Practice Writing Samples?

Is this something you should do much of? I have really know way of grading myself...and it seems kind of like a waste of time to spend much time on it...I write all the time, just not on the topics that will be brought up.

I haven't really been practicing this section at all.

It's my least favourite section, haven't practiced it in a while... and I'm not even sure if practicing actually improves anything. It's also the fact that the other sections can be regraded immediately, but with the essay, only you can grade yourself, and all my writing seems the same (except my second essay is usually worse than the first because I get so sick with the first ).
