DAY FOUR

1746366844429.jpeg

The path from Viridian Forest to Pewter City was dry, sun-bleached, and silent. No fog to hide in now. Just open sky and hard ground, leaving the Pokémon feeling physically and emotionally exposed. Tempers, already frayed, snapped in the heat.

Sandshrew and Pidgeotto muttered to each other about another Pokémon that had evolved two nights ago. There was something in his demeanor that didn’t sit right. Did he think he was better than them now? Or had that antagonism always been there, just lurking under the surface? And if he was so strong, why hadn’t he helped Gyarados?

Their private accusations reached a nearby Geodude, who grumbled to the Clefairy that had escaped the Hunter the night before. A ripple moved through the group, unease turning to suspicion, suspicion to certainty. Soon, all eyes were on Charmeleon. They questioned how he had evolved under such dangerous conditions without drawing the Hunter’s attention, as Metapod, Wartortle, and Gyarados had. Why had he been spared?

Charmeleon stood at the center of the circle, tail flame flickering low. When Sandshrew leveled his accusations, he growled—not in anger, but disbelief. The air shimmered with tension, heavy with heat and mistrust. It was unclear who struck first, but soon the group surged, and a fight erupted. Charmeleon was heavily outnumbered. The skirmish was brief but brutal: dust, claws, fire. No one seemed intent to kill. Just punish.

When it ended, Charmeleon’s flank was torn by a well-aimed Rock Slide. Blood trickled from a long scratch down his jaw, and his flame flickered weakly. He didn’t beg. He didn’t growl again. He stood in silence, searching their eyes—and found nothing.

Then he turned, and walked alone toward the canyons of Route 3, circumventing Pewter City's boundaries. As his tail flame disappeared over the ridge, no one spoke. But each felt the weight of their decision settle over them like ash.

Charmeleon wandered alone, unsure of what to do. When he had evolved, he had felt powerful—unstoppable. Now, he felt exposed. Wounded. Afraid. He thought, fleetingly, of going back to the forest. There were more places to hide there. More cover. But the thought came too late.

Just before nightfall, Pidgeotto returned from a scouting flight. At the base of a canyon—Charmeleon’s last known path—there were signs of a struggle. Charred rocks. Scorched earth. A cracked, burnt sienna scale. A puddle of blood.

No one said it aloud, but they all knew what it meant.

Dead is @Clem J , who was Charmander, evolved to Charmeleon, Vanilla Town.

NIGHT FOUR

The path towards Mt. Moon offered no safety—only stillness. Beyond the stone walls of Pewter City, the landscape gave way to dry grass, broken fences, and dust-choked ruins. The group huddled in a shallow depression beneath a withered tree, not ready to move forward, not willing to go back. No one spoke about the canyon. No one said Charmeleon's name. They waited, loath to continue toward the route that had been his demise. And waiting felt like something close to safety.

All living Pokémon have reached Level 30
.

That night, Clefairy found a torn satchel, long buried beneath weeds and stone. Its contents had spilled across the earth—Evolution Stones: Moon, Fire, Thunder, and Leaf. Each glimmered faintly in the moonlight. Once treasured. Now discarded. A promise of transformation that no longer seemed worth the risk.

As the group settled uneasily into another night, Diglett quietly slipped away. It wasn’t unusual. He often burrowed out ahead, scouting in the dark, silent and unseen. It was how he protected them—how Dugtrio protected them now, newly evolved and stronger than ever.

But by dawn, he had not returned.

It was Nidorino who found the place. A collapsed stretch of earth just beyond the ridge. No tracks. No signs of battle. Just soil pressed flat and strangely smooth, as if something below had thrashed and stilled. Digging into the packed loam, he found the worst of it. A small cavern, shallow and suffocating, reinforced crudely with rocks. Inside, the ground reeked of sweat and fear. There were streaks of blood on the stone, puddles in the soil. And at the very center, a single cracked segment of Dugtrio’s armor-like scalp—crushed inward.

It is a little-known fact that Digletts and Dugtrios do need to come to the surface to breathe.

The Hunter had known. There had been no grand battle. No final roar. Just a slow, deliberate suffocation beneath the earth Dugtrio called home.

Dead is @JaggedJimmyJay, who was Diglett, evolved to Dugtrio, a Town Doctor.

When Nidorino returned, he didn’t need to explain. The others saw it in his eyes. In the silence that followed, there was no denial, no hope for a mistake. Only understanding. They had waited too long. And waiting had killed again. When the sun broke over the cliffs of Route 3, the group was already moving. Not toward safety. Not toward revenge. Just forward.

Every shadow now felt like a threat.

Every breath felt like a privilege.

I’m busy arguing in my role PM to be a Venosaur.
It’s time to be tier 3, dammit.
😡

Was just checking in.
It’s easy for a wolf to be like “damn I did all this work for the person who got nightkilled, darn”
oh, I thought you were fishing for compliments for me and I appreciated it tbh

Yeah, I think PSV's middle of the roadness has shielded her from stronger scum reads, but the lack of really towny stuff in her ISO started to bother me overnight. On a more speculative level, the night kills and her meta of taking the Champs rep to the end feel like good indicators, too

(I've discounted madrigal because 1) I ISO'd her - will share later - and 2) I think a team with an SDN newbie killing another SDN newbie overnight is a tactical error tbh)

I know it’s moot and you can just lie to me but I’m going to ask anyway. Before the night kill his did you feel about Jay?
Was feeling pretty good tbh. Obviously a meta sample of 1 wolf game vs this unknown wolf game is small (esp since I didn't read many posts really), but I compared like posts to like (a few interaction posts and a trustfall), and he felt much townier this game.

This also sucks because I had some questions/complaints about his latest trustfall here though lol

Well at least I don’t have to be paranoid about JJJ anymore. But that’s really unfortunate. I wonder if it’s at all possible he saved someone N2 and genny wasn’t vig. His ISO is daunting though to look for crumbs on who he might’ve protected. And with no way to know for sure, it’s probably a fool’s errand.

A quick try at a trustfall of my own while I have a moment:

Barky - received a vouch from AM, who is said by many to have a strong read on them. Would be a somewhat awkward fit with Stagg. Has generally seemed authentic to me at the vibes level.

Lawpy - led a multi-cycles crusade of sorts against Stagg. Received vocal support from AM, who has been credited with a "god read". Has struck me as overtly town at face value consistently since replacing in for Coopah.

miranda - was vouched for pretty ardently by genny, who has just died. Seems to be trying her best in a difficult game to make a positive difference, in the thread and out.

SAR - placed the tie-breaking vote for Stagg in the previous day phase. Received strong vouching from Dubz.

PSV - placed the tie-making vote between mighty and Vis with about two minutes to spare in Day 1. Has generally struck me as authentic.
Like, compare this StardeWW trustfall to his latest here:

I'll extend the Trustfall I mentioned earlier to do both sides. I am going to list quick reasons to trust and to distrust every player. Anything that comes to mind is going on the page. I'll throw in some "null" things {n} that could be alignment indicative, but I'm not sure which way to go with them. I will then place them in order from most town to least town.

KayJayQueue
++ highly unpairing interactions with mayo, single best town indicator in the game for me
+ highly engaged solver in an awkward, unfamiliar environment that never lost steam as the mafia got spanked early -- only gained WIM
n unknown commodity that could have a stellar wolf game; I have no idea
n suspected by Santy, trusted by vampyrica
- missed the Day 1 vote

Animal Midwife
++ mayo treated her much like he treated me -- as an "obvious town" commodity not worth even approaching with "suspicion"
+ placed a vote for genny that tied her with moonster at 4-4 with two minutes remaining in Day 1 (extended: not known for bold busses)
+ conveyed a boss attitude of soaring confidence that I would expect from amid after a Day 1 mafia elimination and a Day 3 claim war
+ trusted by both Santy and vampyrica
n genny never mentioned nor responded to AM at all
n correct 3 out of 6 flipped players in the GTH exercise (called genny town, vampyrica mafia, and Zenge mafia)
- was extremely closed to the possibility that Zenge was town and has repeated that conduct to a milder degree with PSV
- held a pro-mayo stance for most of the game before Zenge's tracker flip

madrigal01
+ placed a meaningful vote for genny (placed her in a 3-2-2-2 tally lead over Zenge, samac, and KJQ)
+ trusted by both Santy and vampyrica
n unknown commodity that could be more comfortable than the usual first-time-playing-randed-wolf types
- minimally engaged in the communal solving effort until prompted

samac
+
placed a tie-breaking vote for genny that assured she would die (gave genny a 5-3-2 lead over moonster and Zenge; also not known for bussing)
+ decent interactions with mayo
n null interactions with genny
n - correct on 2 out of 6 flipped in the GTH exercise (called mayo town, genny town, vampyrica mafia, and Zenge mafia)
- lightly trusted by Santy, stronger suspicion for vampyrica
- held a pro-mayo stance for most of the game before Zenge's tracker flip

============= POE LINE =============

Clem J
+ on the right side of history when discussing the mechanical process at hand between Dina and mayo
+ has a group of town reads (AM, madrigal, samac) that is reasonably consistent with where I've been on reads
+ mayo was pretty antagonistic about Clem in a way that is consistent with pursuing an easy elimination
- Day 1 vote for KJQ was weak and never moved
- never mentioned genny on Day 1
- never mentioned mayo before the tracker/doctor drama except for one joke (click)
- suspected by both Santy and vampyrica

potentialsheltervet
+ voiced resistance to the moonstermash wagon on Day 1 that almost replaced the genny elimination
+ one of few players to show consistent vigilant skepticism of me as town tend to do
+ trusted by both Santy and vampyrica
n correct on 5 out of 6 flipped players in the GTH exercise (called mayo town)
n null interactions with genny
-- left pointless vote on me on Day 1 instead of picking a side between Zenge, moonster, and genny (placed vote 36 minutes to EOD)

SARdoghandler
+ started the game with good energy when she had more time
n - trusted by Santy, distrusted by vampyrica
n null or faintly positive interactions with genny
n correct on 4 out of 6 flipped players in the GTH exercise (participated late; called vampyrica and Zenge mafia)
- seems to be losing steam as the game gets worse for mafia
-- left a pointless vote on Clem on Day 1 instead of picking a side between Zenge, moonster, and genny (placed vote 3 minutes to EOD)

moonstermash
+ trusted by Santy and null-read by vampyrica
+ one decently unpairing moment with genny -- click here
n was pro-mayo and anti-Dina in their claim war, against the grain
n was wagoned by at least 3 town players at EOD 1 and almost overtook genny
n correct on 5 out of 6 flipped players in the GTH exercise (called vampyrica mafia)
- seems to be losing steam as the game gets worse for mafia
It's not just that the one here is bigger, it's that it's more detailed, more opinionated, more substantial (though I think some of his placements here weren't the most sensical - me being below SAR and madrigal being where she was felt off to me, if you actually analyze the strength of his reads)

It's not. We killed the vig and then the strongman.

I will say I don’t know if I’d use the meta. The difference is I was in her pocket for quite a while in last years game and AM is definitely not in her pocket.

How do we know that? Did I miss something? I know mayo was strongman but how do we know the last scum isn’t vig that shot n2? Am I just overthinking? I don’t think it really matters to our solving but I guess I don’t know how it’s a definite from your pov. I’m trying to go over everything and I’m blanking on what I’m forgetting.

Anyway, I have a confession

I won a game in F4 on my homesite during EOD4 here 🎉

Sorry for multitabling, though. Technically that game started signups/play before y'all even really started talking about this game, and I wasn't expecting it to start so soon, but I was already committed. I also can't remember the last time I multitabled and I really don't like it tbh

I have never been more certain on anything in my life.

I KNOW it to be true.

wer u twn?

Uh, does anyone want D4 vote sheets? Or has JJJ's death freed me? Lol

I’ve had a lot of people ask me my thoughts on AM, but I want to know yours independently.
Outside of her voting genny and mayo how do you feel about her? Do you think we’re getting duped? Why is she still alive? Should be looking there more seriously?
Thoughts?
@madrigal01 @KayJayQueue @moonstermash @SARdoghandler @potentialsheltervet
I have no meta to prove or disprove this but I think the way she interacted with me day 2 and continuing after that was just not the way I feel a wolf would handle a new player that’s an unknown entity. She made no attempt to make me feel “comfortable” (that might be the wrong word but I’m on hour 14 at work so my brain isn’t functioning at full capacity) at any point this game and I think scum would be a bit more…I dunno, timorous? Though it doesn’t seem like her personality to be overly self conscious as either alignment but I do think the nuances lead me to say she’s town.

Can someone remind me who all voted genny that’s still alive?

I know samac did, I think she’s tattooed that on her forehead at this point lol

I didn’t vote genny.

Anyway, I compared the N1-3 kill legacies and noticed something. Maybe someone else will notice it while I work on adding JJJ's legacy to the pile...

(For transparency, these are the posts I used: Santy, vamp, Dina. Obviously I did some interpretation with vamp's, but I don't think I was unfair tbh)
