Though, Michael's name has dual, disputed meanings, as both a descriptor (one who is as God), and as a challenge (who claims to be as God!?). Since you added the question mark, I take it you find the challenge to be the more appealing version?

I've always liked Michael's standard-bearers, Zophiel (My Rock is God) and Zadkiel (Righteousness of God). Zophiel being the angel that drove Adam and Eve from Eden, and is Milton's "cherub of the swiftest wing," guarding the Tree of Life with his flaming sword. Zadkiel is the archangel of mercy and freedom who stayed Abraham's hand from sacrificing his son.

To go back to "TPS" Apollyon, it is from the movie "Office Space". What most people don't know is that there really are TPS reports required by the IEEE (an engineering oversight group). The military uses it too.

Oh, I forgot all about that! Too much "flair", I guess.

"Oooh, I really HATE that guy!"

It is an interesting theme. I tend to prefer the take of the Watchers. Always observing, but forbidden to intefere with human development. This, of course, adds some interesting levels and motivations to the Fall, in which the Fallen rebelled, not out of hate ("why should a child of fire bow before a child of clay?"), but out of love for their charges--leading to the creation of the nearly world-ending nephilim.

Sounds like a certain movie got it's concept from that. "City of Angels"

I don't normally like Cage as an actor, but he did a really good job in that movie appearing otherworldly or just...off. If I remember correctly, he almost never blinked in the movie (which is very inhuman/alien, if you think about it). Damn, I remember the weirdest things.

Since being cast from Eden, Man has sin, thus making him imperfect. Additionally, the angels (bene elohim--sons of God) are generally considered closer to God, thus more perfect.

That's true, but one could argue that it is our faults that make us perfect. Because we are able to learn from the mistakes we make, that makes us the perfect beings.

I like Calvin and Hobbes. Thomas Hobbes wrote "The Leviathan". That's about as deep as my name gets. I can't even touch Apollyon's nifty name with a 10 foot pole. (What's with me and competing with everyone tonight?)
