honestly, it would probably be easier to list which schools favor applicants for their state. as most DO schools are private, and therefore do not have a preference.
OSUCOM
TCOM
definitly have a preference and I believe are only allowed to take 10% of each class from OOS as they are state funded. Schools that are public have other measures of weeding out of state applicants.
For instance.
WVSOM
MSUCOM
these schools will take some OOS applicants but deter them by having high OOS tuition.
OUCOM does it differently by forcing OOS applicants to sign a contract stating that 5 years after residency you will be forced to practice in the state of ohio.
Other schools such as:
PCOM Pa
PCOM georgia
UNECOM
NYCOM
WCUCOM
VCOM Va and SC
will take out of state applicants but have a regional bias
for PCOM PA you should be from the tristate area
PCOM georgia, it would help if you were from the south
UNECOM takes most of its students from maine, and i think 20% from tristate areas and 10% from anywhere. something like that
NYCOM you should be from tristate
William carey you should be from the south and it preferably in their state
VCOM prefers applicants from the appalachian region
schools that do not favor applicants from their home state or have a regional prference
LECOM all three campuses
touros all three campuses
LMU DCOM
Western
Nova
KCOM both campuses
midwestern both campuses
UMDNJ SOM will take oos applicants but with higher than average stats and they do favor NJ residents
KCUMB
DMU COM
thats all I can think of for right now. your best bet is to look at each individual schools websites. again this is all anecdotal but this is just what I have found.
