practice test vs real mcat

is it just me?

i've never scored below 10 on any practice amcas test for verbal.


I took all of them btw, i got 10s on most of them with a few 11s.

however, both times i took the real one i got a 9...

opinions?

i dont plan on retaking it again as i have a 32R rite now, but im just really stumped.

Happens. I guess that's why there's a different between practice tests and the real thing.

It does happen .There's always a difference b/w the final test and the mock ones . Somedays you outperform and vice versa.

Within range.....you probably just dont think as well or clearly on the real deal

It's the people that get 10-11s on practice exams and then a 6 on VR that is freaking me out.

I scored exactly the same as my verbal average on the practice tests.

However, my science scores were 2-3 points below even my lowest practice test score. I think this was a bit of a fluke as the version I took didn't have a lot of varied content. For instance, my PS section had 3 passages on quantum mechanics, and my BS section had 3 passages that were molecular bio and no anatomy at all (other than 1 discrete question on schwann cells and oligodendrocytes).

I wouldn't worry too much about your verbal score fluctuating unless you are really bad under pressure.
