Zadkiel is the archangel of mercy and freedom who stayed Abraham's hand from sacrificing his son.

This, of course, adds some interesting levels and motivations to the Fall, in which the Fallen rebelled, not out of hate ("why should a child of fire bow before a child of clay?"), but out of love for their charges--leading to the creation of the nearly world-ending nephilim.

Sounds like a certain movie got it's concept from that. "City of Angels"

I don't normally like Cage as an actor, but he did a really good job in that movie appearing otherworldly or just...off. If I remember correctly, he almost never blinked in the movie (which is very inhuman/alien, if you think about it). Damn, I remember the weirdest things.

That's true, but one could argue that it is our faults that make us perfect. Because we are able to learn from the mistakes we make, that makes us the perfect beings.
