Actually, it's the former (worker support) (I think you got your latter and former mixed up). Communism is an f'n dud (and the Communists in 50 years have ruined 6000 years of Chinese culture), and the broken hearts and broken lives left by the Polit Buros are tragedies.

I've always been a big union backer, and have always been irked by anti-union people that have no idea or experience in what they are talking about.
Tough to argue this but lets be honest not all unions are good for the workers or the businesses they work for.

off to the sub i another day of banging my head vs the wall for hours on end...

To be clear I did an intramural EM sub-i it just doesnt count toward my requirement of a sub-i which can only be done in Peds and IM..

Socute are you sure that the Peds EM sub-i counts as a required 4th yr sub-i?

ok now the whole medicine AI makes a whole lot more sense. my school just didnt have any solid ai requirements (up until i think next year is it? they're changing the curriculum for the 3rd time since i started here. ok so i started here ages ago and am old as methusela, sue me)

Waiting for that... My option is basically med wards or ped wards but you cant do peds unless you are applying for peds.. yucky..

i think peds might have actually been even worse what with seniors having to call attendings for every tylenol they wanna give...

Lost is great, but don't miss an episode or you'll be scratching your head the following week.

no that's when you just download the missed episodes off the net.
i just missed over a months of 24 AAAND lost and recovered.
by the way, with LOST... did that actually just happen???

Last fall I downloaded the entire first season of Lost from Bittorrent. I then spent all of Thanksgiving break watching episodes. The good news is that ABC now posts its programs on its websites for fans to watch in full.

wait, they do? why did i just dowload all those episodes of lost that i missed? crap. i actually can beat that: i didnt watch 24 until this spring. and of course i had to download from the first season through 5th. let's just say there was a lot of monitor staring involved (thankfully this was not on rotations)

When I did peds 3rd yr it was sweet. a lot of autonomy for me and the residents. I would give 1/3 of a testicle to be there than here... such is life...

My wife loves lost but for whatever reason i never got into it.. maybe ill download it and start from the beginning... where have i gone wrong?

Yeah my peds was different. I'm with irrka on this one, was not as fun, but emergency peds for 2 weeks was GREAT!! Oh, and it was 10 times better than OB/GYN, which really sucked.

Ob/gyn is def the bottom of the barrel. I think it was the only rotation 3rd yr I didnt like. What made it even worse was the fact I was surrounded by the crazy female Ob/gyn gunner 3rd yrs..

Ok, do any of you ever get the feeling that a prof is sitting and watching your class study for an exam, smiling to himself, and saying, "Yes, that's right, dance little monkeys, dance."

Yeah...

EF--you're officially in the opposite school. my ob/gyne was actually pretty decent (i even thought about doing it for about a week or two!)

post padding. thought I had something important to say, but then just typed out something bad about ob/gyn again.

Life is funny that way.. thank god for 3rd yr...

still nothing important to say...

Me too... Im not even sure of the point of the thread anymore since path is so far behind they arent even in our rear view mirror anymore and while I am the eternal optimist I dont see us catching Gen res..

But I guess ill +pad+ with my own attempt to fill this thread to its max... 5000 posts I believe..

Well, dang! I gotta post a few too then (maybe I'll even break the 500 barrier...Ooooh, now I've got a new goal in life).

+pad+

Wook
After match you need something to motivate your self..

287 posts. dammit. i'm never breaking the 500 line am i.... +pad+ anyway

I dunno... next year is kind of scaring me (padding-wise). and i still havent heard about my schedule.

irrka what are you saying, there is always time for padding. the other day i told the attending I was taking a break to go postpad. He didnt' seem to mind at all.

attendings scare me much less than seniors. and seniors scare me less than juniors. does that make any sense?

On those off service months when things are slow you can pad away..

😕

I imagine that whatever the future may bring, I can always find a way to pad this board.
Its not as easy as one would think..

Too true, but now I'm thinking about when to take Step 3 (and another happy +pad+ )

I think I will take mine during a PGY-2 vacation. I wonder just how tough it really is? Arghhh another exam...
