Hello Folks,

The University of Utah Residency Program was just approved for the addition of a seventh resident to their program to start as a PGY2 July 2009. Please respond to the contact information below.
Thanks.
--------------------------------------------------------
The Radiation Oncology Residency Program at the University of Utah has an unexpected position for PGY-2, starting on July 1st, 2009.

Located in beautiful Salt Lake City, and set against the backdrop of the snow covered Wasatch mountains within minutes of 7 world class ski resorts, the department has a tradition of academic and clinical excellence. The Department of Radiation Oncology occupies a spacious 30,000 square feet on the ground floor of the beautiful new Huntsman Cancer Hospital. Four Varian linear accelerators, including a Novalis stereotactic unit with robotic capability are in operation. Additionally, the department houses a new 16 slice, large-bore GE Lightspeed CT with 4D capability and an additional 4 slice, standard-bore Lightspeed scanner, HDR brachytherapy suite (Nucletron), Eclipse, BrainLab-iPlan and Corvus treatment planning systems, Variseed for prostate seed implants, IMPAC record & verify and Varis Vision. Active IMRT, IMRS/stereotactic, SBRT and 4D programs are in operation. A new, IGRT-capable linear accelerator suite will be installed within the next few months.

The Residency Program fully supports residents in clinical training and academic success. Rotations are generally 3 months in length and residents attend on average 3-4 department conferences or lectures per week. In addition, residents also attend a physics lecture once a week, monthly Journal Club, monthly radiobiology lecture, and quarterly M & M conference.

Candidates should send current curriculum vitae and two references to the Academic Coordinator:
