I was wondering would it be a rough semester if I took Organic Chemistry I and Physics 2 during the same semester? Please give some feed back.
I am worried about spending time with my family. I will not forget my wife, while I am going to school. I will limit myself to only two science classes a semester. Anyways, thanks for the encouragement.
Orgo 1 is a walk in the breeze compared to orgo 2. I also found physics 2 to be easier than physics 1. Go figure.
I agree about the physics II being easier. It was a breeze for me. And I am one of the strange kids that enjoyed Organic, and I thought that Orgo II was easier than the first. Probably because it was all about memorizing reactions. Piece of cake. As for taking a hard load.... Try thermo, machine design, dynamics of machinery, fluid dynamics and two other classes in a semester. In engineering, unlike in science classes, you actually had to do more than just memorize, you had to learn processes. Physics and Orgo are totally doable in a semester. You will just have to work at it. Maybe a lot. But you can do it 😉It really depends on what kind of student you are. I would say do it only if you're comfortable with the idea of taking the two courses together; they are not difficult courses, however, you are going to need to put work into both classes. From what I remember, physics II was relatively easy because it was more based on the applications of physics, such as electromagnitism. I don't really remember much about Orgo I; it wasn't difficult, but I didn't really put effort into the class, and as a result, didn't get a high grade. I think it's definately a doable thing and might make life a little easier when you have to take other upper division classes and not have to worry about taking those lower division pre-reqs (I took Biochemistry and Physics together for two semesters, and I am still alive and kicking. So if I can do it, you can definately do it).
Physics II was harder for me as Physics I just seemed like a review of high school physics. I personally don't see the difference between taking 4-6 liberal arts classes or 4-6 science classes at a time with the exception that you won't be having to write a bunch of liberal arts papers typically in science classes. My personal limitation was always the labs of which I had a rule to take no more than 2 every semester. It's different for every person but you'll be taking a pretty full load of science type courses in medical school so it might be good to get used to it now.
