I am curious what rate of per diem you receive while at OBC?

Does it differ if you are housed at BOQ vs off post hotel?

Is there a different rate for weekdays vs. weekends?

This makes quite a bit of difference when budgeting for my family while I am at OBC.

Pay seems to be:
Base
BAH
BAS?? (not so sure about this one)
Fam Sep pay
VSP

obviously housing reimbursement will offset cost, but Per diem rate can add up quick depending on amount

thanks

Your pay breakdown will depend on your situation. You receive BAH from your previous assignment (as long as you had one, if you commission just prior to OBC you don't get BAH til your report to your duty station). No difference between staying on or off post, if you're off post your hotel bill is settled for you. You receive free meals at the dfac so per diem is negligible. I think it was like 10 bucks a day when i was there plus in and around miles. When i got to my duty station and settled total payment was around 500 or so. I went through in 2004 so maybe someone whos been a little more recently can give better info.

My question is about net take home pay after OBLC/BOLC/Reading Rainbow/What ever we are calling it this week. I'll be a second louie with no previous time, commisioning right before, earning separation pay, going straight to med school.

I have found many calculators, but I'm unsure what I am qualified to recieve (BSA, BHA, etc) and was hoping someone could gleam some wisdom my way.

It is Called BOLC (Basic Officer Leaders Course). OBC and anything else people call it are all former names. BOLC is the current name/acronym. All the Cadre (instructors) wear hats that say "BOLC" in big block letters. Many of them actually call it "Bow-Lick" as a means of speaking an acronym. A little off subject I realize, but one of the previous posts cued for a little clarification.
