So here's my problem. Apparantly in Jan of 2010 the NBDE's will be graded as pass/fail versus the traditional scored examination. Because of this change, I am a D1 and don't know what to do. Do I (1) Take the NBDE I late next summer so that I can receive a score rather then just passing (assuming I pass) or do I (2) wait until Jan of 2010 and take the boards then to just receive the "pass" status?
Also, do any of you know if specialty schools in 2011 would even consider the actual scores on my first boards if the criteria then is no longer a score system but rather pass/fail? In other words, say I do really well on the boards, will they not even care that I did well, just that I passed? How will they compare my scores to someone who just passed the boards?
I could use your thoughts because I'm a tad confused on how I should be budgeting my time. Thanks!
