Does anybody remember what the numbers or percentages were for PCOM in terms of those who were accepted out of those who were interviewed? I'm real excited for my interview as PCOM has always been my first choice.

I don't know about the Philly campus, but the GA campus has gotten 1,000 applications, is offering 200 interviews, and accepting 85 students. Naturally, schools accept more than their class size. Since both schools are related, I'm assuming there's a similar policy for the % interviewed and accepted, etc.

PCOM probably interviews a similar % of applicants to fill the 200 or whatever seats it has.

But who knows, I could be wrong.

are you in-state? there seems to still be a drought in the out-of-state invites from pcom...

I just got an acceptance from PCOM today and I am a New Jersey Resident, good luck at your interview!(I only interviewed on 12/1 and got my acceptance inthe mail on 12/4).

According to the US News med school guide, in Fall 2003, PCOM interviewed 684 out of 3396 applicants. 409 out of 684 interviewed were accepted. So if you get an interview, you have a chances for an acceptance are very good.

About what I figured. 20% chance of being interviewed, 60% chance of being accepted. Unfortunately, I'm a little too lucky, as I don't seem to have a problem being part of the 20%. It's just that 60% I can't seem to get into.

I'm not sure if their interview invite made it to the west coast. It seems like people in PA and the surrounding states are majority of the ones that have been interviewed.

PCOM does not hide the fact that most of the school is PA(over 65%) and a good portion come from surrounding states. They are doing something similiar with the Georgia campus. They had published a requirement that you be from Georgia or a surrounding state (don't know if it was followed).

This is true for the GA campus as well, as you said. The mission of the school is to educate physicians who will practice in GA and the surrounding states, which certainly includes South Carolina, Alabama, and I believe Florida and Tennesee. However, at my interview there was a woman from North Carolina and a guy from Texas.

NC is a surrounding state of Georgia.

I'm interviewing PCOM-A next Saturday and live in Texas. Good to know about the 200 interviews and 85 seats. They will probablly accept 150 to fill the 85 seats (I'm guessing). That means ~75% chances if the 200 number is right.

I really like PCOM, but turned down the interview since I love the South.

Good luck to all potential PCOM'ers 🙂

The 200 number came straight from the mouth of Dr. Evans.

Don't sweat the interview. The people there are really, really cool. I enjoyed it more than the VCOM interview.

FYI, their temp office is in Suite 350, not 305. There was a typo in the first few emailsl. :-D

They weren't allowed to start mailing acceptance letters until after yesterday, and Dr. Evans said they were going to try to get a decision to everyone before Dec 15. Hopefully I will hear something this week. I'm too afraid to call and ask!

I think some people on here are talking about PCOM-GA and not PCOM-PA. However, you might call if you interviewed in October and still haven't heard anything.

I mean PCOM-Philly. I would suggest calling them and asking the status of your application. She told us that the admissions committee usually meets once a month, and it just so happened the day they were meeting was the same day I interviewed which is the reason I heard back in 3 days. Anyhow, yea I would call them and ask, its not improper to do if you have been waiting that long, just keep hounding them about it, in a nice way.
