Hi!

Can anyone recommend a hotel/motel near MCW? I am not using the host prgram, and I didn't get any info in the interview packet.

Thanks! :)

I stayed at the Days Inn on Blue Mound road, and it was pretty good. It's about a 5 minute drive from the school and has very reasonable rates. Plus they have a restaurant on the premises.

Thanks Ace!! :)

I see you were accepted and are going to attend..any words of advice? I am looking forward to MCW myself.

Thanks again! :D

Maple,
It's a very relaxed interview so just have a good time. Also be prepared for it to be open file or closed file. They essentially leave it up to the interviewer if they want to read your file. Also if you're not from up north, take some warm clothes (maybe an overcoat.) There are going to be a lot of people interviewing with you (roughly 40-50 ppl). But don't be intimidated. Roughly 2 out of 3 people that are interviewed are eventually accepted (including those off the waiting list). So goodluck, and hopefully i'll see you there next year.

in all seriousness, though, may i ask why you chose not to stay with a host? i've found it to be a great way to get an inside look at the schools (i've stayed with student twice this year). If it's personal and you want me to mind my own beeswax, just say so and I'll drop it.

Either way, good luck at MCW. it's a great campus and the interview is definitely nothing to get worried about. AND, in case you've missed the other thread, they give you a tshirt too

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the info! :D

pre-hawk: I am not staying with a host because I won't be travelling alone. So...I don't think the student host will put up me and a family member! :D
Thanks for the advice though. I can't wait to get the free t-shirt!

Do you guys know if they have already filled the class? I heard that most people who interview in the spring are going to placed on the alternate list automatically. I hope that's not true. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

I think you're still early enough that there are spots left. I don't think they will resort to putting people on the waitlist till about March. In either case, good luck! I really liked MCW, I thought they were super-nice and efficient with everything.

Congrats Maple on getting the interview. MCW was probably the most kick back, relaxing and enjoyable interview day I've had (except for UCI). You don't understand, they are so so so nice there. And, they tell you quick. You'll get a response in about one week! Great school, great facilities and most importantly, great people. All I can tell you is don't stay at the Sheraton in Brookfield. Too far from school.

Good luck,
Altaskier

Plus the T-shirt ain't bad either.

wow!!!thanks guys for so much encouragement! :) :) It seems that MCW has a knack for picking out nice people to interview huh??!? Of course..now that includes me as well!! but..seriously though...It seems that most people end up loving the school and the people..If they are that nice...how on earth do they go about picking people?

so...if I can take this thread up a notch..do you guys posting your stats? I think all of you guys are already accepted to MCW right? I would really appreciate that.

Thanks guys! :)

I was accepted in late January...
3.76 Cum
3.76 Sci
(11V 10P 12B)=33O MCAT
3 yrs (mostly summer) clinical exp.
1 summer cardio. research
U of Iowa undergrad (Exercise Sci. major)

But, I really got the impression (agree/disagree with me here, guys) that MCW is much less number oriented than other schools--they really seem to look for the total package (I fooled them  ). Oh, and the people really are that happy and nice, so don't get trapped into thinking that they're just putting on a show for you. Have fun--it really is a pretty good time.

Accepted in late Jan as well

3.72 CGPA
3.80 SGPA
Major in Physics and Mathematics
9, 12, 12
Usual EC's, nothing too special
