As for the second look, for those that have done them, how much of a shift do you stay for. I was thinking 4-6 hours of shadowing would be enough for me + morning report. Any thoughts?

I'd like to know this as well, as I'm in Toledo now, and at York in 2 days. I don't want to overstay my welcome.

I tried to pay for the hotel room, but they said it was taken care of, but the RC said that I would get the 'corporate rate' when I checked in. Should I take the free room and ask about it tomorrow when I see the RC or insist on paying when I check out?

Burning the day. i studied some but chilled a lot.

4-6 is more than enough. the 2nd looks we saw/i did have been in the 2-6 hour thing. Dont waste too much time with this. This is truly just for you. Once you see what you need to see, then head out.

For a second look, I don't think that staying more than 4 hours is necessary especially since you'll probably be shadowing a resident.

For Cinci, try to shadow the A pod resident since they see all the good cases.

That's what I thought. Just a shame the PD isn't around for some face time. I may stop by the office anyways to at least thank the coordinator in person.

Yeah, I got set up with the 4 year in Apod who is actually staying on faculty next year. Looking forward to the shift, although I hope NOTHING is asked of me b/c I'm as dumb as a rock right now. 😀

I doubt they'll ask anything of you since you'll be there for a second look and they know that.

BTW...I may post my ROL at some point this week. I'm thinking of a few last second changes in the middle and will re-certify this week. I will then post it and become a man of the bottle for the next month. It will soon be left up to the match gods.

I think my ROL is pretty much set, but I'll probably wait a few more days before I certify it. I probably won't post it here until the deadline though.

Alcohol, working out, Jack Bauer, Lost, Heroes, Howard Stern, and most importantly, my GF (although she will be just as stressed) will be nice distractions for the next 32 days. 👍

Jeebus...I'm really sore from my workout. Me likes the pain. 👍

as i finished my CS in atlanta this week, and walked out to it being in the 60s, the southern places keep moving up on the list...

i've become soft since leaving the north.

Having lived in FL for most of my life, I'm hesitant to want to go north of the 2 places in NC that I interviewed at.

It's in the 20's here in Cinci right now. That's the warmest weather I've seen in 3 weeks. Damn you lake effect anything.

That makes me glad I didn't interview in Chicago!

65 here in Tampa right now.

50 in Atlanta, 41 in Charlotte, 33 in Chapel Hill, 30 in Philadelphia, 29 in Cincinnati.....

 I'm assuming those are the temps of the respective locations of your favorite programs.

FWIW 63 right now at night in Tucson. Rocks here.

While I will refrain from doing so at the moment (although anyone who read my reviews could probably figure out my top 3), I think this is the way we should unvail our ROL this year...city and temp.

I have a terrible confession to make...I never finished getting out half of my thank you cards. 😳

So the next 4 weeks ill be prepping for the inservice (Feb 28th) and some strong workout time. I needs to continue getting fit for this summer and drop some LBs

If I didn't visit so many great programs, I'd stay in Tampa in a heart beat.

NorthFace Denali Jacket = $165
Knit cap = $10
Snow shovel = $15
Warm weather + access snowy mountains = Priceless

as I have yet to leave the house today!!!:laugh::laugh:

and by the way, the van halen tribute rocked!

I finde the Grammy's boring. Is it just me?

I just did my draft of my ROL. #1-3 are solid, but the others can flip-flop. I'm going to certify it and be done with it by the end of the week. *puts on determined face*

It's only good if everyone is totally drunk and they're slurring all their thank you speeches.

I dont watch any of those shows. They just dont do it for me. Frankly I dont care who wins and I dont understand why others do.. But maybe thats just me.. and im just not as bright as the people who watch those shows..

I'm tellin' ya, it's that middle that is tough. The beginning and end was pretty easy.

I prefer reality tv myself.

Or if I myself am drunk and hearing all the wrong words from their speeches. (Hearing things wrong tends to be a bad habit of mine. When told to never repeat what I hear and just ask what from now on, I know it's not a good sign.)

Oh yes! Justin Timberlake will be on soon. Now my night is complete! He's so dreamy.

I can't believe he is a credible artist.

Sweet. Thats where i went to med school too..

Party on.. this thread will be closed soon. 1K isnt enough for us!

So you didn't have any other distractions than SDN either eh?

I was thinking this exam tomorrow would be easy til I went through a review they gave us. If it were the test, I'd be flunking...maybe I should go through those lectures as well. Good thing I got 12 hours of sleep last night!

 Man I love the Howard Stern Show. Now that it's on Sirius, it's better than ever.

I mean really, why do I need to know the histology of the GI tract and their differences?
