People have given up on the quarantine.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
He has been calling pretty much everyone who disagrees with him *****s and idiots. I dont think calling him a Karen isnt all that bad.
Nah, we have a number of doctors I work with who are going a bit nuts with this. They're all older.

Fear makes people a bit weird sometimes.

Yeah... i dont know man... you sure that number?

Cool video. I appreciate that it is short.

I am sure that 95k is not exactly correct. Just as there are factors driving it to overreport there are factors driving it to underreport. I doubt any population level statistic is ever exactly correct. It's probably close enough though.

I think everyone will agree the death rate is high here because Americans are way overweight compared to other countries and don't take care of themselves properly.

Love seeing these random videos of Americans having a freakout that some random person is not wearing a mask inside a grocery store. Geez freakin louise calm down. Very brave for a bunch of fat POS to gang up on someone. The bravest

This is exactly what concerns me. We don't know. If this is a serious enough problem to shut down the economy and ruin lives of millions of people, should we not have done it knowing the exact data and numbers? Looking at that video alone, knowing who she is and what shes does and understanding what she is saying in the video, any person with critical thinking skills should be questioning the official covid19 data and the reason for this nationwide chaos.

Wasn't the whole point of quarantine not to overwhelm medical facilities? Not to shut down the economy creating this massive layoffs and crashes.

I feel that people like Karen is what's driving the demise of our economy and policy making. I'm sure it was a Karen that thought of closing the entire country because Karen thought we are all going to die if we didn't.

The point that I keep trying to make is that Karens of our society has made this much worse that it should've been.

Just found out that my parents lost almost $150k over past 2 months. Had to let go 3 employees all whom has children. Was it all worth it, Karen?

I suppose they thought that they could shoot their way out of a viral infection? #Merica

Your parents own a restaurant?

More fear mongering:

Haha - I read this article this morning. I went to Great Clips myself 2 days ago.

I see how the “news” which we have access to is used to shape opinion, and foment fear, to advance an agenda.

After long enough observation, we will be able to present stories like this about any facet of the economy. It’s an invisible connect-the-dots game which presents a “totally logical” arguement that is very hard to debate with. Although our gut tells us that this position is entirely impossible - they present this topic the way they do in order to cause friction and sow discontent.

There is a reason why you get a dirty look if you wear a mask in public.. On the other hand, there is a reason why you get a dirty look if you don’t wear a mask.

It’s because of stories like this. It has made our population frustrated and angry at people that are simply trying to survive in the best way possible.

This hair dresser is trying to survive, no different than the rest of us. Shame on the s***heads in our “trusted news sources” who foment this discontent and call it “news”.

This is not news at all. It’s a pile of dog**** that has been published for the masses to read.

how long until we start seeing this as a direct and obvious attack on small business?

Big business gets bigger while small business gets smaller.

Could a part of this be about the wealthy and powerful wanting more wealth and power?

I’m starting to wonder....

Cognitive dissonance is a powerful tool to control the mass.

No need to wonder. This global economic collapse was conjured by a cabal of powerful oligarchs. That is why virtually all the nations of the world agreed to take the same action and lock down. If we had this much cooperation among countries, why do we not have world peace? Even the Taliban and mafia groups around the world enforced stay at home orders. This pandemic is being used as pretext for uprooting the current system and replacing it with a new one.

Once the devastating effects of this shut down seeps into the very fabric of the economy, it will leave many people hopeless and destitute. At this point, most small business will cease to exist and people will seek further reliance on the government. More stimulus checks will be handed out and universal basic income will become a reality. This is the final epoch of capitalism.

Yeah, its unfortunate that they're all getting crushed. Hopefully it doesn't get so bad that our food options are Mcdonalds, Taco Bell and for special occasions...Chili's.

I can understand the argument that the quarantine does more harms than goods but to down play the severity of this virus is just dumb.

The true nature of this whole situation will be revealed in due time and it will be done through the very same mouths that spoke deceit.

The Ancient of Days has spoken, "For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open."

Wake up! Do your research! Don’t be a sheepel!
Shhh. I'm being entertained by their conspiratorial rambling. Let them continue.
Refusing to accept this truth goes beyond a mere scientific perspective. It is harboring animosity for what is right and proclaiming falsehood.

Don't be like those that mocked Noah as he built the Ark. When the flood gates of heaven rushed down upon them it was too late to enter.

Haha I just remembered a scene from the Movie, “Demolition Man”

Haha anyone else love this movie?

