My peds sub I is going well. I'm a-floatin along.

You guys'll know where you're going before too long. 🙂

I swear I get the EM bashing on every single rotation. It really gets old, but I know it is a constant part of the profession. *sigh*

The bashings stop now! haha, yeah, I get it on most rotations, but also some folks think its pretty cool. I think EM will always get bashing because its easy to criticize things as a "monday morning qb".

Either way, most people admit, EM is the coolest, no matter what field they are in.

I certainly don't mind reminding other docs of:
1) what the role of the ED is
2) that they're the specialists & rely on us for referrals

Also, *sometimes* (every once in a while) they have some legit gripes.

Or about the fact that without us they would LIVE in the hospital..

Was all excited about having a glass of wine while I read my last class transcript of the night. No corkscrew 🙁. Sad socute.

Push the corkscrew in... I have done this a number of times.. when desperate!

Better idea: gas station to fill up and grocery store is just a mile past that 🙂.

WAAAAAY too much effort for a GLASS of wine.. now a bottle.. thats a different story!

I dont know why people have that reaction, but get used to it.. Heck at least Ill be happy while many of the people I have met in other fields are miserable... 😛

We had a few rounds of Hold'em last night chez-moi. At the start of the second game, my very first hadn was a pair of aces and I went all in right aways against my roommate who gets a straight on the river. 🙁

No worries though, we weren't playing for money.

Crap...that thing is longer than Big Robbins (I looked it up!). Thank goodness I read fast.

You know whats weird.. Rosen spends some time at the U of Arizona (#1 on my list) and they still use Tintinalli's there..I thought about asking him about it when I interviewed there but I didnt know how to ask the question without being rude.

He has no illusions about his book (s) being too darn long I am sure.

Out of curiosity.
Anybody else let resident poker habits affect their ROL?

Seems like I missed a bunch since I have had my head in the books these past 2 weeks due to tests...congrats Dr. Mom!!!

My eyes now hurt after reading so much.... :scared:

Hearing how things are going for you and Dr. Mom in the 4th year give me hope that there is a life after the first year.....now if I can remember when setting up the rotations to do all the hard stuff first in my 4th year and the easy at the end......ummm not staying overloaded with neuro right now 🙂

ps this was supppose to be a post pad, but taking to long for the box to click on to long to open .....

Once you hit 4th yr you will know to do the hard stuff up front so you can enjoy life later on!

Curious.. on your opinions.. once I move I will need a new car (my lease will be up) thoughts on 4 dr Sedans all under 22K (with options)

bought the wife the prius. Lot's of room for the size and it sure is cheap to run. Good acceleration and stops on a dime with change.

Now, I wouldn't drive it, but you know what I want.

I always make a point to buy slightly used and let someone else eat the initial depreciation. At the end of '04 I got a 2003 Cadillac CTS with every option available AND made them throw in a 10 year, or 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. It retailed at 43,000 in '03, I paid 24,500 total. May I say- I LOVE it!
Looks great, rides like a dream and Cadillac has the best customer service I've ever dealt with. I just wished I had waited and ended up with a CTS-V. Those babies sound like an old fashioned muscle car and go 0-60 in under 5. Maybe next. My advice- go used and drive an attending car as an intern. You deserveit. Or, you could go new and get a Kia. Your call. Steve

Ectopic....this is coming from a guy who would love to buy a new car...please please get the Mustang. Of course a 2 dr is not practical but they are so great and you are only young ONCE. Live it up. I will be there when I make attending. Prius is nice but you should buy one when you turn 40. The original American Muscle is back.

And then hope you match somewhere warm where you don't need to worry about rear wheel drive.

And while I'm still drunk and on a forum ( do I hava life? debatable) I should say: there will be a time when you look back on your life and say: "I had the option of a Mazda, Civic, Kia, Subaru, Toyota whatever, and I chose a Mustang" and you will sleep better at night! Yes! You will and then your children will be proud of you. Also: My grandparents drive Cadillacs. I don't care if its a CTS you are young drive a Mustang. Please. For me.
