How important are cover letters for Postdoc? Many sites want them to encompass a lot of information, which is very hard to accomplish concisely.

I applied to 11 positions across 6 sites and it was completely fine. Definitely ended up feeling like I could have applied to fewer sites, but I was an anxious mess because I was location limited. In the end, it was easy-breezy. This process was much smoother than internship and you'll have a bit more control this time around.

I was in the application round 2 years ago.

The other clinical tracks go out separately from the neuro track.

No idea, but in general I think tracks do their own thing as far as interview offers, dates etc. Plus, from talking to non-neuro folks, I know that neuro tracks tend to get the process started earlier than other tracks do.

You're right about neuro going out sooner, but just wanted to clarify that they do send the non-neuro clinical tracks all at once in one email.

everyone has to do one -- there's close to 1:1 correspondence between neuro intern applicants and neuro postdoc applicants.

Specialty area that has become more popular in recent years. And to have good niche rotations (e.g., EMU, movement disorders, etc) you need specialty clinics that are generally only at certain size medical centers and hospitals. And, if you want board certification, you need to have a certain kind of fellowship.