Isn't the obvious parallel to people who doubted the flood was coming be the people who doubt that COVID is real?
No because the majority believe in the lie which is Covid as those in Noah's time denied the impending flood because it had never rained.

So true Owle - I have been very cautious in my evaluation of this whole thing. Many of my posts back in March were far more reserved.

I just think, if we want to minimize the overall damage that this flood will cause (if it truly is a flood) - we are going to need to be a whole lot smarter about it rather than having the following two options:

1. Shut down 30-40% of our economy and stay inside indefinatley

2. Give the whole thing the middle finger and laugh at the situation. (Like the folks during the flood)

This is such a big and complex problem. I worry a lot that we, as a population, do not have the interpersonal skills necessary to problem solve/brainstorm, settle on a decision, and move forward with a common goal.

This whole thing has shown us how petty and silly we are collectively.

To put it simply, truth is accepted by few. Many will choose to ignore or flat out reject it.

To be fair, Noah was given a direct divine revelation from the creator of the universe. Seems a little unfair.

Also, believing that the flood was coming required faith. Believing that COVID exists and is bad news does not. The more I think about it the less I like your comparison.

Really the idea of a conspiracy theorist going on about people rejecting the truth is enough to make my head explode. The total lack of any sense of irony is too much for me. 😉

Yes you are right, Noah was divinely chosen to carry out his task. But the people at that time chose to be deceived by the rulers of that age who were openly masquerading as divine beings who fell to Earth to teach mankind. They told them what to believe much like what media and the rulers of our present time. They did not listen to Noah and scoffed him.

What is behind this pandemic is plain as daylight. The average Joe can see the factual inconsistencies and those with dissenting voices are labeled as conspirators and fools.

I’m not talking about you when I say this. However your comment provoked a thought.

There is a very dangerous attitude - that is the attitude that someone thinks that they know better than everyone else and/or that they have it all figured out. We should all be careful not to think that we actually know what we are talking about in any way, shape, or form in the context of this conversation. If, in this world, you think you are privy to “the truth of the matter” you are confused on a comical level.

Sounds like you're talking about conspiracy theorists.

It's very convenient that these people just happen to have "questions" about vaccines. Coincidentally, they just also happen to have "questions" about the flatness of the earth. By happenstance, many of these same people have "questions" about the Gates foundation as well as "questions" about COVID.

But no. We shouldn't call them conspiracy theorists, flat-earthers, or antivaxxers because all they have is "questions".

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Noah than got off the ark, planted a vineyard and got drunk.

Perhaps after COVID is over God will announce that he will never again flood the earth with virus and we will get a new kind of rainbow to seal the pact?

Who said this scourge is from God lol. If it really was from God people would have actually been dying lol. That's how I knew it wasn't Him.

Gotcha - your better than these people right? You come from a level above that...

People needed to stay home aggressively in the very beginning (heck they should have isolated NYC like they did Wuhan). Now it’s too little too late. However, even if you “open” everything up, the economy is still on its depression course as people will be reducing their spending given great uncertainty we face. The fact that people and companies should have saved when the economy was better is another issue altogether.

First off, it's "you're". Sorry, couldn't help myself.

You can take anything you want from my post. I don't feel the need for everybody to agree with me or the desire to convince other people to come around to my way of thinking.

As for how I see "these people", I look at these people and I feel the same way I would for a schizophrenic or an obese person. As a group, each of them have their obvious deficits and their individual strengths; they are what they are and I don't feel compelled to tiptoe around it if they're in denial.

For a more specific example, a bipolar patient at the psychiatric hospital asked me take off my shoes. Sure, he could have altruistic intentions and I could acquiesce to his request. He could also stomp on my feet with his boots like he did the elderly woman whose toes he broke which led him to be committed in the first place.

Yea - your definitely better than these people...

Should have increased taxes and managed the national debt better during the boom cycle, too. That's not just on Trump, that's on the Congress, too.

I do wonder what it would take to put the military on the chopping block. China and Russia spend a fraction of what the US spends and they both seem to accomplish their goals better than we do.

When it comes time for me to get on disability, I'll keep that tactic in mind. Probably a lot less embarrassing than masturbating on a train.

What I find fascinating is people don't see this as an indictment on our wage slavery based economic system in any way. We are seeing the systematic failure of American style capitalism laid bare before our eyes.
Or we could see it as an indictment of a govt powerful enough to just tell everyone they aren’t allowed to work
