too complex and confusing.. Latin America is gonna be too $$$.. Sux.. Oh well I guess we can go to chilly Europe.. BURRRR..

Latin america is actually muuuuch cheaper than Europe (unless you go to Chile). Plus you can use your travel miles since they usually require less miles to go to S.Am than to europe 😉. Just my 2 cents from someone stretching own travel budgets full time.

Check out hotwire.com, they often have real real cheap prices for nice hotels. Keep in mind March might be $$ because of the NCAA BBALL Tourney..

Well the price for airfare in March to Latin America is almost 1K per tix and we can fly to London for under $400 per person... As far as miles.. Per United

http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,1142,00.html?navSource=RelatedLinks

While it is 35K miles to the Carribean or Central America it is 50K for South America and Europe..

Thanks though..

sorry. I've Continental and i flew down to Lima for $60 (taxes) on 35K miles.
Where are you flying from? Check out Travelzoo, that's my favorite place for fares.

Plus Central Am is supposed to be pretty sweet. I'm going to Belize in April, I'll tell you how it goes. Costa Rica is supposed to be very pretty and touristy, and i've heard very good things about Panama.

but then UK is one of THE most expensive places to go with everything twice as expensive as in the states. at least 😉

and no, of course i couldnt put all of this into one email instead of three.

Yeah.. Coming from Chicago.. lots of options.. I do like travelzoo as well so we will check that out.. Hmm perhaps I will check out Costa Rica and Belize... Thats a great idea! 🙂

you really shouldnt scare people like that

BUt we can get hotels for a touch over $100 (US) per night. See I could sleep on the street and be cool with it but my wife has standards...(well i thought she did but she still married me) 🙂

What are the airports for Costa Rica and Belize?

Belize is BZE
Costa Rica has SJO and Liberia whose code i dont remember.

$100/night is w-h-aaaaay more than i could afford; but then i dont have a spouse... or standards

I'm looking forward to going to Latin America (Nicaragua specifically) this Spring Break. The major cost of the trip will be the plane ticket. The rest---hotels, food, teenage runaways---will run about $100 for the entire week.

*waves back* playing online scrabble with my wife.. AND winning!!

Hey now, this is getting out of hand. If you are so bitter, next time just ask for a dance and if you're lucky you will get one. :meanie:

ouch! sensitive arent we
why would i be bitter, i was just poking fun
plus i thought sexy dances came from giving a dollar not from asking

We should be able to overtake them in another month.

A month? That's about 150 posts a day over whatever they have. I can help, but only so much 🙂.

If we overtake them by June I will be very impressed..

Yeah serious work.. Just finished my taxes.. I just need the final approval from the misses.. 👍

Still waiting on ONE STUPID FORM 🙁.

Gonna use the $$ for our vacation...and I just saw my #1 increased pay for next yr by 1500 or so.. Always a fan of that!

I'm gonna use the money to support my investing habit 😛. Not a bad deal - throw some money in now on top of the money already in there and maybe I'll be able to retire at 65. (Yes, my investments are currently earning MORE than my student loans are accruing (sp???), otherwise I'd use the money to pay off my loans).

Irrka, you should pay attention to your own advice. I was only teasing. 😛
Don't ya hate that total lack of vocal inflection that sometimes causes your sarcasm/humor to completely dissapear into the internet void.

SocuteMD you amaze me 🙂

I'm ridiculously fiscally responsible. Which is a good thing considering that my med school tuition is costing me an arm, a leg, and a firstborn!!!

That is not to say that I don't make room for the occasional luxurious splurge - cashmere and designer jeans come to mind. However, my mom was going through my closet when she last visited and she was like, "Wow, you have some really nice stuff in here, but you've had a lot of it since you were a freshman in college." So if you calculate price per wearing, it's a pretty good number 🙂. Yes, I consider a nice cashmere sweater an "investment" albeit one with a slightly less-than-desirable ROI 🙂.

Ahh agreed.. When I buy clothes I buy good quality stuff that I can wear for a while. Of course this doesnt hold true for my workout clothes. Most of them I have gotten for free about 10-15 years ago.. Holes etc.. no prob.. I got some free t shirts and then I "convert" them to workout clothes.

It is key to enjoy life a little though.. thats the key.. moderation about stuff. Thankfully the wife works.. gives us a little more freedom.

Most of my workout clothes advertise my undergrad institution 🙂. I somehow managed to pick up a bunch of shorts over the years!
