I'm seriously considering attending a P/F program, but I'm worried about being able to set myself apart in the future if I decide to apply for a specialty. From what I've heard and read, at this point, graduates of schools like UCSF and UCLA don't have any problem getting in to specialty programs even though they don't have a GPA, because at least right now they have board scores to fall back on. Under the assumption that boards are going to P/F, do you think it will be more difficult to get into a specialty program if I have no real grades or scores for programs to look at? I'm not sure about specializing at this point but I would certainly like to keep the option open, and I don't want to have anything working against me.
