Doesn't Prof. Fetus find the bump on your back strange? Or do you just blame it on aliens? :laugh:

The problem is the tinfoil hat broadcasts my thoughts better and oh boy if people found out what was going thru my mind it would be bad.. very bad.. yeah...

I believe mine is embedded under muscle.. or perhaps under the scapula or something. She hasnt found it yet.. and she has looked.. weird.. They must have had one of their anatomy profs research an ideal place to put this chip...

That must have been where my tuition money went!

The irony of this conversation is that if any of our patients were talking like this they'd immediately require a psych consult. 😛
 
I really hate the city of Chicago right now. It's been in negative digits for the better part of a few days. Who are the idiots that discovered this land and said "Hey! This would be a great place to live!"? They obviously discoevered this place during the months of may-september! 😡

These are also probably the same people who thought dumping their sewage into their main source of drinking water was a good idea, leading to the need to reverse the direction the Chicago River flows in years later. :laugh:

I can't believe none of you had anything to say about Texas requiring the HPV vaccine.
 
I know, it's amazing. The most conservative state requiring something progressive.

I think the requirement rules, and will vote accordingly.

As a Texan (one of MANY) who can't stand pretty boy Rick Perry, I'm still having trouble picking my jaw up off the ground at this news.

Not only did he piss off the thumpers who are very heavily represented in state government by enacting this, he bypassed said government to do it. He did it by executive order instead of the typical approach of going through t†he legislative process.

While I'm very pleased with the result, I'm very skeptical about his reasons. In any case, I agree that the end result is a very good thing. It's hard to watch a pelvic exenteration on an 18 year old with cervical cancer and not support this vaccination. My wife and I had just been discussing this and agreed our daughter would be vaccinated at the appropriate age before Perry made it mandatory.

It really pains me to say it but Perry did something useful.

I'm also for it, but I was SHOCKED that it came from Perry 1st.
 
HPV vaccine for all. I'm sure that other states will follow. It is kind of strange that Texas would do it first, but maybe they're onto something.

Fetus, you're right, we are fighting a battle of wits with an unarmed man over there. I'm guessing that his/her parents, neighbors, or nanny are illegal.

Doncha just wanna pinch yourself? Every time I come across the HPV vaccine/mandatory/Texas article I start feeling a bit detached from reality. So yeah, my jaw is still hanging.

And I agree, I totally don't trust his reasons. What kinda weird **** is he gonna try to slip past the liberal minority and somewhat influential moderate group now? Or is his kid full of HPV? And why did he chose to impliment the HPV vaccine when Texas has one of the lowest childhood vaccination rates in the country? Wouldn't it be better to make, say, Prevnar mandatory? Yeah, I know it is *technically* mandatory already, but couldn 't we make noncompliance a little harder to bare? Like the mother is fined or something? Or if there is a pediatrician on record, s/he is fined?

Argh. You can tell I have no opinions on vaccines. Really. I don't, at all, want to avoid taps on 6+ weekers with sufficient vaccination. No. I love admitting those infants, really.

As a son who almost lost his mom to cervical cancer, anything that reduces the risk of that happening to someone else, I'm all for it.

Really, I just hope Sexy Rexy can keep it close. It would be sad for him to break the record for the lowest QB rating in Super Bowl history, which he is certainly capable of.
