PGY2 in Internal Medicine...worth it?

I don't really have an interest in specializing, so I was looking into IM programs for PGY2, but wasn't sure if it was worth it compared to finding a clinical staff position with just a PGY1. I'm interested in gathering some opinions, especially those who did a IM PGY2 or got a position with just a PGY1. Thank you!

Most of the IM PGY2s I know ended up with jobs in academia.

I am a medicine CPS and don't have a PGY2. If you want to teach, get a PGY2. If not, not worth it.
