes me on the track, I've got respect. Doesn't mean I enjoy the way their exhaust note shatters my windows.

Edit: LOL, the rear mirror retort huh? Careful, you of all people certainly DO NOT have enough time to look back at your rear view mirror as long as we do with your FWD and RWD sports cars

It was anecdote. Clearly I was just using that for illustrative purposes. What I really mean is that I'll see Lane 2 clock the 1/4 5 seconds behind me on the timeslip.
:meanie:

You're a masochist.
Actually I would be considered a sadist and not a masochist from my true intentions of posting like this. =P At least when it comes to choosing it's sadist, not masochist.

Well, that's good. I'm a Steve Winwood kinda guy.
Ah, I have no idea who that is and I'm too tired to bother googling him.

The signature sound you hear most of the time is actually made by a company called Flowmaster. They provide exhaust applications for a wide variety of vehicles, including god awful sounding I-4 ones. 😛
I really wouldn't be able to tell around here. So many people have exhaust modifications over here that you can hear them from half a mile away. But that's something I get used to in the spring, summer, and fall. In the winter? Well, let's just say you don't hear any of that unless it's on something like a Subaru Forester STI (Or XTI). >:]

Be that as it may, there is absolutely no doubt that the current iteration of WRXs, being those massive-winged things which rev at me at every stop light have absolutely nothing to do in the mud.
Oh those riced out Subarus? Yeah, most baby boomers make fun of them and make threads called "riced out cars" or something like that. What's funny is that the majority of people who make threads like that are Subaru owners who have the mod bug; the people who have the same brand of car mock the flamboyantly modified sport cars. They post pictures of them whenever they spot one at a stop light.

It's obvious those speed bump fearing lowriders don't ever plan to set foot in mud or on the rally track. That doesn't mean the rest of them, the originals, are in the same position though. I've only been to Sacramento twice and that was in the past 7 years 🙂scared🙂 but from what I've seen, the people driving those "riced out" Subarus follow the stereotype; Fast and Furious fanatics. I could bust out the stereotypes that I'm sure they are if you want.

I absolutely dislike riding and driving lowriders. My relatives on my dad's side have the typical Asian Honda Civics and Toyota Supras here and there. I disliked them as a kid and I still dislike them today. Any lowrider, that is.

Glad to be predictable! Hey, what can I say, I'm a patriotic, Iraq-killing, Asian-car-hating, red blooded American. We're all simpletons, and highly predictable. Like a bear, you know? Poke it with a stick and see what happens. Very predictable.
Lol, that is what I assumed contributed to your previous retorts. I take a guilty pleasure in soiling any kind of pride regardless of size. :meanie:

And I don't poke awake bears, just the ones deep in hibernation inside a dark and cold cave all by myself. I always have "natural honey" to lure them away when they "wake up" from all my poking. :roflcopter: And then for the less animal friendly, a "tranquilizer gun" when things get serious business. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. This applies even for "bears", you know? :meanie: Very "predictable".

But eh, not really, since I can appreciate any fast car, as long as it's fast and quiet (Unless it's got a V8, in which case, it can be really loud). For example, the Supra TT of the mid-90s. Now that is one import which I am afraid of when it lines up next to me on Saturday morning.
I might be worried if they were in my rear view mirror all the time but most people who drive those cars don't mind their lead foot. I'd be worried because they're asking to take me down with them if they think it's safe to go the posted speed limit in 6 inches of snow with FWD or RWD.

you know what it reminds me of? PC vs. Mac.
You know what this reminds me of? Beer vs. Wine. I don't drink ever and I don't think I will ever understand why people still drink. 😡 It's not because I'm young 😡! It's because when you weigh the benefits to the consequences, it's obvious to some of us (lol, I'm HOPING!) the consequences outweigh the benefits.

But again, when an import smokes me on the track, I've got respect. Doesn't mean I enjoy the way their exhaust note shatters my windows.
Psh, shatter windows with their exhaust? You're one to talk. 😛

It was anecdote. Clearly I was just using that for illustrative purposes. What I really mean is that I'll see Lane 2 clock the 1/4 5 seconds behind me on the timeslip.
Right... I'll just act like I understand a thing you just said and respond with "Sorry, I don't have time to pull you out of that snow bank. I will call the local Ford/GM repair shop for you though! 😛"

So, here is a picture for you all.

Someone's trying to fly away. At least this time they're taking Ford and Mustang down with them instead of Honda or Toyota. :meanie:
