Post Interview Communication [2013]

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This thread has made me completely depressed. My number 1 has contacted other people and I haven't heard a thing. Or my number 2, 3 or 4...

I'm gonna go hide somewhere and feel sad now.

**** it...i havent heard anything from anyone except from places that send an email to everyone.

"doesnt matter had sex."

I haven't heard anything either, but I ain't worried. In my experience, late booty calls rarely lead to lasting, meaningful relationships.

Got a call from a good program last night. They didn't say anything about the rank, but had a casual conversation with me and asked if I had any questions they could answer. Also gave me their personal phone number. Kinda strange, but it was good hearing from them....

The program called you? Is that like "this is Wall Street calling. We're a little nervous"?

"Hi, this is program x! I've seen you around, and kinda thought you were cute - maybe we could get together sometime soon?"

I've gotten a call from florida hospital orlando, but I rotated there. Otherwise, I've gotten letters from Summa Akron and Geisinger, PA.

5 phone calls. 4 emails. 3 snails. Don't want to specify which programs cuz it could just cause more anxiety for others. A lot more contact than was expecting to say the least. 3 more days and whats done is done! Hang in there everyone!

Yeah cause you didn't create any anxiety by posting that.

Grats on the recruitment dude...but sortof a douchey post...

They didn't say it was "your ranked to match" communication. It could just be those generic "Thank you for interviewing with us. We enjoyed meeting you" letters/phone calls. That's still post-interview communication.

Don't fuss at him. If you didn't want to know, you shouldn't have clicked on the link that says "post interview communication 2013." I personally have gotten no love from the programs, but that doesn't mean that I won't match, or that there is anything I can do to (positively) affect the outcome. He is likely one of our sdn superstars, and is being catered to accordingly. Also remember, that from programs' perspective, at least 11/12 of those contacts were worthless.

I'll tell you this.. I dig the programs that straight up tell you not to send them thank you cards or love letters. Makes life much easier. After all, why are we forced to send 100-150 thank you cards or emails when we are the ones flying all across the country and paying $5,000 to interview at places that we may or may not even want to be at?

🙂

Big props to MGH/BWH and MMC for having that policy and openness.

Didn't name drop. Didn't say what was said or from whom. Just giving honest numbers. Honestly, pretty d-bag of you for jumping on me as I'm simply quantifying the amount of post-interview communication I've received in a thread titled "post interview communication 2012-13".

i know of one program that told me this, and said they dont do the post interview comm stuff, then you hear of them sending snail mail to people. Kind of knocked them down my list (not even sure if I got it since I put my parents address as my mailing address).
