Path's lead is shrinking..

Major conference over and accomplished without a hitch. These things always stress me out more than I realize!

Yay, congrats, don't stress.

Yargh. I'm waiting for my TX license to come through. Meanwhile I'm unemployed.

Great time to study for the pedi boards... ('cause I made a pit-stop between med school and ER. Obviously, I had no clue what I was doing. Pedi ER fellowship in the works, peeps!) or just generally fart around, have the random daytime beer and then post on SDN! Go me!

Er, yeah. I'd really rather be working.

And no, I'm not trying to suck up.

I'm freaking BORED!

I generally don't post much, just read.

Today I'm trying to not be boring, so I'm posting.

Hope you're making a lot of money, cause that's just not healthy.

Seriously dude, you're an attending. Isn't life supposed to be easier then?

As an attending at an academic place isnt it better cause you have residents to do the soft admits and call around looking for a specialist to take your patient?

No, because you (as the attending) have to force the admission down the receiving resident's throat sometimes, when the EM resident (or resident in the ED) can't sell it.

interesting.. But in my (much more limited than your) experience I have never seen an ED attending have to force an admission. Not to say it wont happen but it isnt a daily thing for the ED attendings I work with.

Where are you at again, and where were you? I'm sure I've seen it a few times, but I didn't feel like reading through everything to find it 🙄 .
